Angelina Jolie Is “Beauty Icon of the Decade”… says a new UK poll conducted by Superdrug. Just yesterday, a few of you were surprised that Angelina wasn’t part of the “Top 20 Beauties of the Decade” list made by Interview Magazine. Well, she topped this one! Let’s see who else made the list:

They’re all beautiful women, but I would not call all of them “iconic”.
According to Superdrug, who comissioned the research, which saw 3,000 people questioned, Jolie’s famous pout, thick hair and “strong character” made her the envy of women aruond the world.
Steve Jebson, Commercial Director for Superdrug, said: ”Angelina Jolie is not a conventional beauty but her strong character shines through her fabulous features to give her a unique standing in the beauty world.
”It’s worth noting that while everyone talks about Angelina’s pout we find that its her long thick lustrous hair that really makes British women envious, as well as a figure made for red carpet posturing.
‘It is great to see that the list is packed with women of all ages and colouring in the top twenty, from the ageless beauty Joanna Lumley to new national sweet heart Cheryl Cole.

No way, she’s boring and the only thing she does is losing weight, which might be considered a thing of beauty in the industry, I think she looks, well, not so great. And how lame is it to put Jennifer Aniston on the second place behind Jolie? Sure, this has nothing to do with all the gossip, right. The whole list is kind of ridiculous, Holly Willoughby (who?), Catherine Zeta Jones (haven’t seen her this decade), Kate Beckinsale, Megan Fox, really? I completely agree with putting Liv Tyler, Halle Berry and Charlize Theron on the list, although they should be ranked higher. They look great (not too skinny, great features, great skin, they take good care of themselves and look healthy and happy) and they have a great fashion sense. The rest: bla.

This article is about beauty, so was my comment. She is skinny, has thinning hair and looks gaunt. Neither her child army, nor being St. Angie is of interest in this case.

I think she has REALLY amazing hair and a gorgeous bod.
to me, jenn anniston looks like a girl next door. I do think she is pretty, but not phenomenal. But for some reason, my fiance’ and other guys I have talked to think that she is the hottest celebs that’s out there. It’s so unusual. My fiance’ said he would take Anniston over Angie Jolie any day. Crazy, huh? I totally would have guessed the other way around.
I agree that Aniston is not very pretty, I don`t know how she ranked #2 And Cheryl Cole ??? …But Angie definitely deserves the fisrt place – she is and was beautiful, not only her face, body but also character, at least from what we can see – like the United Nations and charity work. But it may be just my opinion
I would include probably most of those in the top, but definitely other order. I mean, Charlize Theron is 20?? Really? And Jennifer Anniston? About Angelina, she sure is iconic, not so sure about the beauty part but she deserves her place in the higher half of the top, i’m sure. All these imho of course.

Jennifer Aniston isn’t that beauty. And she’s very boring, and always plays the same character… I don’t find Angelina beautiful either, but I know that many people do and I think she deserves to be on top of the list. Altough, Charlize Theron, Liv Tyler and Halle Berry should be casted higher.
In my opion, Liv Tyler is the most beautiful girl of this list.
And I love love love Nigella Lawson!!! She’s a little fat, but she has a GEORGEOUS face and if she loses like 10 pounds, she would became a godness of beauty!! And she also has a great personality and is very good in what she do..
isn’t it more to do with who people aspire to look like. Jen may not have been blessed with supermodel cheekbones or big lips like ange, but she is always beautifully groomed and has style that suits her shape and look. i know so many women who would love to look like her, and i think a big part of her appeal is her ordinary girl next door look.
likewise if you like the sultry vixen look i guess someone like ange is the right person or megan fox. personally i would aspire to someone like kate hudson. i would kill for her wardrobe and her figure. mines was not designed to carry off high fashion..:(

If I could make a list of the 20 most beautiful women in the world, taking only my opinion and taste, I wouldn’t put 18 of the women in that list. There would be only Liv Tyler and Halle Berry. I am not a huge fan of the “sultry vixen” look, but I really don’t like blondes. Is not that I have some kind of predjudice… I just find brunettes much more sexy and interesting…

If we are talking beauty icons, then where are Kate Winslet & Cate Blanchett – both are drop dead gorgeous, have great style, oodles of talent, and aren’t skinny minnies either. This list is way off the mark.

I would put Jennifer above Angelina if we’re talking “iconic” because people have been trying to copy her since the 90’s from her body, to the way she dresses to her hair.
Also Halle Berry should be much higher IMO.
Angelina is undeniably gorgeous but I just wouldn’t put her at the top. Also, I agree with whoever said they put Jen below Angie for the drama.
Most of these women are beautiful, but not “iconic”, I don’t even know who some of them are. I think Angelina is a good choice, cause while some of the others are prettier they are not really icons. And why aren’t there ever any top models in these lists?
angie is for sure iconic for this decade, at least for how much they talked about ther all over the world, for her charity work, her beauty, her family with kids from different countries..

I was confused by this list, but now I see this was from a UK poll. A few of these people I’ve never heard of: Myleene Klass, Joanna Lumley, Holly Willoughby??? WHO? Maybe these gals are “iconic” in the UK? Maybe this list is only speaking for the UK’s decade. I think the USA would have done it a little differently. I’m not saying they would do it better for sure, but differently.

I personally think ‘Iconic’ beauties are a thing of the past. Celebridom has changed and they are less elusive, more of them and theire conduct is different. Before you had Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Dandridge; you don’t get those anymore.
I guess this list reflects the women that have been celebrated for their looks (and other) in the recent decade. With that in mind it does fit. Jennifer Aniston may not seem as pretty as others but she has always been a woman that’s been admired for being a ‘hot woman’ on tv and is renowned, hence why she’s so high up.
Afterall, this was compliled by ordinary Superdrug shoppers so of course the women picked will be the ones that crop up in the media the most. Johansson, Knightly, Fox, Cole, Klass, Longoria and Knowles have all fully launched their careers this year and are pretty so naturally will be on the list.
“as well as a figure made for red carpet posturing.” Really? Maybe its just me, but I’ve never got the appeal over her “enviable” body. Her legs and arms are thin compared to her torso which is wide. I always thought that her skin looks a bit leathery, I just don’t get it.

I agree! megan fox deserves to be on any list rating hotness or sexiness but beauty encompasses a lot more than just looks, it implies a certain element of class from the way you carry yourself and how you present yourself to the world and i just don’t feel that megan fox represents any of that

Not sure how much inner beauty Megan Fox emanates but she’s hot so I can see her being on lists like these.
I think facially, Angelina Jolie is lovely. Her personality is also quite strong indeed. But I think having so many kids and her ambassador works are aging her though. But of course, would you exchange looks for helping other people eat and live? Nah. But Angelina Jolie is looking very emaciated and ill nowadays, so to give her that top spot when there are other celebs doing great things and still looking like they’re keeping it healthy? I don’t know.
Megan Fox is beautiful facially, but her personality is gross, as is demonstrated most often when she opens her mouth to talk. That erases some of her appeal for me.
Although I’m a big Megan fox fan, she’s okay at the bottom of the list. I agree with you she’s beautiful facially but she’s more appealing to men and the younger generation. Angelina Jolie is more timeless and women call relate to her

She is beautiful and deserves to be on top of the list. No, she’s not the typical pretty girl but she has a powerful character, has a great body (well use to, she needs to gain back that weight)and is very graceful. She’s also been very prominent this decade !

Omg she is so breath-taking!!!!!!!!!! Her skin is flawless, she has beautiful angular features. Large lips, Large eyes a small nose… that’s the perfect combo! You couldn’t ask for a better face, or a better body! Geeze!!! And just look at that gorgeous hair!
Well, Angie is worth being in the first place since it’s the list of the past decade. She surely was an icon a few years back but unfortunatelly she’s losing her looks recently. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a trully beautiful woman no matter what, I’d even call her beauty unwordly because of her unusual, yet very attractive facial features and on the top of it she’s all natural which is rare these days. I just think that she’s gone too far with her weight loss (although I’m not sure if it was intentional; but it’s obvious she used to have more feminine body a few years ago), that’s why her face looks a bit gaunt.
Anyway, I admire her as a person.
As for the other women, they are all beautiful but I don’t consider them as “icons”. Well, maybe Scarlett Johansson has a potential but she’s very young.

It is really hard for me to say if she is pretty or not. I just don’t feel her. But I do appreciate what she is doing. And it seems she is really into all of that, it is not a kind of PR trick.
