Lauren Conrad in Skinny Jeans, Front and Back
October 14, 2008 in Body Type and Clothes, Front and Back, Lauren Conrad by Versus
I’ll say it this time: If I were Lauren, I would either grab some heels and a longer top or I would simply stick with the classic jeans and offer the skinny jeans to Gisele or Miranda – Because:
1. Tall + model-skinny + skinny jeans – works.
2. Average height (5′5”) + slim (not skinny) legs + pear shape + flats – not so much.
Feel free to agree or disagree!

As I’ve said before no one can wear skinny jeans except Gisele, Miranda and some of the other models.
And I am not saying Lauren is fat, but she most certainly doesn’t have the body/legs for theese jeans and it doesn’t help by putting those boots on.
Are you crazy?…she can totally pull these jeans off its people like you saying things like that that give girls eating disorders you go on about celebritys being too skinny then you say sumthing like that about someone thats got a stunning figure.
Ana,
Kindly read my comment again and notice that I called Lauren “slim”. Not “fat”, not “chubby”, but SLIM – hardly a word that generates eating disorders.
Furthermore, my advices on how to dress for one’s body shape WILL NOT give anyone any eating disorder and you were out of line for implying so.
Ana I agree with you and must point out that tis funny that your name is Ana and the nickname for anorexia is ana. Hehe. Yes, I know the nicknames, yes I is a recovered Anorexic thus my talking of eating disorders stops there.
I don’t think skinny jeans are limited to super-skinny people since they can look great on curvy gals (Beyoncé much?) but the boots shouldn’t be worn with them since they make thighs look bigger epesh if you’re pear-shaped (Beyoncé wears heels with hers).
I think Lauren Conrad pulls them off in these pics though.. x
Versus, I’d just like to say, that you give great advice on how to dress for your body shape and I only agree with Ana about Lauren being able to pull the skinny jeans off lol x
WTF, Ana??? There are millions of books on how to dress for your body shape, magazines that give advices – no one gets eating disorders just because they read about what to wear to look good / better!!! I think it’s outrageous to say so!
I mean, no one called Lauren fat or thick or anything and the truth is that yeah, she could look much better in other clothes. And frankly, with those jeans and shoes, Lauren looks very short and it’s not flattering.
Oops, did I give anyone an eating disorder for saying that????!!!!!
Thank you, Linda.
Laughing. My. Ass. Off. Francise x
Oh and you’re welcome, Versus x
ANA, haha I am laughing my *** of right now. No I do not believe that anyone, except people like Gisele etc. can pull skinny jeans, just like I don’t think people with short legs can wear shoes og stillettoes that stops at the ankle, because it doesn’t do anything for their bodies or legs!!.
And come one, everyday a book is published, or some stylist gives fashion advice on how to dress for your body shape, and as far as I know, that doesn’t result in young girls getting an eating disorder, that said, no not all people can wear those jeans and Lauren is one of them!!
And you are really out of line, saying that comments that I make or anyone else makes, results in young girls having an eating disorder!!!!
Looks good
she looks fine. but i think theres a better outfit out there for her.lauren would look better in a longer shirt(as mentioned) and maybe some looser jeans.
LOLZ
and no one should get offended by my comment, lol. i am not saying slim and curvy women should starve themselves now.. its plain and simple, some outfits flatter only a specific type of body. its fashion!!
I dunno. I think she looks just fine. But then again, I feel it’s unfair that having a certain body type should totally eliminate an article of clothing forever.
Lauren does not look skinny here. But I don’t think she looks bad at all. I think she looks normal, like someone you’d see around campus or whatever
Honestly Lauren has a very very average figure… she’s slimish but not enough to wear skinny jeans. I wish people would understand that trends are called trends because they pass… its awesome to be trendy but only if one can pull it off
— and Lauren definitely can’t.
well i think she looks good tbh.
I may sound stupid.
how the heck did she get known?
What the heck did she do to get popular?
Same as that stupid blond one that is in the same show as her. they all hate eachother.
That fucking show is stupid. OMG.
I love skinny jeans. I have a slim but not incredibly skinny figure, and short legs as well, but they look pretty good on me. You just have to wear them with the right shoes and tops! And get the RIGHT pair of skinny jeans. Dark, wash, and no material that is too stretchy and too tight.
I think the problem with these skinny jeans is 1. they are far too tight-looking/the material is too stretchy… it looks like it is suction cupping her in. Not all skinny jeans are made like this.
2. The boots. Not only are they heinous, but they cut off her legs at a bad spot, making her look stumpy and curvier than she really is. Imagine her with almost knee high boots and her skinny jeans tucked in, and it wouldnt be that bad.
I also don’t think the first picture is that unflattering. I think they show off her pear figure pretty nicely, considering she’s wearing flat shoes. A jean that maybe wasn’t asss crazy tapered at the bottom might have been more flattering.
Also, I thought Lauren Conrad was 5′2??
Just a humble girls opinion though!
fashion rules above and beyond everything else is to dress for your body type.
Love the site, versus. Almost always agree with your acute observations
@ Stef,
Thank you, I’m glad you like our site!
Many sources on the Internet say that Lauren is 5′4” or 5′5” – anyway, your observations about her outfit were spot on!
This kind of BS does not result in young girls having an eating disorder, it propels it. I have had one myself.
Please make me understand.
I said that Lauren is SLIM. There is NO body in this world that looks amazing in all types of clothes, not even the skinniest bodies, not even the perfectly curvy bodies. I simply said that Lauren would look better if she dressed for her (pear) shape.
How does this propel eating disorders?
If anything, I think that dressing for your body type leads to extra confidence, less worries and feeling more comfortable in your own skin (and in the right clothes).
Do you really believe that such basic advices (like pear shapes should wear classic jeans, not skinny jeans, top heavy girls should wear V necklines, etc.) propel eating disorders?
Honestly, I do my best to present a wide range of shapes and sizes on this site and I truly believe that they are all beautiful (as long as they are healthy). Obviously, promoting eating disorders is the last thing I want – and your comment was quite harsh, considering that I have never called anyone fat / chubby / “should lose some”, I am not PRO skinny… I am simply PRO healthy and PRO dressing for your body type.
I disagree with the fact that only tall people can pull of the skinny jeans look. I think it’s skinny people, or people with long legs. More shapely figures; it’s best to go with bootleg or something like that.
To be honest, skinny jeans are just not flattering; full stop. I don’t think they are strictly for tall girls or whatever because i’ve seen plenty of tall slim girls look frumpy in them. They are just unflattering.
I just saw this and read people’s comments and you can’t say that saying that ‘curvier’ girls shouldn’t wear certain clothes will give people anorexia but I think it could make them worry. I’m slim but have bigger thighs and only wear skinny jeans but now I will worry that people will think I look fat because I’ve read this, but that’s nobody’s fault but my own, I just thought I might stick up for Ana a bit.
i think she looks good. I’ve seen a lot of pear shaped girls wear skinny jeans nicely.
