During her first pregnancy, Kim Kardashian made no secret of her struggles to cope with her blossoming figure. At her lowest ebb, the star – who gained 3st during the pregnancy – admitted it was “really tough,” saying: “I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.” And now, just three months before her due date, insiders tell Closer that the 34-year-old star’s body insecurities have returned and are wreaking havoc with her confidence.
As Closer reported last week, Kim ranted at her sisters Kourtney and Khloe following a beach workout in St Barts and accused them of using her to make themselves look skinnier. Now pals say Kim dramatically quit working out after feeling increasingly insecure during exercise classes with slimmer women at Barry’s Bootcamp in Sherman Oaks, LA.
A source says: “Kim looks incredible but she’s feeling very insecure about her body. She thinks she ‘balloons’ during pregnancy and when she compares herself to other pregnant women at the same stage as her, she feels awful. She hated feeling like the biggest person during group classes at Barry’s and hated working out next to all the fitness-mad LA mums.”
To make matters worse, pals say when Kim first confided in her husband Kanye West – who is famed for his controlling ways – he told her the solution was to keep on working out, and then put pressure on her trainers to keep her in shape. A source says: “Kanye is very controlling and thinks he has an answer for everything. If Kim complains about her body then Kanye blames whoever is training her.”
On losing weight at the beginning of her pregnancy:
For me, I actually lost 10 pounds before I started gaining baby weight. I think a lot of it has to do with food. My cravings are fruit and Shirley Temples. I’m really not that hungry very much. I will literally get full within a couple of bites and that’s it. Knock on wood because any day it could change but right now, I have a positive attitude. When I took alcohol out of the equation, I lost all of the weight. Like, every single night I have some wine. Of course I stopped drinking right when I got pregnant, but I think that has a lot to do with it.
On her current figure:
I’ve only gained about 5 pounds! For 18 years, I’ve been a model, but as soon as I got pregnant, I really couldn’t care less about my body. For now I’m waiting to see how things change, how bad the stretch marks are.

‘Being in the public eye when you’re pregnant is really, really hard, and people can be so mean on the Internet, it’s insane.
‘Pregnancy is such a beautiful time to me, and I feel like you should embrace your body in whatever stage it’s in. So it’s kind of hard being an actress, being a celebrity, and having people scrutinize how you physically look, and just saying the craziest things.’
‘I just keep in mind that I’ve never met these people, and they’ve never had the privilege of meeting me, so they’re, like, strangers as far as I’m concerned. So you can’t really take what they say to heart.’

When I was expecting Autumn, I ate everything I saw! I told myself, “Oh there’s a donut – I should have that.” Now with this second pregnancy, I know the baby really doesn’t “need it.” So I eat healthy foods in general, but I also indulge in little things that I crave.
On her cravings:
I sort of just like the things that I normally like, but more of it. I’m a big jalapeno person when I’m pregnant, which I like anyway. Italian food, which I kind of like anyway. You know cake, hotdogs – you name it, really. Pretty much anything.
On her pregnant figure:
Your body changes so much, and there’s a sensuality about that. I say accentuate the fact that your legs look thinner than they ever have, and your boobs look great: Work it! As somebody who’s been in this business for a long time and had to sort of be all about what your figure looks like, your regimen – I think if you can let that stuff go and really embrace what you’re doing, you feel kind of awesome.
