One voluptuous model in a bikini in the previous post, now one skinny model in lingerie, we’re keeping a perfect balance.
So here’s VS Angel Marisa Miller in a little movie where she shares with us the reasons why she loves her body – a little movie Victoria’s Secret made a while ago as part of “Love Your Body by Victoria” contest. More VS models and their reasons will be posted this week!

Honestly I think she looks emaciated. When I look at the bones in her lower back as she bends over I just feel slightly disturbed…

Used to love her a few years back when she was a bit healthier and less popular. I think she’s approaching the end of her VS contract and will probably be looking to sell her personal line of things which is why she’s becoming so vocal all of a sudden!
She looks haggard compared to the other angels, and really isn’t that interesting in candid like Gisele or Heidi

Well Versus we’re not really keeping a perfect balance, since one was a perfect picture for a magazine and these backstage pics of Marisa are pretty bad….
I didn’t think these pictures were bad – she looked the same during the show.
And I just meant that I am trying to feature women of various sizes, not that all pictures here are equally photoshopped / perfect / imperfect.

I saw the other pictures from her backstage photos and there were wayyy better ones to choose from. Again skinny is made to look bad and “curvy” is put in the light :/
I resent that. Here’s why:
1. You do realize that we work with certain photo agencies and I can only post the pics they’ve got.
2. Again, I do not think Marisa looks bad here – but if you do, then you shouldn’t blame ME for YOUR perception.
3. Marisa is all dolled up for the show, it’s not like I posted a pic of her when she rolled out of bed.
4. This post was about the video, the pics were just extra. And I thought the video was lovely.
5. How exactly did I put “curvy in the light”? The previous article was a factual article, there was no subjective element in it.
6. Some said that the picture of the naked plus-size models sitting down / bending was not particularly flattering – following your logic, those visitors could have said that I intended to make “curvy look bad” – but nobody did.
The thing is, I really like Marisa, her figure, her hair, her smile – So you are truly imagining things.
It’s not just with these Marisa photos, I have noticed it other times as well. There was a VS post with the angels and all of them had crazy expressions except Doutzen whose face looked the most relaxed and “pretty” – the [obviously] thicker one of them all. I just wanted to let you know how painfully obvious it is that this site is mostly geared towards curvy, that is all.
to alias – probably cause doutzen has the best face out of any of them anyway. not versus fault that she photographs flawlessly. even the random beach shots with her eyes closed – her face is just that fabulous….

What you’re saying is that I should find the most perfectly perfect picture of 4 models, a picture where they all look perfectly amazing – in YOUR eyes.
Because you see, in MY eyes, Marisa had a cute happy face and so did Behati, while Doutzen looked pretty, but a bit confused. However, I did not take the time or the effort to analyze who looked prettiest before I posted it, it really didn’t matter to me because I LIKED THEM ALL. Please understand that I can not read your mind and see who looks best in your eyes.
What I did was I searched for the most recent pic of a group of VS models – because again, the pic was not the focus of the post, the video was.
The fact that you call my site “Pro Curvy” based on the fact that YOU, not ME, think that the “thicker”, yet still not-precisely-curvy model looked prettiest in a post where you were supposed to look at a video where all models looked equally stunning is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS.
I find it sad that I have to explain this, but I will: This site is not Pro Curvy. It is not Pro Skinny either. It is Pro Natural, Pro Variety, Pro Beauty Diversity and Pro Healthy. I like many skinny celebs, I like many curvy ones, I like athletic and all other types – I like women that choose to carry their natural beauty, shape and size with confidence and class, women that know how to flatter it and how to dress it appropriately, women that are admirable, positive role models, whether they are skinny or curvy.

I agree with Versus! I think Marisa looks so beautiful in this set of pictures!!! Nobody can look perfect in every single picture. I’m sure she looks so much better than anyone who commented here!! There is a reason why she is one of the most famous VS models but we are not!
How are these pics of Marisa bad? Other than a personal preference that I have(I really do prefer curvier ladies, and would rather see someone like Kelly Brook in that outfit Marisa is wearing
), I think Marisa looks fine in the pics above and don’t see how they are intended to make skinny look bad. If she looks bad to me, it’s only because I don’t like her body and not because of the way she’s styled, made up, and photographed. I think they are excellent candids that captures Marisa, and not just her body, she looks cute up there and caught in a moment or two when she’s not necessarily trying to sell a product/label(and the first one looks like she’s checking herself out in the mirror, something I’ve done too, very silly and cute, IMO 
), she’s just being herself.
Versus most likely needs to get permission before she can post any pictures, she shows what she’s given if that’s the case, and if anyone should be blamed for “making skinny look bad” and “putting curvy in the light”, it should be the people giving her the pictures to feature on her site.

She looks less skinny than i thought she would, in pics her bones sometimes seem to pop out more. I have a love/hate relationship with her. She’s very beautiful and sexy, but I wish she had used more sunscreen in the past
And I know sometimes her stomach/abs look very…stringy, but I think that’s just how toned appears on her body. It’s due to genetics, because I’ve seen it on bigger people too.
Anyway, she’s not scary thin. She has an amazing body and a great personality. But more sunscreen from now on!

You don’t have to be Kim K to have curves. In that first picture I see a major curve in her back to her butt. In the second one, I see some hip curves. and HELLLLO her most obvious curves, those boobs. Get real.

I don’t see much of a curved, full booty there. I wouldn’t want that tiny thing. Yeah, she’s beautiful, and she’s got potential for curves, but she would look more beautiful with some more weight on her to add to those tiny curves. I think some of the V.S, models have lost their sex appeal when they got so thin. That’s just my opinion.
Maybe she likes tiny bootys. Everyone has a preference. I know so many girls who would kill for Kim K’s, but I think it’s such a gross unnatural shape and looks sloppy. You can’t look classy with that amount of curves. Well you can, she just doesnt wear the right clothes to accentuate them in a good way.

Well, some things depend on the body type. I have very similar body type to Marisa( narrow shoulders, narrow hips, slight waist, big boobs, I believe it is called lollipop nowadays) and even when I gain some extra weight ( up to 8 – 10 pounds) people still think of me as skinny. Although, I am 5’7”, I am generally petite. And I think Marisa is too.

Yeah, it can be. My sister is really curvy but never gains any weight in her back and you can literally see every vertebra, even when she’s not really bending. It totally depends on where you gain weight.
Even really thin women can have curves. If you have slim hips but a slimmer waist, then you have curves, however slight. That’s how most women’s bodies are made– a series of curves.
And I’m guessing she likes her butt because it’s toned and fits into itty bitty bikini bottoms.

Way too skinny, looks emaciated. I showed these photos to my boyfriend (plus a few more of her and Miranda Kerr from the latest VS show) and he was shocked. He used to be the no one VS angels fan, but this he found scary. He really liked Doutzen though, and so do I! She has a feminine and lovely figure, best of all angels by far!

a booty doesn’t have to be big to be a booty. Marisa has a nice ass. And while she probably uses padding sometimes, she is not a small B. The fact that Doutzen has small boobs has nothing to do with Marisa.

She doesn’t look over 5 foot 7 to me. I bet anything she’d be even more petite in person…as most models and celebs tend to be.

I really like this video: somehow she seems really honest and a fun person and at least she is articulate. Last night i was watching fashion tv, they had an interview with chanel iman and you just do NOT want to hear her talk. Anyway, i do see some booty and some curves but i think she lost some more weight recently and i am not so fond of that. She has a really nice body, probably my favorite amongst vs models, it’s tiny and has some strange proportions. I probably like her so much because i can really relate to what she has, though those abs are to die for and a bit far from what i could ever achieve. It’s strange how even though she has a long torso, her legs do not seem too short neither (and i’m talking about proportion over here, not absolute values). I would love to work out with her so maybe she could just spread that quite healthy attitude about one’s own body
I saw Chanel Iman on the Tyra Show and I agree; that girl has absolutely no personality at all. It was painful just watching Tyra attempt to interview her.
I’m not saying Marisa is the most interesting person alive, but she definitely has a lot to say, and she says it well.

Even though her body is not my idea of a perfect body, I certainly wouldn’t be complaining if I had hers! She may not be super curvy, but she’s toned, sleek and streamlined with some noticeable curves (more when you see her from the side than head-on).
I don’t think it is a given that she loves her body because she’s slim. Slimness isn’t the cure for everything. One might still have an ugly facial feature, spots, stretch marks, cellulite, unwanted hair, scars… i.e. there are plenty of things that can make you feel ugly other than not being thin.
I am tired with ‘petite’ always being misunderstood and misused to mean ‘slim’ because whenever I complain about being unable to find things that fit because I am petite (which actually means short with smaller proportions. You can be plus-sized and petite!), people think I’m bitching about being slim and I get viciously attacked!
I think she sounds fun, friendly and down-to-earth in the video. I don’t understand the expectation of her sounding smart in a video about ‘why you love your body’. What would people expect someone to say? ‘I love my body because it lacks the adiposis edematosa and striae that runs rampant among women of my age range and body type, and I possess a 0.7 waist-to-hip ratio, which indicates I am at the pinnacle of health and fertility.’?

Hmm, although she seems nice and looks ok in the video, I really think she’s too skinny. Her stomach and back look really fragile and to be honest: she doesn’t have any booty or boobs really. She has a pretty face and would like better with an extra 20 pounds. At this moment, her body looks quite childlike.

I just have to say that I do not feel that this woman is a curvaceous or voluptous woman. Her body is not “full and shapely”. She is petite and her “curves”, are her boobs, in my opinion. I do not find her attractive.
I do not find that having visible rib bones or a visible spine to be very attractive or sexy…and I honestly don’t think she has a booty, of course when a woman is sitting ther arching their back out, it might look like something.
Someone petite with a small booty, to me, would be Christina Aguilera (dirty/stripped timeframe), someone petite with a booty would be Shakira (“whenever wherever” timeframe).
Models have gone from healthy and slender (Cindy Crawford) to unhealthy looking and downright frail looking in my opinion. I think Doutzen Kroes is probably the healthiest looking model in VS today.
I don’t like her face, I don’t like her body. Although she is very slim, sporty with boobs. But…it does not work for me when it comes for her, I have no idea why. But IMHO she is just not sexy. At the same time staying in shape, in the perfect shape she for sure is, it deserves a highly respect. It is never easy and I appreciate how much effort she is putting. Let’s do not just judge her like it is easy to be skinny and have perfect abs, she is doing a lot for this!

You guys are kidding yourself if you think men don’t like petite woman! Hello? Woman who are petite look better in the long run. I hate to be blunt but men usually lie and say they prefer a curvey look – they dont really know what a curvey look is… they would probably say Marisa was curvey because she has a little bum. Honestly, men think a certain way. They see woman who are petite and if they have a little boob thats curvey to them – its the hard truth.
I think you are selling men short here. I’m sure there are men out there that do prefer someone that looks like Marisa, but I”m also sure there are men that do like curvy and really know what curvy is, and are not lying about it either. Why do people try and make it seem like men only like ONE type of woman? Men are not clueless idiots in this issue, they just seem to be ignored when it comes to this issue, or told they have no idea what they are talking about.
Honestly, most men dont even notice when woman gain or lose weight (until its excessive). I agree there are men that like other types – but most men want a woman who will look good in the LONG RUN (said from a man who knows what he’s talking about!). People who are larger to begin with tend to put on weight more easily and then their boobs sag too. I would say men like curvey but not unhealthy. A lot of people try to say “oh being curvey is being a woman…!!!” Well yes, boobs are natural and a butt is natural but eating cheeseburgers every day and weighing like 180lbs isn’t CURVEY its FAT. I’m sorry if that comes off as rude but its very true that men are turned OFF but overweight woman and I would say that every man I’ve ever met has said so in some way or form.
1. Men notice weight gain/loss, they either don’t care(as in, it’s not as big of a deal to them as it is to us), or they have been conditioned to not care/pretend not to notice. And there are those that do notice, care, and are vocal about it
2. Yes, men do want a woman that will look good in the long run, but a thin/slim/slender woman isn’t necessarily the only woman that will look good in the long run.
3. Some people that are larger put weight on easily, some don’t. Just like with smaller people, some of them will put weight on easily and some won’t. A person’s size isn’t the best indicator of that, and it makes me kind of sad that that is a way to try and justify why larger people shouldn’t be seen as being desirable. Some boobs will sag regardless of a person being larger or smaller, and some boobs will withstand sagging regardless of the person’s body size. Me, I’m in my 30′s, have fairly large breasts and a large body, I have had 3 kids, and my breasts don’t sag(and I admit to not wearing a bra all the time, and I shun underwire bras, all soft cups for me).
4. Yes, I agree with you that men like healthy.
5. Yea, I don’t like the whole “Real women have curves” bit, even though curvy is my personal preference, I think it’s a bit wrong and insulting to say only one type of woman is a “real woman”(BUT, you can be curvy and fat, just like you can be skinny and curvy, but I get what you’re saying

6. Ah, but not all men are turned off by overweight women. If the woman is still fairly well proportioned and carries herself well, some(not all) will see her as attractive and not be turned off by her. Granted, I can only speak of that from personal experience with one man, but I have seen plenty of overweight women with boyfriends or husbands that are still turned on by them. And I’d be willing to bet that most of them aren’t lying to their women and just trying to make them feel better and keep the peace

This is a mouthful, but I just have to say;
One man who “knows what he is talking about” does not account for the entire male population. Some men prefer a smaller frame, some a larger one, smaller, bigger, taller, shorter, curvier, boyish, thick, full-figured, skinny, athletic…ETC. Hell, there are even men called “chubby chasers” and men that want to see a truly large woman. Yes, some prefer little and petite too, but to make the broad generalization that that is it…you are sadly mistaken.
To say that “in the long run” a petite woman will look better is highly naive. A larger structured person won’t automatically gain more weight than a smaller person. It all depends on lifestyle and genetics, not stereotyping and assuming.
And, from my knowledge and life experiences…men do like curves, something to “grab on to” someone who does not have the same basic structure as themselves.
Men are still animalistic in nature, they want to “plant their seed” and search for a mate that looks fertile and can bear them children. Not one who is underweight and can not concieve.
Waist to hip ratio and proportion, regardless of size, is what is usually the big “thing”.
I almost guarantee you that if you took a picture of a tall and curvaceous woman with full breasts, slim waist, full hips/thighs and an ass then a picture of a petite woman with a very boyish shape, no waist, no hips, no ass, on thin pins…and ignored the face of both, I would say most would go for the less androgynous looking woman.
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, one person saying petite is better now and in the long run, is truly ridiculous. Boobs on any body will eventually sag. 180 can be a perfectly healthy weight of a woman at a certain height and body structure. Laila Ali, who is (5’10″) depending on her weight class for the fight, varies from 165-180+, and it is perfectly normal for her height and frame. She is also, gorgeous. Willing to bet that in 15 years she will be a hell of a lot healthier than Miranda Kerr or Marissa Miller.
Larger woman have trouble conceiving actually. If you read anything about science you would know that…. I’m not going to fight with the chuber’s here… I’d get squashed cause I’m not much of a fighter! LOL. No pun intended… You guys can say whatever makes you HAPPY!
lol. However, keep in mind that Thin people live longer, have less heart problems, have more energy and have many more health benefits – its been proven scientifically actually. And by thin I mean slender – not anorexic – if you are anorexic you have issues just like a chubby person would.
I do read science and research…that’s why I commented. Actually, thin people do not live longer…a person with a healthy heart lives longest, that could be a small or large person. There are actually newer studies that state a average or slightly overweight person with a healthy heart, will live longer than a normal or underweight person. I have researched this topic before in a college course… and I am sure statistics can bounce back and forth, but thinner doesn’t mean a longer life, and “fatter” doesn’t mean a shorter one.
Too thin people can have just as many problems health wise as too obese ones. Underweight women have just as much an issue as obese ones at conception. I have a friend who is a “chubber”, as you said, and that term is offensive.
Your “views” and “research” seems very limited…I hope you open your eyes wider in this world full of different desires, beauty, and wants.

I agree scarlette johanson is a good example of what I consider good curvey – slim. She has a tiny middle and good boobs naturally. But I think some people think curvey means like… your 180lb Mc’d chick with a double chin…. Thats different.

what are you expecting her to say for the question “why she loves her body”? she works very hard to get that beautiful body, so there is nothing wrong to love any part of her body. She is a model, it’s her job to keep fit, i believe nobody has forced her but herself coz she needs to keep her body look good to be on the runway.
In the first picture she’s a dead ringer for Jessica Simpson. She’s way too skinny!! even for Victoria Secret. I imagine V.S models to be buxom and toned and perfectly proportionate. This chick looks sick–and has a gross sallow undertone to her skin..obviously not too healthy. Even though I’m jealous of her washboard stomach, another part of me can’t help but think how poorly nourished she looks.

I don’t know, really. I don’t think so, but we’ll have to see, I guess.
It’s not official but there have been rumors for a while that one Angel’s contract won’t be renewed, and that a new Angel was going to get added. So she most likely did get fired.
I thought it would be Miranda or Doutzen, but their contracts seem to have gotten renewed. The new Angel seems to be Candice Swanepoel, but like I said, not official, VS doesn’t tend to release statements about that.
On VS website vsallaccess.com, there is a link of Supermodels, Marisa is not on there….i was really surprised, because i clicked on the link just to look for her….. personally, she and allessandra are my favorite angels…..why on earth would they fire her?? i would be really sad if they did
Geez, I love her body too. Marisa is my favorite VS model. She is so darn HOTT!!! The interview disappointed me a little…it was more superficial than some of the other models. Maybe it’s the good ole American accent that killed it for me. Ha! Oh well, She’s still super hot!
