Rihanna recently added a little extra “spice” to her already-edgy style and the result is… a little see-through at times and a little sexy-power-girl with Lady Gaga influences at other times.

it’s different – REALLY different. but i think she just enjoys playing with fashion. and i think that’s what it’s all about. if i had the money – and the designer clothes – i would definitely wear edgier clothes, too!
i doubt she enjoys exploiting herself in this manner. surely she is pressured to dress like this and “push the envelope” by her management. no self respecting person would feel comfortable in the stuff shes been wearing recently.
anyway, my heart goes out to her..its quite sad….

Not all of her clothes are the big bang, I must admit. But she definitely has a sense for dressing wild. And more important, she does it.
Edginess is cool and somewhat original, but her edginess is starting to border sluttiness. I mean its like shes naked all the time lately and this is the girl that said she’ll never pose nude cause her mom would kill her. Then her naked pics slipped out and now her see thru clothes are just so obviously proving that it was indeed her (before we could speculate). I wonder what her mom thinks now. I think when people with paparazzi exposure wear see-through clothing it is always on purpose. As if they don’t know by now what a flash does to sheer fabric.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Her “edgy” style before was one thing. (Although it’s what mocked teens have been doing all over the country for decades.)
And it’s another thing to homage your fashion icons. However, Rihana is clearly not borrowing from Lady Gaga, but is using entire concepts.
Personally, I’m not a fan of Lady Gaga or her style. (But I do like her music.) However, she was the first celebrity (not neccesarily the first person) to take a – dare I say it – FASHION risk of that amount. And by basically copying, Rihana is pinning her self for some serious ridicule.
MAAAANY musicians/celebrities take a so-called “dare” and wear risque, eccentric fashions.. Remember Cher? or are you 14? Rihanna is not copying Lady Gaga in ANY way… if she started sporting a long bleach blonde wige, with geometrical chopped bangs then maybe Id give it to you.. maybe.
I DO remember Cher. And all those sparkly, shiny outfits and the funny headdresses.
Perhaps saying that she was copying Lady Gaga was a bit extreme, but you at least must give me that it’s a lot easy to take a fashion risk when someone wore something of a similar idea a few weeks before. Just because people wore neon tights and oversized sweatshirts in the 80s doesn’t mean someone twenty or-so years later is going to do so without seeing that it’s ok with some other big-shot first.
Copying Cher, or Lady Gaga, or neither – there is no reason to be wearing science goggles in public. I don’t care if Rihana wears it: it’s not fashion.

Never picked up a Bible in my life, wear bikinis and revealing clothes myself (not to Rhianna’s level of course, I have a sense of decency as well) but still think she’s classless.
Fashionable and cutting-edge does not mean revealing.
Besides, that’s quite a plain dress, just see through. If she was trying to make a fashion statement with it, she would have made sure to cover her assets, literally. Or at least used a nude colored thong, as most fashionable celebrities do when they wear daring clothes.
Her lack of regard for people seeing her underwear is what makes her outfit and her tacky and classless, and is the reason why people are calling her slutty, because sluts tend to not care if people see their underwear/body parts either.
Also, this is the 3rd revealing outfit she has worn in a month, not just a dress she has decided to wear in support of a particular designer.
As for her being an international popstar? In most countries she wouldn’t be allowed to walk outside like that.

Yes, I understand the dress itself is see through but not that see through, but if you’re Rhianna you know you’re getting photographed and you know what the end result will be. What’s tacky about her that everyone is picking up on is the fact that she chose to wear the dress anyway. “I don’t care that you can see my bare a** in this dress, I’mma wear it anyway.” Yeah okay, that’s fine, but that’s not classy to me, sorry. And so, if you’re Rihanna, you should by clothes, go home, put them on in a room with strong lights, bend over in front of a mirror and then – probably between your legs, take a picture of your butt; then run to your PC to download the picture and ANALYZE anything and everything.

No but I expect her to look down, see that her thong is showing already, and then assume that it’s going to be worse if she bends over and paparazzi take pictures using flash, because that’s common sense.
I would also expect her to try on a nude thong and if it still looks like it’s going to show, go with a different dress.
And I’ve certainly never been flawlessly dressed, but I can guarantee that no one has seen my thong or my goodies.
I understand the fashion WHOOPS with that black dress. Should have gone with boyshorts… On dance team, all the girls had problems with thongs showing through our dance pants due to them being a)tight and b) under the stage lights. We had to wear black leggings or tights under them. So embarrassing.
I would like to see the thong-getting-into-car-shot as an entire outfit, not just one unfortunate snapshot. And she IS being aware of how to not look as slutty–if she were Britney Spears we would have gotten a straight up ass picture instead of just the clear outline of her underwear (and let’s all say a thank you that she is wearing underwear, something else celebrities ignore). If you think she’s being slutty, at least she has the awareness to try to cover her butt when she’s getting into cars and actually wear underwear!

And as for her wearing underwear, yeah she did, but she has recently worn an more daring, even more see-through dress without bra or panties. The dress was in stripes and darker over her private parts…until she moved and flashed everyone. Her exposing her nipple ring through a see-through shirt is also another example. So no, I don’t think she has awareness to cover up, and she doesn’t actually wear underwear. Only sometimes.

i saw the dress from the front and it looked even more tacky from that perspective, too tight and too see trough. looks like something my Barbie’s wore in the 80’s..
