On her diet and finding balance:

‘You know, I’m a carnivore. I really like to eat meat. I crave iron so I am definitely not the kind of person who you will find eating a salad. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy. I wouldn’t say I am the type of girl who craves Doritos but I definitely love a good cupcake sometimes. Or a croissant in the morning. I think it is like really important to give yourself a break. And also just really think about where things are coming from what kind of ingredients are going into your body.’

… says Emily.

On being chosen ‘Most Beautiful Woman in 2015′ by People Magazine:

“Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it’s just so hard not to say, ‘Oh, I need to look like that.’ No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying.”

… says 50 year-old Sandra.

On juice cleanses:

“Anybody is going to lose weight if they drink liquid all day long. That’s like lunchtime liposuction or freezing the fat cells off. You don’t own that change. The weight is coming back.”

On Hollywood beauty standards:

There’s a disease here—the disease is vanity, insecurity and the lengths of unhealthy behaviors people go to to achieve what they think is beautiful. The disease of ‘I’m not worth anything unless I look like that person over there.’”

On being pro body diversity:

“I think it’s changing, and that excites me. You take a Kim Kardashian, who is a curvaceous, voluptuous, petite woman—and she’s on the cover of Vogue! I like that. I think that’s progress. Lena Dunham, who is a buddy of mine, is on the cover selling magazines with her beauty and her light. She’s not all about giving women the same body: “I want to get away from ‘Tracy Anderson is going to make you teeny-tiny.’ I’m not trying to make everyone the same. To me, ‘hot’ is not defined by a height or weight or measurement; hot is going to the root of who you are.”

… says Tracy.

Candice Bergen: “I don’t enjoy eating lunch with some women who only have kale”

On talking about weight in her memoir, A Fine Romance:

“It was a scant reference on page 150 or something. I was just saying, I don’t enjoy eating lunch with some women who only have kale. I just find it limiting … I’d rather not go on, if that’s what I have to eat to fuel myself. I’m very comfortable. I mean, would I love to lose 10, 15 pounds? Absolutely. But I just haven’t taken the steps to do it.”

… says 68 year-old Candice.
