Skinny VS Curvy

Long time no see: The Olsen sisters posing together (and looking positively lovelier than the last time we saw them together – click here to see)! Ashley’s looking a tad taller (and I’ll also say a little skinnier than Mary-Kate these days) - and Mary-Kate is looking like her usual fashion-icon-self.

Bottom line, you must have your own favorite! Who’s the Hottest Sister Now? Mary-Kate Versus Ashley Olsen!

Here is Ashley Olsen on the red carpet, but without the pompous dresses that are usually spotted at red carpet events. How is Ashley looking recently? Slim and definitely not overly skinny. Even more, she is wearing black skinny jeans and manages to look like she is at a healthy weight. Even better, she is carrying (besides a little more weight than in her skinny days) her smile – and that can only be good news.

How do you like Ashley’s current weight/body/size/shape/look?

Yes, rounder=better for Ashley Olsen, don’t worry.

It’s been a while since any of the Olsen Twins had a fresh and youthful glow on their faces, since their skinny looks also implied skinny faces. But here we have Ashley and I am really glad to see her face in the above picture, not only because because it looks prettier, but because she is fully smiling, which she doesn’t do so often, so yes, it’s a reason for joy.

What do you say? Has Ashley put on some weight or we are just not used to see her without the trademark duck lips?

In case you are wondering about the occasion for which Mary-Kate gave up the baggy oversized shirts, also known as “homeless aesthetics”, the Olsen twins attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, which justifies the red carpet under their feet.

Now at a first glance, Ashley actually seems slimmer and leaner than Mary-Kate, who is generally known as the “skinnier one of the skinny Olsen twins”. Sure, it could be the fitted black dress versus the shiny and loose golden one, it could be the height difference (probably amplified by the size of the heels) and, of course, it could also be Mary-Kate’s “70 years old woman posture” versus Ashley’s model-like pose.

Now onto the real problem in this picture, not body nor weight-related (no, not the duck lips): while Ashley’s hairdo (if it qualifies as a hairdo, that is) wouldn’t be a disaster if she was going to the mall, just take a longer look at Mary-Kate’s chopped/burned/chaotic mess hair.

Here we have the less skinny Olsen twin, together with some really, really trendy shoes that look really, really hideous. This is a body gossip and not a fashion one? Okey… then let’s observe the fact that, for once, Ashley Olsen is, shockingly, smiling and not doing the uber-popular duck lips. Yes, back to weight now. Ashley seems to be in good (great?) shape, definitely not as skinny as she used to be not long time ago, yet nowhere in the vicinity of flab.
