Ashley Tisdale Loves Curves & French Fries
OK Magazine has a new article “Ashley Tisdale… As You’ve Never Seen Her Before” and they have some interesting parts:
On Hollywood’s Obsession with being Thin: “I’ve been very skinny my whole life… I don’t really like this look. I like curves — I think that’s more beautiful… I look at Jessica Alba and think she’s got a great body. I think that’s what women are supposed to look like.”
On Her Eating Habits: “I love French fries and bread, and when I’m on tour I have McDonald’s… At home, I like to cook — I love omelets in the morning. Still, I have started working out, so I do try to limit carbs and add protein. I want to build a little muscle.”
My only objection is: “that’s what women are supposed to look like” – well, I say that women are supposed to come in various shapes and sizes, with different weights, heights, different body types and frames and we’re not all supposed to look like Jessica Alba.
Im so fed up with when celebs talk about weight or their bodies, they just need to make sure that everyone knows that they can eat whatever they want. They can bathe in chocolate, eat 10 big macs a day and so on without gaining any weight, as if thats healthy or cool. How about for once talk about that you like to work out and yes sometimes you do indulge or treat yourself to something but you like to eat healthy and stay in shape.
I don’t think of Jessica Alba as curvy. I think she is slim. If she is curvy, then I am a big fat cow.
Exactly. Alba isn´t curvy. She has a very nice body though, but we can´t all look like that.
I don´t like when people call themselves curvy just because they aren´t stick-thin. It necessarily doesn´t mean your´re curvy.

I agree, Jessica Alba isn’t really that curvy but i say this because of her shape not size. She does have a nice body though: some sort of waistline, perky butt, toned etc.
You are so right! Jessica Alba fits into the slim category, not curvy. Not to say that she doesn’t have a nice figure, she does.

i agree with everybody here. i’ve been saying this for the longest and as i said before, women come in all shapes and sizes so i’m tired of people trying to define what beautiful is. women of all sizes represents beauty and not just one. so for ashley to say that being curvy is for women to look like is something i disagree with. god created women and he created them to be women regardless of what shape they’re in. not all skinny girls look like boys just like not all curvy women are fat and she and every celeb that brag about being a real woman needs to shut the hell up! how about love yourself and not care what people think because they’re always going to have something to say.

Curvy isn’t about being a UK size 14 + it’s about your shape, namely women with the hourglass/pear like figures. You also have very curvy and kind of curvy.
Either way, there is nothing wrong with not being curvy, it doesn’t determine your womanhood.

Whilst beauty comes in all forms and sizes, a woman is supposed to be feminine, with some curves and some softness.
On the contrary, someone who is NOT naturally lean and is obsessed with her weight, someone who refuses to eat and exercises like crazy in order to become a bag of bones is definitely what a woman is NOT supposed to look like!!!
i disagree because not all women are going to look like the curvy women in hollywood. there will be naturally thin girls just like curvy and full figured women. a woman is a woman and it doesn’t matter what shape you’re in. i mean damn people stop trying to say what a woman is suppose to look like.

Exactly, Jessica Alba is a size 4, slim and beautiful but in no way ‘curvy’. This site rarely depicts women who are actually curvy, it seems curvy is anyone who is not rake thin.

Curvy is just a cover up not, they/we whoever cant say ‘fat’ ‘full-figured’ or ‘plus-size’ now or they will get slated for being cruel.
Curves (to me) isnt about body mass or weight its about a waist.
Jessica Alba is curvy, she has a small waist, big boobs and a full butt.
Marilyn Monroe and Alesandra Ambrossio share the same waist to hip ratio(Ale pre-baby anyway) meaning that alothough they are different sizes they are just as curvy as each other.
I partly agree with you, but Alba is NOT curvy. Look at her head on, and you will see that there is not that much size difference between her hips and waist, butt has not much to do with curves. I’ve seen hippy, small waisted women with flat butts, and yet they were still curvy because from looking at them head on, you could see a definite difference between their waist and hips. IMO, Alba’s butt and boobs aren’t all that big/full, it just looks that way because she’s so slim all over.
most pics are photoshopped…even candids. the media wouldnt want to let the cat out of the bag and show us that celebs are just like us and we would all look that hot if photoshopped now would they ;o) that would stop them from selling their fantasy world along with all products, magazines, make up, surgery, tan, diets, etc etc etc. u get the gist. EXCEPT for the odd mag where they say ‘celebs have cellulit too!’ in order to get us to think they are on their side then BAM all those celebs hav magically lost the weight and cellulite to go with it (wtf?) the following week!
i agree- ‘women are supposed to have curves’ i took that as- they are supposed to be natural and healthy and not starve themselves to bones. some. ( not many) are born that way tho and thats how they are supposed to be. but we are not suppose to obsess and diet our shape away on purpose. and jess a aint curvy at all…kym k is…but i think that kinda curvy is much more genetic than anything! not everyone has the hourglass type figure and no matter how skinny she got she would still have that same basic shape.

Shes not fat, but shes certainly not , as she describes “very skinny”. Shes just another one of those weight obsessed actresses who is skinny and then claims to be naturally like that , when in reality there is photo counter evidence.

wow, yeah those photos just prove how much bullshit she is talking, although u have to allow for her maturing as she is obviously younger in them. still, ive always been skinny is such a lie, what she shud be saying is, i was a happy, normal sized girl until i got famous and then i had to work hard to lose a load of weight, and no i dont eat french fries now cos it ruins my diet and exercise program that my very expensive trainer made for me!
and with regard to jessica being curvy because she has a small waist and then goes out at the hips, id disagree, shes very “up and down”:

There seems to be a real trend to ‘big up’ curves. I agree Alba isn’t curvy but what seems a shame is how Ashley is being down on her figure here. Confidence is way hotter than a particular body type.
i know. i don’t know a lot of women who look like jessica alba, even post pregnancy. she’s not really “curvy.” and its really not saying a lot for someone who’s been skinny all their life to “aspire” to be as curvy as another slim celebrity. thats like lindsay lohan wanting to be as “curvy” as nicole richie. RIDICULOUS.
This is a great post! Actually I think Ashley looks sexy for once, but also I agree this pic is photoshopped. Jessica Alba is so NOT curvy! Yuk! Giselle? I love her but anyone who thinks she is curvy needs mental aid. And yes to whoever mentioned Kim Kardashian. She is the perfect woman. She is magical because somehow she only puts on weight in the T&A areas, but most women aren’t that way. We have to work we what we’re born with, accentuate the good parts, exercise, maintain health and nice skin/hair, the right clothes for your body. But I do totally agree, women are so incredible because there is no ONE standard of beauty. Variety is the spice of life and women are amazing.
Ashley Tisdale was not always ’skinny.’ Pre-nose job, before the High School Musical movies came out, she was a normal girl. Then she suddenly got quiiite skinny. My little sister used to love her on Zack and Cody and had posters of her…she looks very different now.
I guarantee you that she’s not eating whatever she wants to suddenly change body types like that. And Jessica Alba is not curvy– at times her shoulders look painfully bony.
Another case of a skinny actress (who has lost weight whilst in the public eye) trying to deflect attention of said weight loss by saying how much they embrace curvy women…pretending that they’re not trying to look as thin as they are. Because if they honestly stated how much they idolise thinness, it would validate everyone’s suspicions that they have a problem. Much like Keira Knightley singing the praises of Beth Ditto…B.S.!

well i just have to repeat what everyone’s already said, jes is not that curvy, in ANY way. but to say that it’s about the waist-hip ratio or big boobs and THEN say that’s a real woman, that’s some tough talk. i agree we should try and find peace with our bodies, but it doesn’t mean everyone is to be curvy. and for some the only way they could get curvy is to gain weight(like really go up in sizes) and they still wouldn’t necessarily have boobs/hips. that can be a beautiful look too, but if curvy means marilyn, then women aren’t supposed to look like that as so few can. lucky are those who R blessed w/ those bodies:)
i wud categorize jessica alba as curvy. curvy is another word for hourglass, and thats what alba is. nice boobs, super slim waist and arms legs, and wide hips and super butt. jessica alba is def curvy in my view.
well, curvy can be another word for hourglass ( though I find some pear-shaped also curvy), but Alba isn´t an hourglass by any means.
Jessica is not an hourglass, she’s a ruler. She does not have have the hip to waist ratio to be one and her bust is not large enough either. I think her body is nice but she’s not an hourglass as some people claim. I think the word hourglass is overused and many actresses whom claim to be are using different measurements. For example, Jessica Simpson lists her measurements as the classic 36-24-36, which are freaky Barbie measurements. In real life, these proportions are not too realistic. Kelly Brook is a good example of an hourglass figure.

I’m fed up with these celebs who claim they eat everything and don’t gain weight. Nonsense! I’m sure, it’s their dream to eat whatever they want, but it’s so far from truth. They do watch what they eat, excercise regularly. Looks like their embarassed to admit that they are normal human beings just like anybody else with their flaws and that they have to put some effort to look that good.
I took a minute off my weeping over her sad body image tale to write comment. Ashley Tisdale is as interesting as watching wet tissue dry. Her comments are utterly stupid, pretentious and insulting. Maybe her nose job affected her ability to make sense.
Ashley has a perfect body. I hope she doesn’t want to gain weight over what she has now. She is not ultra skinny, but she has a very nice body.
I find comments like these extremely contrived.
The media, as we know, is very bias towards slim ruler and very slim hourglass-ish girls (think Victoria’s Secret models). Therefore, many celebrities make comments like this, claiming that they wish they wish they were curvier or bigger and eat very casually so that we read their comments and think ‘oh she’s one of us’. It’s all PR.
I’m not saying they all make it up but it’s odd that you read this then the next minute you read details about their strict diet/exercise regimes; doesn’t exactly add up, does it?
I don’t think celebs should try to do the whole ‘we all want to be curvy’ plea when it’s clearly not true and there’s no hard and fast rule stating that all women have to be curvy anyway.
