In all the interviews of her I’ve ever seen she seems to imply that women are generally pathetic or unconfident creatures who cannot compare with her – for instance ” as far as girls go, I have a really bad ass personality” – so most women have lame personalities and men (+ Megan) don’t..! That’s how that statement sounds to me.

Agreed…I don’t think she understand what a feminist is. She has made several remarks about men that tell me she believes she’s above them, not equal to them, which is what a feminist is. She possesses an overconfidence and superiority that I cannot stand. This is probably what makes her rather unpopular with females, not jealousy and envy. Sure some females will envy her, but her public persona is what makes most females dislike her. I get the impression that people are attracted to her, both men and women, but I also get the impression that most people understand her purpose for saying such nonsense. It’s the classic attention whore celebrity. She needs to make outrageous remarks in order to generate attention and publicity. But here’s the thing: there are so many actresses who generate the same things without making ridiculous statements. So…in the end, she’ll be known for her looks and her attitude, and maybe she’s completely happy with that.

Yep she doesn’t seem to get feminism, like you said sometimes she implies that she’s better than men rather than equal to them. Other times as I mentioned she seems to be saying that she is equal to men but she ALWAYS seems to think that most women are inferior to her and men. I always thought feminism was that ALL men and women are equal and should be treated equally.
I’ve come across quite a number of self-proclaimed ‘feminists’ who think being superior to men is equality (because men used to be superior to women in power, tit for tat, etc.). They are often very disillusioned, defensive, bitter and hateful people.

The reason we are getting all these quotes and interviews from Megan right now is because Transformers:Revenge of The Falled in out in a few weeks, but she has mentioned it once there and no other times.
As a huge fan of Transformers it pisses me off, when the 1st cam out I really likes her. Thought she was beautiful and seemed quite charming in inerviews but now I could throttle her.

I think there’s a difference from thinking you are hot and thinking you are hot sh*t. With one, you think you’re good looking but not necessarily arrogant about it, but with the other you think you’re hot, you’re arrogant, and you treat people like they are less so than you are. Uhh Ariel, there are a lot of hot women in the world!!! We are the better looking gender. Then you add hair, makeup, clothes, shoes and other accessories and wow, you have a PLETHORA of choices! So…this idea of jealous and petty females hating on other attractive females works with some but not all. Some of us can enjoy looking at other attractive females and not feel jealous or envious, hence this wonderful website. We can look at other women and still feel okay with ourselves at the end of the day. I can celebrate women who have won the genetic lottery (although this girl is more the result of a great surgeon) without loathing them. There are very few women that I am actually jealous of.
Megan Fox, however, lacks any humbleness and this seems to be a problem among some celebrities. She seems to be very narcissistic.
Angelina Jolie is also hot and knows it, but strangely enough there aren’t throngs of women declaring how much they hate her. I believe it is more Megan’s attitude than anything else that brings such a negative reaction.

I don’t mean to sound arrogant, but I am a very attractive girl as well – I’m not as explicit about it as Megan is, I don’t over-sexualize my image, I’m more like a classy Charlize Theron-kind of girl.
I was always the uber popular girl in high school (against my will, as I am shy and quiet) and girls have done many cruel, evil things to me for the simple reason that the boys they liked… liked me. I felt like I did not deserve that and I just wanted to be left alone, I truly hated being popular, it was a nightmare and it came with a huge territory. For example, because I had a “hot” reputation, some girls spread this rumor that I was sleeping with 3 teachers to get high grades. Countless guys said that they’ve slept with me and created me a “slut” reputation, it was like they wanted me in their portfolio. I always believed in sex-after-marriage, so that really hurt me, it still does after 6 years.
I agree that girls (and guys as well) can be mean and envious if one girl from the same circle is very attractive.

I would never talk about it the way Megan does. I would never say things like “girls feel bad about themselves and that’s why they hate me”, that is so ignorant and rude. She sounds like she feels superior to the less-attractive people, like she’s better. To me, being pretty and gathering envy was a horrible experience, it actually made me dress in a conservative manner, wear less make-up and other such stuff to avoid getting sexually-related comments from people. But the way Megan talks shows that she loves the experience and she is basically bragging that she’s hot, not to mention that she does everything in her power to look hot – gestures, clothes, surgeries, everything.
I think Megan is very, very immature and, in a way, I feel sorry for her because she’s caught up in this “I must be hot, must be hot” thing and no woman should be reduced just to this.

The majority of women are able to enjoy other women’s beauty and confidence without turning into twisted, green-eyed monsters in the process, so her comment that women don’t like her for that reason alone, really shows her lack of intelligence. I understand what you are saying, but what I am asking is why take everything that she says so personally? None of us know her. It is not like she said this stuff to you in particular. If you know who you are and know you are not jealous of her, don’t get mad because she says some women are jealous of her because we all know that it is probably true. And if you read my previous comment you’ll realize that some of my classmates hate me, without,in my opinion, any reason. What? Your argument makes no sense. I’m sure if those words were from someone other than Meagan Fox, there would still be quite a response. And no, women wouldn’t rule the world if “they didn’t hate each other so much.” That is quite a simplistic and stupid argument. There are many women who are attractive and supportive of other women, while still being confident.
And I hardly think Meagan Fox is confident. Confident people don’t have to announce it at every bend and turn. They simply possess and exude it. I think it is ridiculous that she would call herself a feminist and that does not mean I hate her or am jealous. I just think it does women a great disservice when people like her speak.

Besides, she’s pretty much telling the truth – she’s hot, she’s in the film because she’s hot, the film doesn’t even attempt to explore the acting capacity she may or may not have because it’s a film about explosions and robots, not people. And I think she’s right about girls hating her because they feel bad. She’s number one on the FHM sexiest women ever list. She’s clearly pretty confident and unafraid to say what she thinks. She also panders, in the way she dresses and in her film roles, to what men find attractive – see her role in ‘How to Lose Friends and Alienate People’ and Transformers – so she’s seen to be concentrating on the male target audience and is therefore perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be hostile to the female audience.
Before I read this I didn’t like her because she’s basically the incarnation of everything I imagine my boyfriend to want – sexy, dirty and probably a freak in the sack. But now I see she’s intelligent and honest about the whole industry I just respect her more.

What I meant was that I understand why she feels superior, because the men she meets probably drool over her. That gives you a sense of power because you have something they want. In the extended interview she says how she sees old men at parties circling her and planning their moves, thinking she’d sleep with them, and I don’t doubt that and I’m sure lots of that would eventually decrease your respect for men.
I’m not saying they don’t. I think she seems pretty intelligent and willing to speak her mind in a way a lot of vacuous starlets who go on about being totally like oh my god psyched about this and that don’t. She doesn’t follow the standard gushing starlet line and she doesn’t care what other people think and I think men would find that intriguing. And she’s made it to the top of the FHM poll for the last two years despite all the “*beep*” she’s been saying, so clearly they aren’t that bothered.
And I don’t think boys are pathetic for masturbating, it’s natural and healthy. I just find the use of pictures and videos and porn gross and, yes, pathetic.
