Kelly Osbourne: I Am a Size 8

“I am a size 8 now since losing more than 14lbs from all the dance training. I’ve been that small before, but it was when I was taking drugs and was really unhealthy. Now I’m so fit and even my skin looks better – I think it’s from all the sweating!
“I am not loving my upper arms to be honest – I think I’ll start doing some weights to tone them up.”
In case you’re wondering, Kelly is 5′3” / 160 cm.

A UK 8 is a US 6 and I don’t believe that she is that size. Maybe on the top half, but definitely not on the bottom half- unless you’re talking about super wide leg pants with an elastic waist.
That’s not to say she looks bad. I think she looks great, but she ain’t no 6!
A UK 8 is actually a US 4.
If she’s referring to a US 8 that would be a UK 12.
It’s hard to tell from a picture. Some girls may be thick in their legs but the circumference of their hips can still be small.
i dont think she meant UK 8, i think she meant US 8
She looks tiny on Dancing With The Stars so I believe her. She’s an adorable little Pocket Venus!
I was watching the show last night and I was thinking that a lot of the women would be perfect for this site. Lacy Schwimmer, Chelsie Hightower, Kym Johnson and *ESPECIALLY* Mya are all fabulous examples of healthy, beautiful, fit, curvy women
Oh, yeah, sure she is. Stop lieing, please! Kim K. claims she’s a size 2, now this chic says she’s size 8! We have eyes, damn it.
I don’t want to be mean, but just look at those chunky legs – can they be size 8???
Um yes?
I’ve been a size 6, I was smaller then her, but not by much. She has strong, very curvy legs, but pants material isn’t made out of iron, it’s the same thing covering up her legs as if she had straight up and down legs who simply weren’t that thin.
Also, she’s tiny, so her legs are short, and they look bigger then they are. A size 8 5′3 woman looks a lot stumpier then a size 8 5′7 woman.
Kim K was totally lying. Just because you can maybe barely squeeze yourself into a size 2 doesn’t quite make you a size 2. I’m a size 2 and I don’t have a butt anywhere near as big as hers. I don’t know where she would fit it in size 2 jeans.
As for Kelly, I think she is a size 8. It’s a fairly big size, and she is short. Maybe she’s a 10 on the bottom, but she’s definetly an 8 the top. But I’m glad to see her dropping the pounds in a healthy way.
Size 8 is fairly big??? Ummm…okay…
I agree, size 8 is kinda big in the US and she is only 5′3″. I think she’s being honest when she says she’s a size 8. She still looks toned and muscular in the legs.
I agree with you Kae, size 8 is a medium(28″ waist/39″), don’t know how that can be considered “fairly big” for a healthy and fit woman like Kelly appears to be now, regardless of her height(well, unless we’re talking about a woman that is less than 4 and a half feet tall
).
Exactly, size 8 women are not big. I’m amazed at how some people on here think that a healthy and normal size is “fairly big”. This only proves my point from another thread regarding the bashing that goes on, even for healthy sized women. Why does have have to be super thin or super heavy?
I used the words “fairly big” to prove a point, which is that a size 8 is not the same as a size 0 and would be big enough for Kelly’s figure to fit into, meaning she is telling the truth. I did not mean “fairly big” as in size 8 is overweight, unattractive, or too large. We all know it’s not, and Kelly’s figure looks great for her imo. I’m sorry if the rest of my comment failed to imply that.
Maybe I misunderstood your comment. Thanks for clarifying…:)
No problem-o.
I type the same way I talk so sometimes what I’m saying doesn’t translate into text the best way. But yeah, I meant to say it’s not a shock that Kelly is saying she’s a size 8, it’s not like she’s saying she’s a size 0. I didn’t mean to say that size 8 is a large size itself.
i think she could def be an 8.. thats a 30 inch waist..
What size are you? If you are not a size 6 or 8. What do you know about what kind of body fits into a size 6 or 8
I’ve been a size 2, 4, 6 and an 8. I’m not a yo-yo dieter…just had teen baby fat, then slimmed down, then a kid, slimmed down then another kid and then slimmed down. I didn’t think I was overweight at any of these sizes HOWEVER, I know I wasn’t “thin” looking at the size 8 and I’m just under 5′6″. So I do think Kelly is telling the truth about her weight. Besides, it looks like Kelly carries her weight in her arms like Hilary Duff does, just her body type.

Kudos to her for losing weight, but i just don’t like these short dresses on her. I guess I’m just not a fan of her legs – good for her that she doesn’t seem to care.
I am an inch taller and wear a US size 6 and she’s definitely bigger than me. But we have different body shapes. She could be a UK size 8, I don’t know…
She’s definitely not a UK 8. I’m a UK 8 and fit in a US 2. I’m also 1/2 to 1 inch shorter than her.
Didn’t she say in People Mag that she was a size 4?
I dont like her at all she looks strange…i dont like anything : her body or face.
I can believe she’s a size 8 US – in a dress, not jeans. She’s got a pear shape.
(I’m a 2-4 in dress and 6 in jeans)
I am that way myself. I am a 4/6 dress and a 8/10 Jean (40 inch hips)!!
I don’t really know what to say about her size since i don’t live in the US and the converters in the internet just make no sense in comparison to what i’ve experienced shopping in foreign countries. I’ll say this: she could be a European 38 / 40 IMO. Which would be a size 10-12 i guess, in the UK. Whatever her size, she seems quite fit and healthy, i don’t think there’s any reason she would be lying, if she was i’d think she’d go ridiculous and say she’s a 4 or something.
No way she is a European 38, impossible. At the very smallest she’s a 40, and I would say she is more like a 42.
Yeah she probably is an 8 in a dress. But I wouldn’t believe it about the legs, although in the other pictures of ‘proof’ she looks so slim and great! I think also that this is a very unflattering dress. No ones commented on the dress and I nearly forgot but what a horrible dress!!
I’m a size 0, so I’m not too familiar with the actual body-makeup versus clothes size looks like past a 2.
But I don’t see why she would volunteer that information if she were lying, and especially an such an easy to figure out lie.
Camera adds weight; plus, she’s petite; plus, there’s vanity sizing which can alter sizes pretty drastically depending where she shops.
I believe her.
She looks great, good job.
yeah that’s got to be a us 8 because shes def not a uk 8. She still seems a little big for a us 8 though.
Does is matter so?
At least here’s a chick who:
– stopped taking drugs
– started exercising and living in a healthy way
That’s what, better then all the lazy asses out there who I bet half of them make fun of her.
good point
she looks fantastic and could totally be an 8 – a US8 = New Zealand 12 and she looks like she’d easily fit the 12s in our stores.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter, she looks fabulous.
Shes got great muscle tone in her legs, you can clearly see her collar bones, i’m not sure how she could be called quite big, her face is plump but thats her face shape and is not likely to change anytime soon!
I’ve started working out again and I’m scared my legs are going to look like that when I wear heels. Too muscly!
i don’t know what your legs look like but i’d say “an average” woman doesn’t have to worry about that, Kelly has always had quite muscular legs and a body that gains muscle well all in all.
Everyone is getting confused between UK and US 8, a US 8 equals a UK12 thats why people are sayin an “8″ is quite big they mean US 8 its like a UK12 wich isnt really tht big, but you know its not exactly thin so you get the jist.
I’ve lived in both places and a US 8 is more likely to be a UK 14, unless vanity sizing in North America has further increased the gap. It’s ridiculous because, unless you go there in person, you have no idea what your US size is because all the online converters are still stuck far in the past!
A US 8 is a UK 12. It’s always – 4 to find the UK equivalent.
Sorry that should be – 4 to find the US equivalent
Then why did I, as a solid UK 8 (no matter what store I go to, I’m always a UK 8), fit into a US 2 in 90% of the stores when I lived there? And in the other 10% I was between 000 and 0. The system is all screwed up.
A size 2 isn’t going to be the exact same size in every shop. In the UK a UK8 in Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins is bigger compared to Topshop or Mango.
All I know is that officially a US size 2 = a UK size 6, and so on, but I guess it won’t always add up.
It also depends on what state you’re in. I found the sizes in North Carolina way different to the ones in New York.
I’m aware that there is usually a difference between stores. However, I’ve lived in both the UK and North America for a number of years and have found myself to be an 8 in the majority of UK stores and a 2 in the majority of US/Canadian stores. With that experience it wouldn’t make sense for me to still believe I’m a US 4 when that was always too big and my weight hasn’t changed. The converters simply aren’t reliable any more. Especially if there are large differences between states.
I went a few times to some old second-hand shops and there I was a 6. In ordinary stores I was almost always in a 2. When I left (just about a year ago) I was fitting in sizes 000-0 more and more often. Vanity sizing is ruining everything. Not only in the US, either. In the UK I used to be a 10. The converters may be official, but is what they say real? I don’t know any more.
Everyone comes in all different shapes and sizes. People fit into clothes very differently. I carry my weight on my hips and thighs but I can share my size 4 jeans with my friend that has very slim thighs. Its all really weird
she can’t be a UK size 8 cause im a uk size 8 and im alot thinner than her her legs wouldnt get into the clothes i fit in also a UK size 6 and US SIZE 2 AND 4 she looks huge manybe shes a size 8 IN THE US thats a size 12 in the UK
yeah its been established she’s talking US sizing.
