… and that is NOT an over-statement – unless these pictures were taken in 2005.
Actually, if we take a close look, this is NOT Hilary’s body type at all – check out the second picture on the next page!
A few days ago, Hilary Duff was “too big” for Gossip Girl and now they replaced her figure with the one belonging to a tall & skinny model in these ads – great messages, guys!

ha ha ha… at least it’s her face, though that also is photoshopped. well, it’s a campaign, the purpose is to sell, not to show the real hilary. why thin sells, that’s another topic of it’s own, models are supposed to be thind and to ad campaigns they often pick celebs just b/c people feel “closer” to them, or show intrest. it doesn’t matter to the companies what body they attach to wich face/persona

I understand that you’re upset because of this magazine’s ridiculous level of photoshopping, but don’t take it out on thin women. The people at fault here are the magazine editors who decided that she wasn’t good enough, not thin women. Thin, tall women are real women, and Hilary Duff is a real woman.

wow! it must make Hillary Duff upset to know that they feel like they have to photo-shop her that much. I know it would make me feel like crap. However, I really don’t think it was necessary… I honestly think she looks fine naturally!

I have Hillary’s body type(broad shoulders, plump arms) and it’s really hard. No one can accept it and have sympathy. Everyone just wants to talk about legs and stomach.

yours and hillary’s body type IS beautiful. anyone’s natural build is beautiful as long as they are healthy and happy with it themselves. dont get yourself down just because you may not have legs that are six miles long like gisele bundchen or miranda kerr

I don’t get it, I don’t understand why you’d want to look like that in jeans (referring to the photoshopped ad, not her in real life). I mean, aren’t tight jeans made to show off curves? I know that everyone gets photoshopped in ads, but I don’t think making her a size 0, or whatever her photoshopped jean size may be, isn’t necessary.

You may not care about the celebrity, but you should care about the negative message that this sends out to her fans.

Because, Uma, those fans aren’t “stupid”, they are impressionable young girls that are getting that message. Plus, it’s starting to get *beep* ridiculous how much they will change a woman when they put them in these stupid ads. Yes, she took the money, so *beep* what? Doesn’t mean that this whole photoshop them beyond recognition is right.
It is photoshopped, I’m not saying it’s not… however, this pictures were probably taken a few months ago, and if you look back in the archives you’ll find a post called “leggings look better on… whitney port vs hilary duff” dating from may, in which hilary actually looks quite thin (maybe not as thin as in the dnky ad but way thinner than she does in those other two pictures walking in the street). So maybe the ad is a little bit photoshopped (as most ads and magazine covers are) but I also think it might simply be that Hilary has put on a few kilos in the last two months, and the dkny pictures were taken before that…
I totally agree JS!! These pics were probably taken months ago. Sad to say that it doesn’t look like Hil put on a few lbs lately. But, I don’t think these are as photoshopped as everyone thinks!! She did look skinnier in that article with Whitney. Love the clothes!!!

I don’t think these pics are as photoshopped as everyone is saying. They were probably taken months ago when she was thinner. Everyone does some photoshopping! Even for Gisele…they photoshopped out her pregnancy belly!! So, maybe Hil has put on a few lbs. recently. I think she was skinnier when she took these photos.

The second photo just looks totally weird.
And she looks at least 30 pounds heavier in her “real” pictures.
Sometimes these celebrites personally request the pictures are edited even more,as they do get to see them before they’re run off.. who knows.
I never realised Hill had gotten so much bigger, though. The last time i remember seeing her was in her music video “with love” – she still looked curvy but not to this extent. She looks a little overweight to me.
They always airbrush their bodies…why can’t they touch up the ROOTS? Ugh.
