Demi Moore Gets Photoshopped in W Magazine
November 11, 2009 in Demi Moore, Photoshop Job by Versus

Oh dear, here’s another one. Let’s do the Photoshop count:
- check out those weapon-like collar bones…
- and those ultra-thin arms!
- of course, we can’t ignore the oh-so-tiny, virtually liposucked waist…
- or the slight boob lift
- or the lighter eye-color
- but wait, there is something that hasn’t been reduced in size: the hips – in fact, they’re bigger, rounder, curvier. Real Demi has a slight cornet shape and “curvy hips” aren’t one of her features. Fake Demi, well, she is a skinnier AND curvier version of real Demi (paradoxically)
- and how about that 20-something face?
Come on, you W Magazine photoshoppers, Demi doesn’t need any of that! And we don’t need utopian standards either – Real Demi is already a very good looking 47-year old.
See more after the jump!

Hello Barbie.. That’s so far from Demi’s body it’s not even amusing. Blah blah.
My question is: Why?
The photoshop in these pictures is so extreme, it’s like they draw a different woman actually.
They created totally different woman :/
Demi is a beautiful woman who looks sooo perfect at her age and I don’t think that playing 20 is appropriate in her case. W Magazine should stop playing hide-and-seek with readers because you sometimes have to consider WHO is on the cover cuz u totally can’t recognize a celebrity :/
this is wrong on so many different levels…
She looks more like Jennifer Connely on the cover! I like the outfits. I have to admit, she does look gorgeous even though I think it’s messed up that they changed her so much.
Wow, she does look like Jennifer Connely!
I’m also getting a Courtney Cox vibe in the second and third pics.
And the nose on the cover is definitely NOT hers.
Come on, W! Do you think we just fell off the turnip truck?!?
This photoshopping business has become such a joke for so many reason. First of all, it means that even the people we perceive as being the ‘most beautiful’ in the world can’t achieve the level of beauty these magazines are trying to portray, so good luck to the rest of us! Second, these magazines pay these stars millions of dollars to appear in their magazines and they are barely recognizable half the time…they might as well just pick random people off the street and pay them pennies if they are planning on digitally retouching every detail of the person’s face/body.
I agree completely!!! I thought I was just PMSing because I felt so pissed when I seen this pic. Now I know that I’m not the only one sick of all this excessive photoshopping. It’s like there is no reality anymore. It’s all been skewed. If I were a celebrity I would want to feel like my pics on magazine actually looked like me, not some “Idealized” version. I think it’s sad and pathetic. Whatever happened to just erasing the little things like a blemish or stretch mark, it’s gone so over-the-top. ARGHH!
In other news, the earth is round.
Haha, I love this!
WHY!?! I mean: every women of her age would kill to look like her, why photoshop? It’s so stupid…
Exactly!
The only thing I like about the photoshop is that they gave her hips, but I really dislike how they did the face and arms! Real Demi has a much better face and arms.
Photoshop can really do wonders………..
Disgraceful. And she’s beautiful IRL anyway.
I wonder how Demi Moore felt after looking at these pics
hmmm..
hmmm again..

ugh. Toxic cues on so many levels I’m not sure where to begin. Love what Mizzy said, re: “even the people we perceive as being the ‘most beautiful’ in the world can’t achieve the level of beauty these magazines are trying to portray…” as that’s a “media literacy leave behind” I plan to impart time and again to those influenced by these illusions, which we cover on Shaping Youth (media/mktg’s impact on kids). argh.
As for the photoshop attempts to ‘improve’ Demi? They’d appeal to…? It’s so distorted all I can see is the ‘Dove Evolution’ commercial playing in my brain relay. http://www.shapingyouth.org/?p=113
Bill Cosby has a saying I keep on my wall, “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” Never thought about it in the context of ‘body image’ but clearly, it universally applies. sigh.

WHAT THE
ridiculous. If I were her, Id be embarrassed, especially by those who know that her real self is looks nothing like W magazines’ “idyllic” portrayal..
Does anyone know if the actresses/models approve of the shoot before they hit the stands? if she approved these.. I find it pathetic and sad.
This makes me so sad. I think I have to shut out magazines and these websites. It’s not even about weight anymore…it’s about not letting women age. Or even having their own body parts. Even the beautiful women won’t have it forever…it’s getting terrifying. I’m all about photoshop to whiten teeth or cover up some undereye circles. But really…this is depressing.
Demi is a gorgeous woman! It doesn’t honor her true beauty to photoshop her in this manner, the folks at W magazine should be ashamed of themselves!
Wow…did she get more work done? I mean, I knew the boobs weren’t hers, but it looks like she got a nose job, ribs removed and her hairline filled in…not to mention a bit anorexic. Geez…is that really Demi??
Omg, this photoshopping is so severe that it doesn’t even look like Demi anymore! Who do they think they’re fooling? We all KNOW how she really looks like from her recent candids, so why lie about her appearance so blatantly?
So where are the pictures of Demi? I can see one…
It’s sad that even the most beautiful women just aren’t perfect enough for these magazines. I don’t see why it’s so necessary…it’s not like we’d be disgusted by what they really look like.
i dont get why photoshopping people isnt banned demi is beautiful i dont get why someone would photoshop her but my view is they need to cut out airbrushing people
This is the reason why women in our society hate themselves, and are becoming addicted to plastic surgery. Unfortunately, the only way magazines will stop is if we stop buying them, and ban the products they are selling. But, will we??
[...] is most certainly not the real 47 year old Demi Moore. Her waist is smaller, her hips are wider, her boobs are higher, her arms are thinner, her face is [...]
