Jessica Simpson Rocks the Runway

Jessica Simspon was spotted on the runway at the Ozlem Suer fashion show in Paris, wearing a dramatic black gown that revealed her back.

And here’s an inspiring comment from Jessica:
“No matter how much money you spend to make yourself beautiful – With all the products, the diets, the plastic surgery – in the end women need to fall in love with themselves and realize they’re beautifully and wonderfully made.”

now i understand why designers like tall & slim models.
jess looks short and chunky and unflattering.
and i’m not trying to be mean, b/c i don’t think shes fat at all.
just a midget.
Yep.
I couldn’t agree more! The front part looks quite good if we compare it with her back. The dress is not her size at all and the effect is not pretty nice.
I think the reason why designers choose tall &skinny models is because they can put on whatever they want but a normal girl has to wear what best fits her. And definitely this is not the right dress for Jessica.
yep!
Jessica Simpson isn’t a midget…she’s like 5′3″
I agree with you though.
Very carefully done though. She wears all black for the obvious thinness effect, a gown that hides a lot, and the only person she stands next to is probably the designer who is pretty overweight.
maybe i dont understand fashion at all, but that dress is hideous and there is nothing interesting about it! it all looks so 80’s, and I hate the hair…
Jessica looks fine, I dont understand why so many people giver her crap for her weight – she looks healthy and its obvious she is trying really hard to be happy with herself.
Mizzy I guess we both don’t get fashion because to me even on the best supermodel this is just an ugly ruffled hefty sack. The dress is awful, the shoes and hair are awful and no sane women would look like this in public unless it was halloween and she was bride of frankenstein. I wish everyone would stop making excusing for crazy designers that make unwearable clothes that only look good on pin thin girls (similar to a hanger with legs) because they don’t know jack about movement and shape. Donna Karan, Versace, Ralph Lauren these are designers that know all the different shapes and sizes of women. Ok I’ll get off my soap box now.
All that being said Jess is very pretty but, I must agree even if this dress weren’t hideous the cut is not for her shape. The whole look just doesn’t do her justice. Although, I am hard pressed to think of anyone that it would.
all of the desigers you listed, particularly versace have some pretty outlandish clothes as well. not everything seen on the runway is meant to be worn by everyday people. its a form of expression, another form of art. and trust me, this dress would look MUCH different on someone like gisele or adriana….and you’d prolly like it more.
I know I, personally, wouldn’t like it on them. If I don’t like it on someone that falls under my personal preferences concerning the female form, I HIGHLY doubt I would like it on someone I think is too thin
But atleast they wouldn’t look sloppy in this. Her body just looks sloppy because its showing off every bad part of her body. not flattering in the slightest.
On the same token, it would show of the SAME bad parts on those thin women.
Also, it would look just as sloppy because the dress itself is sloppy. Bad fabric choice, should have been a thinner/less stiff fabric, structured differently, and definitely get rid of that big fluffy/ruffly collar.
WOW! jess is looking fat again…
back fat !
The reason why curvy models aren’t allowed to do HF shows!
No designer wants to look any of his collection to be awful!
Not true, Crystal Renn did a Gaultier show and looked great!

Ooo, she looks like a wood nymph.
no! wood nymphs are thin!
LOL, no they aren’t.
It’s not the woman that’s wearing the dress that makes it look awful, it’s the dress itself. Don’t understand why it needs that big, fluffy, ruffly collar. A simple asymmetrical, or a halter style, would really change the way this gown looks.
And LOL, if the designers weren’t lazy, the dresses would look phenomenal on models that aren’t thin. I never got it, the clothes are made to be put on women, why do they want to show off how they would look when they are hanging up(and don’t get on me for insulting thin women here, THAT is what the major justification is for using thin models, they are only there to show how the dresses “hang” and a woman’s natural curves that come with not being too thin get in the way of that)?
spot on! thank you!
Uh, designers choose thin women because they want to show off their creations. They want to be able to freely create what they want, with the colors, shapes and patterns that inspire them, WITHOUT having to worry about hiding lumps, bumps, cellulite or other imperfections.
It’s up to the customers to find and wear what suits their own shape and size.
LOL ya, ok. Not all non-thin women have lumps, bumps, cellulite, or other imperfections that need to be hidden, and not all thin women are imperfection free(IMO, bones sticking out isn’t exactly perfection, and I have seen cellulite on those bone thin women, not saying all thin women are that thin, just showing that not all thin women are “perfection”). They choose thin women because it’s easier to make clothes “hang” than it is to make clothes that actually work for women of ALL shapes and sizes. Some of those clothes I’ve seen them put on the thin women would look loads better on a fuller figure, thin doesn’t actually mean that a woman really CAN wear what ever she wants, just like the “fuller” gal has to dress for her shape, so does thin.
Well, of course it’s easier to make clothes that don’t work for all shapes and sizes. Hardly anything works on EVERY single body shape, obviously. The goal of a designer is not to make clothing that’s universally flattering, especially in high fashion. It has nothing to do with them being lazy, but their goal is not necessarily to sell to the masses and be commercially successful, it can just be to make beautiful, unique clothing.. and the best way to show it off is often on thinner models, because thin women CAN pull off more styles. And I am NOT saying that means they are more attractive, sexier or better, but it is incontestable, at least to me, that they can wear more ‘out-there’ things without looking as ridiculous as curvy women.
In YOUR opinion all that is so, but to me, it is ridiculous to try and sell us the idea that thin women are somehow better than curvy women when it comes to fashion, ANY type of fashion. If the designers got off their asses and actually TRIED, a curvy, or even overweight, woman would look just as good in “high fashion” as the thin women do(and some actually have, someone supplied a link with Crystal Renn in a High Fashion show, and she looked spectacular, a thin woman MAY have been able to pull that outfit off, but not with the same presence that she did). IMO, it IS laziness that has turned them to this, and using “art” to try and justify it? Sorry pals, I ain’t buying it.
the dress works for her from the front the back….ughhh… no comment
She doesnt look good.. back fat, saggy bubbies, plae washed out face, terrible hair, an over all train wreck… Jessica Simpson.. PLEASE go to India
I disagree somewhat, I think the dress works for her better than you think. It is just that she is a big girl, you can only do so much to hide the weight. The big puffiness hides her actual size. And she has been at this weight for a while.
Uh, she’s not a “big girl”.
I disagree the pleating on the waist area makes her look wider than she really is and i don’t think the puffiness does anything to hide her actual size (not that her actual size need hiding) She has very nice toned legs which are hidden except for in one picture
It is a pathetic day when Jessica Simpson is called fat.
That girl is NOT fat.
I’m willing to bet half the people critiquing her look a hell of a lot worse, thin or not.
I Agree!
As long as shes confident, then good for her.
agree! and just because they say ‘im way skinnier than her’ doesnt really mean a whole lot! jess is beautiful and does have a great body! i actually prefer her with more meat! granted she doesnt look the best here- dress is awful and hair and makup washes her out…but usually in candids she is stunning! and not many stars including models look that great at all in them
chunky then…if you don’t like the word “fat”
she looks horrible. she needs to fire her stylist, makeup artist, and hair stylist.apparently this is for yet another mtv show she has coming up.did they purposely pick the most unflattering dress for her to wear??
Jessica is a beautiful girl who I agree is NOT FAT. However, everything about this look is wrong, wrong, wrong, horrible hair, boring makeup, and a REALLY unflattering dress. Anyone should know that when you’re bigger you don’t wear big poofy things that make you look even BIGGER. I nice simple one shoulder dress in a pretty color would have made her look great but this….. gag
This dress is terrible and not flattering. Yes, Jess really looks chunky here. But she’s not fat at all. This dress adds her some additional weight.
That dress is UGLYYYYYYYYYYYYY! That’s all
She should be doing porn in a year. Its over Tub-O!
Not looking good at all, she does that dress no favors.
arm pit cellulite……….
obviously the designer don’t know how to dress a woman with curve
not flattering on that body type
SHES CHUBBY, OVER WEIGHT, CHUNKY, FLABBY, OUT OF SHAPE.. NOT Fat.. but any other of these adjectives would work just fine in describing jessicas current figure. the back fat, weird stretch marked side boob, saggy front boobs that desperately need a lift, and the corpse face shes rockin are frightening. she looks just awful!!!!
Undoubtedly, you look much better.
Wow. Whether shes fat, skinny, tall, short, wide, narrow etc., she looks AWFUL! But she is fat, she is short and she should definitely stay away from the runway. Stick to your shoes and the somewhat of a singing career thats left. Definitely showing Romo he made a good choice
Her face is beautiful but that dress is too tight on her back! A normal sized girl just looks awkward on the runway and even more awkward in high couture. Jessica is a lovely woman, just not fit for the pencil thin sky high runway look.
