Isla Fisher: “I gained 65 pounds with my first baby and 70 with my second”

Isla Fisher: I gained 65 pounds with my first baby and 70 with my second | hollywood moms

On gaining a lot of weight during both her pregnancies:

I gained 65 pounds with my first baby and 70 with my second.  After I had my second daughter, I slowly lost the weight by breastfeeding, hiking Runyon Canyon, and working with a trainer every couple of weeks.

I had severe morning sickness both times. So I mostly ate super-sized bowls of white pasta with loads of butter and cheese because that was the only thing that took away the nausea. I also ate late-night cornflakes, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and scones with jam and cream.

I had to shoot ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ about three months after I gave birth to Olive (in 2007), so the producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, hired a trainer to work with me three times a week. That was both inspirational and terrifying because I didn’t want to let the trainer down.

… says Isla, who gave birth to her second child 2 and a half years ago.

More candids of her next!

Holly Madison Gives Tips on How to Look Slim After Giving Birth | hollywood moms holly madison celebrity quotes

Holly Madison, who wants to lose 40 pounds in 6 weeks, showed up on the red carpet at Cirque Du Soleil’s World Water Day celebration on Friday, just 3 weeks after giving birth – and she offered a few tips on how to look as slim as possible post-birth:

How do I hide my leftover preggo belly for the red carpet? Combine all my favorite slimming tips: a high waist, a flared skirt and a wide belt. Put those elements in your outfit (Spanx don’t hurt either!) and the pounds disappear for the night!’

… says Holly.

The full story from US Weekly:

“I would flip through celeb magazines…and I just couldn’t get how these moms like Jessica Alba lost so much weight so quickly—and yet I couldn’t,” the actress tells Us Weekly in an exclusive interview at “The Real Women of Jenny Craig” event in NYC on Jan. 23. “They all lie and say, ‘Oh, I lost the weight running after the kids or breastfeeding.’ It’s not true!”

“I felt broken. I felt like an outsider in my own community,” she continues of her postpartum experience after giving birth to her son, Dashel, now 5. “There just are not a lot of overweight people in Hollywood. I felt like the jerk who couldn’t figure it out.”

The actress finally figured it out, she claims, when she signed on with Jenny Craig as its brand ambassador. “I had tried every other diet in the world and decided to give Jenny Craig a try. The first week, I lost five pounds and then lost an average of two pounds a week for 16 weeks. I lost 35 pounds total. It changed my life.”

Sullivan has since given birth to another son, Beckett, now 3. “When I look back to when I had my first son, I was unhappy. I couldn’t understand why the weight wasn’t just falling off. I wish I could have that time back. With my second son, I enjoyed the whole process of him being an infant more because I wasn’t mad at myself. When you are mad at yourself, you are mad at everybody. That’s the problem…. I may not look like [Alba], but at least I can keep up with other actresses now. I feel really good about myself.”

… says 42 year-old Nicole.

Elizabeth Banks: “Celebrities are normally genetically predisposed to being thin people”

On why regular women should not compare themselves with celebrities:

“I like to believe that if I had carried my own baby, I would have bounced back. But who knows? And by the way, it’s such a horrible — women should not be expected to bounce back … it’s a, I think, a true disservice what’s going on right now with all these celebrity moms … first of all, I just want to remind people that celebrities generally are genetically superior human beings on a certain level anyway … they’re mostly thin, you know, they got trainers, they work out, they’ve got money, they’ve got the ability, you know, and they are normally genetically predisposed to being thin people anyway, so like these women who are holding up, you know, certain people as their benchmark after they’ve had a child, like just go be with your kid for a minute … don’t get to the gym right away. It’s alright. This is not how it’s supposed to be, everybody. Calm down.”

… says Elizabeth, who had 2 children via surrogate.
