Marisa Miller Brings the Quote of the Day
March 17, 2010 in Celebrity Quotes, Hot Models, Marisa Miller by Versus
“Because I did start [modeling] later I had a better idea of who I was and what I wanted. But at the same time, I do think it has almost everything to do with the fact that when my parents raised me and my sisters we were in the country, riding horses and getting muddy. There was just no importance placed on how we looked.”
“I was a tomboy. When I started to get attention for [my appearance], it was really uncomfortable because it wasn’t something that I even knew what to do with. When I started modeling it was kind of cool because it was my job, so I was able to embrace it in a different way. Even now, I put my work hat on and I can do anything, but in my off time, I’m not the girl that wants to be the center of attention.”
… says Marisa.

Marisa is one of my faves. Her and Doutzen. Love them for not allowing the pressure to get to them. Very different body types, but theres no doubt that theyre both very heathy and fit.
No offense, but why is it so many beautiful models always say, “Oh I never cared about my appearance, I was just a tom boy, I’m not comfortable with the spotlight. I was such a dork growing up” – I’m sure it’s true a lot of times, but It sounds so manufactured and annoying to me.
its the truth. my best friends is a model and gorgeous, and she’s a total tomboy. society likes these women because they exude a healthy, glowing image by being, fit, healthy and happy (inside).
Think about it, most models adult figures are reminiscent of an adolescent boys, can you image what they looked like when they were 10 or 12? It’s not a long strech to believe that many of them were tomboys in their youth.
Because it’s probably true. Contrary to popular belief, most models don’t hit puberty and then all of a sudden become sex goddesses.
Through the modeling, you begin to pick up tricks..what to wear, how to do your hair, how to do your makeup, and you get complimented a lot. I think it’s then when they start realizing their, “potential” so to say.
Yeah it must be really tough being beautiful. Thank goodness I’m so unattractive so I don’t get all that unwanted attention.
Ya, must be really hard to figure out what to do with those thousands of dollars.
Where is the part where she whines about being pretty?
you’re right
if only I was that beautifuuuul…
She looks great ,as usual, from the neck down but I can see long term sun damage starting on her face. I guess that’s the downside of doing all those swimsuit shoots, but she needs to start taking care of her skin if she wants to have her career in 10 years (the face is the money!)
Thank you! i thought I was the only one who noticed! Every time I look a pictures of her, I can only focus on her face because her skin looks so terribly sun-damaged and aged!!
I don’t know how old she is, but she looks close to 40 just by looking at her face.
I have said the same thing about her face the very first vs runway she done omg her skin!! was much worse she really does have very bad sun damage skin
when i first saw her on the vs runway i didnt know she was a new model i actually thought she was a retired famous model of days gone by or something she needs retin a ASAP
Wow she has a super long torso!!!! Looks amazing! <3
thats what i like the most from her
Her figure is great but I really don’t like her face. Btw I think that she looks German (I live in Germany).
Why is it that the majority of these hot, beautiful, whatever adjectives you can use to describe someone with these looks, always claim that they were “tomboys”? I find it quite annoying at times, is it they’re trying to be humble…?
Pretty body, but don’t like her face. She looks old…
exactly my thoughts… her face is ugly imo
Marissa is my favorite. I can actually see the side of her that she claims used to be a tomboy. She is really into surfing and doing different physical activities to stay fit. I don’t think it is that hard to believe that she grew up in the country and the good ol’ outdoors. Gah, she is so beautiful!!
I was a tomboy up until almost 20 years old. I actually bought clothes from they boys’ aisle. And people i have met after this phase really do not believe me i was like that. I even talked with people from my old highschool, they all saying that they couldn’t have not noticed me. There are cases of late bloomers and Marissa – considering all her interviews and what she says about her lifestyle and how she talks about herself completely fits the profile. Now i love her even more!
I’m similar. I was quite tomboyish in the way I dressed and I used to go climbing trees and such. There were only a few girly things I did, such as growing my nails out and wearing heels when I was a teen. I look so different from how I did then that, when I go back to my hometown, old friends don’t recognise me. One even looked at me as if I were insane and then walked away! I had lunch with her every day for several years and she didn’t even recognise me!
I think as well as there being late bloomers, there are also those that are afraid to make the change during their teens. I was bullied a lot and was interrogated and harassed about anything I tried that was girly, so I knew if I went all the way the bullying would worsen.
She looks old.Her body is good but her face is ageing badly.
Yeah her skin looks older than her body. How old is she anyway? But OMG if only ihad a body like that…..
