“I’m on the petite side and I don’t think I’m curvy, but maybe I’ll grow into it. I like to wear things that are fitted because they give me more shape. I like to show a little bit of skin in a nice way. The idea of trying to get on a best-dressed list stresses me out. I’m so nervous. I love picking out clothes, and it would be a blast to just play dress-up all the time.”
On the importance of getting your clothes tailored when you have an hourglass body shape:
“The key for my body is tailoring. I spend more money on tweaking and fixing the clothes than the actual clothes. So I have to go to the tailor, and he would sew a seam in a little bit because my size is difficult. It’s not that it’s bad, I am not complaining—it’s just that once you know how to tweak it, you look like you are well dressed. For example, jeans that go all the way up here. So I tell the guy, OK, you know what needs to be done; I don’t even have to try them anymore. He knows to do it so when I sit the jean doesn’t go all the way down. It’s just learning what you have to do. Not for something simple like a T-shirt, but for a piece that I like, I always have to have it altered.
On her boobs:
“I mean, a normal girl will just put the dress on and leave. I need them to be like an armory. My dresses are like a work of art inside because, you know, I am 40 years old, I had a baby, and I am a 32F boob. And they are real still. When they are fake, you take the bra off and they are still there, perfect! Me—no, so I have to bring them up! I have to build the dresses up to here so that the bras—ach, it’s a whole, der—ugh—tchah!”
“I think because I have big boobs it could make me look heavier if I don’t, like, show off my waist or something, so I just have kind of learned to dress one way only,” she says. “Khloé can wear flowy, pretty things because she’s really tall. Kourtney is, like, really little. I’m just kind of in between, so it doesn’t really work.”
On her pregnancy cravings:
Now, since she’s had to forgo her Diet Coke, her worst vice is the occasional iced tea. “I used to always say I can’t wait to get pregnant because I will just eat whatever I want, but it’s completely different,” she says as she makes her way through an apple pastry. “I’m like, OK, I want to eat as healthy as possible. Though lately I’ve been watching shows like I’m Pregnant and Addicted to Meth. It definitely makes me feel better if I’m wanting one sip of Diet Coke or, you know, too much sugar. I’m like, This woman is on meth.”
On the concept of her new clothing line, which includes tailored dresses:
‘I just want to celebrate a woman’s curves. Although, you’re right, I don’t have that many myself. I love a woman’s body and I want to make women look and feel fantastic.’
America Ferrera is busy doing some promotional work this week – here she is at 2 different events, looking pretty and polished in 2 dresses that accentuate her waist. America is very consistent when it comes to her style and she’s very loyal to these kind of classic-cut dresses that flatter her figure.
