Kelly Clarkson is the kind of girl who can joke about her weight, smile and look happy, despite the fact that she’s been getting criticism for her recent weight gain.

Kelly Clarkson has been in the celebrity body gossip lately, so here she is walking around in Sydney.
On recent occasions, Kelly wore some outfits that didn’t flatter her figure – so what do you think about these jeans and top right here?

Or, to be fair to all visitors, Kelly is 75 kg and 160 cm. Which would imply that she has a BMI of 29.2 (overweight range 25-29.9), says an expert from Star Magazine:
“Kelly’s much heavier frame shocked fans at KIISFM’s Wango Tango concert in L.A. Fitness expert Joe Catalano says: “She looks like she weighs about 165 lbs. At 5′3″, that’s almost 35 lbs. over her ideal weight.”
Hmm… does that sound accurate to you?
Star Magazine also reports:
“I’ve always been thicker,” she’s said. “I don’t believe in dieting.” And even now, says a friend, “She’s happy where she’s at. She doesn’t think being thin should be a big priority in her life.” Plus, she wants to continue to be a good role model for her more voluptuous fans. “She gets tons of fan letters telling her to stay curvy,” the source says. “The last thing she wants to do is betray those young women who look up to her by going on a crash diet.”
But even though she’s just fine with being on the fuller side, Kelly’s starting to consider making a change. “She’s nervous about her health,” a friend reveals. She knows she needs to do something about the extra weight.”
So we’ve recently seen Kelly in a side-by-side comparison that featured her THEN and NOW and we all concluded that she’s gained some weight. Well, she has, but the outfit she wore on that occasion also takes part of the blame, as well as the “stage angle” and her positions during the performance. Check out the pictures by clicking HERE!
A longer top with sleeves definitely flatters her, much more than the last sleeveless, sparkly top she wore.

I’ve been asked to do a fast comparison between the Kelly Clarkson from a few years back and Kelly today, especially since she’s put on a visible amount of weight. I’m not a fan of reporting weight gain (unless it’s on Lindsay Lohan or Victoria Beckham), but take a look at the pics: on the left, Kelly at the lower end of her weight fluctuation range and on the left, Kelly a few days ago, while performing in a concert.

The only thing I’m gonna say is that this girl fluctuates a lot and that can’t be good for her. If I were her, I’d settle at a maintainable weight, even if a little higher than the ideal. What do you all say?
