Pregnant Kristen Bell Brings Today’s Quote

FFN_g_50990159 - Pregnant Kristen Bell Brings Today's Quote

On how pregnancy made her love her body:

I look in the mirror and I think it’s the reverse body dysmorphia because I can understand what my shape is but I see Brooke Shields. And, it doesn’t make a lick of sense but it’s something that the baby’s giving me hormonally makes me feel really giggly and happy.

… says Kristen.

oh, yay! I LOVE KRISTEN BELL! She is so cute. And so pretty!

And that’s a funny quote haha.

  • lc

    Eh she’s boring.

    • violet

hi lc 🙂 I agree, she’s unbelievably BORING in both looks and personality!

      • lc

Hi violet! 🙂 Yes, she is. This quote isn’t exactly enlightening or anything.

      • serena

Violet, I feel the opposite, I have seen many interviews with her and she is quite funny – plus she’s a good actress!

        • IY

I agree! I don’t understand how someone can find her personality boring. I think she’s adorable and absolutely hilarious, she and Jennifer Laurence are my favourite celebrities personality-wise.

  • Lauren

  • Natalia

I don’t get it. She looks at herself but sees Brooke Shields? wtf

    • Aafje

I believe she means she means she is pregnant and has a large baby inside her but she looks in the mirror and feels hot?

  • Natalia

Oh I get it now, funny she used Brooke she is a model from the 80’s, n not a more current one.

    • haha

Well I guess we tend to have for idols people we admired when we were young.

  • Neri

I LOVE HER and her love for sloths! It’s just so sweet. And she looks absolutely gorgeous! 🙂

    • Powwow

Haha I loved her crying over that sloth! So funny!

    • MissMarilyn

HAHA i saw that on ellen. So funny

    • Mia

That made me adore her. Soooo cute

  • ary

ok, i’m starting to feel a bit brainwashed with all this pregnancy is soooo good…. or maybe not 😛

    • Ana

Lol me too! I’ve never heard so much about pregnancy until I came to this site.

    • Aafje

nothing these famous people say will persuade me to want babies.

    • Mia

Just like with everything, every woman has a different experience. I have friends who LOVED their pregnancies and felt great the entire time, while others I know had morning sickness the entire 9 months. But at the end of the day, no one who wants to have a child hates their pregnancy, even if it was extremely difficult.

      • Powwow

        Exactly Mia!!

      • sea330

I agree. I’ve heard so many women talk about how they loved being pregnant and they miss it when it’s over. I’m currently 5 months and this has been the hardest time of my life, and I didn’t expect it to be like this. I just keep reminding myself of my little guy in there and it gets me through. Every time I feel him move it reminds me that all the physical stuff is worth it. I don’t think I’ll miss it when it’s over though!

      • thinmint.

        Speak for yourself!! 😉

  • Ana

She looks so old in candids. As for her quote, I’m too tired to make sense out of it.

    • Aafje

Really? I think she looks older in the red carpet pics with all the make up than she does makeup-less in candids

  • sara

ahhhaaahha that’s a great quote!love her since veronica mars(best show ever), she’ll always have a special place in my heart!

    • MissMarilyn

VERONICA MARS IS SO GOOD. netflix took it off before I could finish them all =/

    • Indigo Lace

Mine too. I love her from V. Mars and the movie “You Again”.

  • Polly

What is so difficult to understand what she’s trying to say… Although in reality she’s big because of her pregnancy, when she looks at herself in the mirror and thinks “DAMN I look good!”.

    • annabanana

I never thought brooke shields had that great of a figure though…? other than being tall and slim? her face is what was so extraordinarily beautiful.

  • jemima

I adore Kristen Bell. Definitely one of my favorite celebrities.

    • Debbs

I really like her too. I remember seeing her in a lifetime movie years ago and thinking, Why isn’t she more famous? I think Veronica Mars came out very soon after!

  • She’s so adorable – the sloth thing was what did it for me, never felt much for her before that!
I totally believe in reverse body dysmorphia – or maybe it’s just thinking *too* positively! I do it myself sometimes – I think I look quite slim in the mirror only to have a rude awakening when I see a photo! Being positive is the best thing for your life in general though – so a little self-delusion is okay…. 🙂

    • Mia

      I’m the same way 🙂

    • ary

lol, yup, it’s so much better to have a optimistic delusion than a pessimistic one! Children do it all the time, and that’s why they are so filled with life 🙂

    • Debbs

Yes Erica! When I was overweight, I didn’t see it in the mirror and I was shocked when certain things wouldn’t fit me. Though when I saw pictures, I understood!

    • jenna

Don’t pictures make everyone look a little bigger than they are? I think this because I’m friends with some people (guys and girls) who are extremely thin in real life, but in pictures, they look normal/average. And anyone I know who is average in real life (myself included), tends to look a tad big in pictures. I never judge myself too harshly from pics.

      • annabanana

yep! i think this is true too. I’ll be thinking i look great and then see a photo and i’m like… damn i look big. But I dont, I’m very slim in real life, its just the photos!

  • Sidney

Goes to show how it’s kinda difficult to convey a spoken message when it’s just written as heard, not in a way that you would if it were originally meant for a written medium. She said this on Ellen, and it was very clear 🙂 She just feels hot and pretty because the hormones are making her feel good, though in reality she knows her body obv isn’t all that (conventionally) sexy due to the pregnancy. I can only hope for a pregnancy such as hers 🙂

    • serena

Yes, exactly – she meant it in a joking way, not a literal body dysmorphia way (in case anyone takes it too seriously lol). On a side note, I love Kristen – she is so funny on the Late Late Show, a good actress, and nice personality to boot. I also like her accent/voice.

  • Tinkerbell

She’s very-very pretty. Good for her feeling comfy in her skin & hot 😀
What’s with the wedge trainers these days though? I hate them more than… any of the fashion trends these days. I believe they’re comfortable but come on.. they just look awful & trashy IMO.

    • Randi

I posted about the wedged sneakers below before I saw your comment. I’m totally with you. Some of the fashion trends just go over my head.

  • Loxy

Yay, that’s so great to hear! I wish all expectant mothers would feel this way.

  • Josephinee

Kristen Bell, why are you so awesome?

  • Melia

I really like her too. She is always funny and entertaining in any interview I have ever seen of her.

  • Pixie

That’s great that she feels that way. I felt that way too, up until my last trimester, and then I felt huge and puffy and extremely uncomfortable. My feet were swollen and I waddled when I walked, was a very difficult last 3 mths.

  • Hh

Alright. And what? And I think it’s so lame when celebs name drop other celebs and compare like hehe not as cute as her but…giggly! Lame.

  • retrobanana

    she is one I like!!!!

  • nessa

she is so so cute. her face is adorable.

  • Puppe

She looks good, why people say she is boring ? Normal woman with a job, some dont need to do something crazy or pose naked to be less boring or anything like that 🙂

  • Randi

Are those wedged sneakers? I’m not a fan if they are. I think the idea of them is just silly.

I like Kristen, however. She’s so adorable when she’s on Ellen. Her and Dax seem like a really sweet couple as well.

  • Adriana

She loos and sounds cute and I can see where she is comming from with her quote and I like her positivity but she could have described her feeling’s differently or used another word instead of BD.
I just don’t like when people joke about mental issues like body dismorphia, it’s not funny and shouldn’t be taken so lightly.

    • Adriana

      * Oops I meant looks & feelings.

  • lksndf0984no

she has no real acting talent. just as soon as her cutsie looks start to go……so will all you lamo fans of hers. I’ll bet her son will not appreciate her total disregard for his feelings when he has to endure the taunts throughout his childhood from other kids that he was a bastard baby. but hey, all that really matters to her is that she is in the spotlight right now. nothing could be more selfish of her and cruel to her baby. Just my opinion.

    • serena

She and Dax have been together 6 years and live together. Many people nowadays are choosing not to get married; after all, marriage exists mostly because of religion (many people aren’t religious), financial reasons (they’re extremely rich so this is not an issue) and legal reasons (like being allowed to make medical decisions for your partner in emergency). Unless their kid ends up in a very conservative, I doubt he will be teased for being a “bastard” years from now. I went to Catholic schools and this was never an issue even there.

      • MissMarilyn

I agree Serena. Kristen Bell and her boyfriend’s relationship seems much more stable than a lot of married couples I have met, and many end up having kids a few months/a year after getting married only to get divorced soon after, which is A LOT more pressure and hardship for the child than being a bastard is.

Also no one gets teased for being a bastard. Please, like what century are you even from. I am about to complete my schooling and have never once throughout my entire life heard anyone being teased for being a bastard, or even have heard it be mentioned by anyone. When people are in elementary school they don’t even realize what that is or what that consists of and by middle school… honestly? no one really cares. Even in very conservative areas and from very conservative people I have not heard that used as a bullying mechanism.

She is gorgeous! Her face is super pretty 🙂
