They came, they partied and they already left: the pretty celebs and their pretty (or less pretty dresses) at the Academy Awards!
In this colorful bunch, we get to see… Carey Mulligan who rocks her short do and whimsical dress (with tiny hanging forks), Queen Latifah who looks really good in a very flattering dusty pink dress that accentuates the curves of her figure, Rachel McAdams in a number that looks like a painting, Sarah Jessica Parker who opted for a non-structured silhouette (quite rare at the Oscars), some ruffles, some prints here and there, lots of updos, lots of pale colors on even paler skins and many many more.

I think iley Cyrus has a beautiful dress!
I thought I would never say this about anything Miley wore but I actually really like it too. She looks stunning.
The dress is lovely, but her posture just killed me. I just wanted to smack her and tell her to stand up straight.
Lol! Same for me! Absolutely hate it when celebs can’t stand straight up on the red carpet!
It was the same for Kristen Stewart!
Queen Latifah is glowing
Gabourey Sidibe is so gorgeous! I love her stylist! Also Kate winslet was a bit disappointing in the dress area bu her hair and makeup was the epitome of hollywood glamour. And JLo Wow! Dangerous curves
I hate how latley so many celebs have forgone being pretty in attempt to being edgy.
Anna Kendrick looks pretty
Demi moore looks really pretty too, but quite skinny! And Zoe Saldana looks gorgeous from the waist up, but the bottom half is really weird…
And I love SJP’s smokey eyes!
Anna Kendrick – Love her dress, she looks like a Roman statue.
Diane Kreuger – Not the best dress, but looks goon on her.
Sigourney Weaver – Simple and stunning.
SJP = Love it. She’s always fashionable.
Queen Latifah – Love it.
Mariska Hargitay – Don’t know who she is, but I want her dress.
Everyone else was a complete miss in my opinion. The dresses were either too plain, or just did not fit well with the person. But out of all of the pictures here, Anna Kendrick wins. She looks perfect.
Tina’s dress does not do her justice! It is terrible!
Deborah’s looks so washed out with that color.
I loved Zoe’s until I scrolled down – can you say party lei?!
Mariah’s dress reminds me of something grandma wore to church.
Vera looks like a coral reef.
Maggie looks like she is going to senior prom.
Mo-Nique should have worn something to flatter her figure, not detract from it.
Favorites of the night were Miley, Penelope and Cameron, loved Mariska too!
Everyone else looked pretty good too, some amazing dresses and beautiful women!

WTF: Zoe salanda what was she thinking?, diane kruger expected more from her usually dresses nice, vera famiga wtf, jlo good but weird material and dress would have looked better with out the thing sticking out from the side, charlize therons dress is nice but frames her boobs which looks weird. amanda seyfreid enormous dress

I think that Miley Cyrus (I’m not a great fan of hers), Kristen Stewart (it’s really rare to see her in a long dress) and Penelope Cruz looked the best… Also, Queen Latifah’s dress was perfect for her….
Zoe Saldana’s outfit was a total miss!

Anna Kendrick, Penelope Cruz, Queen Latifah, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and Cameron Diaz were my favorites, but OMG Sandra Bullock looked amazing! Love, love, love that look on her.
Helen Mirren looked really great, by the way. She looks beautiful at her age; very sexy, but not tacky.
Kristen Stuart looks cute!
Penelope Cruz, Diane Krueger, Sandra Bullock and Mariska Hargitay (she’s from Law and Order SVU) looked stunning. I also loved the two really young ones, Kristin Stewart and Miley Cirus, both looking very cute and classy all dressed up.

LE: SJP – whom i don’t usually like – rocks that dress. She looks really really tiny but she somehow manages to stand out.
okkk, so i forgot about Cameron Diaz who was a very pleasant surprise, and need to say Sigourney Weaver and Anna Kendric – both extremely elegant and refined, just not my cup of tea for some reason.
miley cyrus is beautiful in jenny packham. and i love zoe zaldana in givenchy such a bold choice. dianne kruger always stands out and the chanel dress is great on her. i also love rachel mcadams in ellie saab. the colours and the lines are lovely. kate winslet took another yves saint laurent gown like last year. personally i think she was better suited to the stella mccartney from the baftas. all in i think 2010 was a winning year on the red carpet. loving the trend for pastel shades which is often very hard to pull off. i like the fact that there wasnt much black although carey mulligan was stunning in that prada dress.

usually I’m not a fan of Miley Cyrus, but this time she looks amazing! She’s definitely my favourite here! Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and Sandra Bullock look great!
In all, I was very impressed. I thought that there were no people that actually looked AWFUL, like there are some years. I thought that Sarah Jessica Parker and Demi Moore looked STUNNING.
I totally agree with the comment that celebs are trying to look edgy rather than look good, and it’s really annoying – what happened to the glam everyone wants to see?!
On that note, Cameron Diaz almost never lets me down and she looks gorgeous here too

Charlize- f dit strange dress, can’t say i like it but i think she pulls it off
Gaborey- could have done better
Monique- love her look, this electric blue color looks great on her
Sarah Jessica- weird dress but i like it, and she definitely pulls it off
Maishka – looks good, love the deep blue color of the dress
Queen Latifa- looks very good, the dress shows curves nicely
Carey mulligan – love the dress and shoes but it doesn’t look good with this short haircut
Anna Kendrick- my Favorite look! She looks fantastic, beautiful dress and her hair looks perfect for it, wow
Kristen – she looks OK, very womanly and sophisticated
Zoe Saldana- the top of the dress is AmazinG, but the rest of the dress is AwfuL. It would have been a great dress if it was made of the material the top is.

Miley’s dress is beautiful, she’s starting to look like a very pretty woman and not an awkward kid trying to look older. And I just love Sandra Bullock!!!

Worst:
Maggie Gyllenhall, Cameron Diaz (don’t like the colour on her, make-up and hair).
And I missed Anne Hathaway. Her Oscars have always been great in the past years!

The Good- Miley Cyrus she looked stunning but she needs to own her height more and leave her sunset tan mom at home. Maggie Gylenhal in Dries Van Noten….love Penelope Cruz lookes phenomenal in red and it complements her olivey skin tone Gabourey ….now thats how you do it hun….Monique phenomenal as long as the dresses are long….Sandy not a fan of the dress but she looked adorable….Meryl Streep Helen Miren and Sogourney Weaver have found the fountain of youth and are keeping it all to themselves… Diane Kruger in Chanel ….amazing …Zoe Saldana uggghhha where can I get her dress?!? lol she looked incredible…Carey Mulligan looked cute not a fan of the adornments in her dress but she owned it…Queen Latifah is glowing like a star…Amanda Seyfried ..great but hate the makeup she looks tired they should have done a fun sophisticated look ……..
The Bad and Ugly- Charlize Theron not feeling the weird breast cup thingy….. Anna Kendrick with the couture night gown that washes her out and horrible hairstyle……Maritska Hargitay ….hate it smh…..Cameron Diaz I dont think shell ever get it right her last good dress was two years ago…Vera Farminga EPIC FAIL…..Mariah Carey who isn’t missing any meals or dessert for that matter

amanda is always amazing with her beautiful unconventional features but hair and makeup were not the best choice for the dreamy armani gown she wore
all the others look quite plain and boring

kristen stuart looks awful! i mean the dress is not for her, maybe it’s a bad pic but i don’t like it, the dress doesn’t shine on the actress and the actress is too young for it.

Queen Latifah looks fabulous. Kristen Stewart looks more feminine than usual, but her facial expressions just kill me, she reminds me of Eyeore 
The best look of the night shot: Mariska Hargitay. Perfect from head to toe. Are the genes of Jayne Mansfield talking more alto.Mariska combines natural beauty with class and distinction. The worst: Zoe Saldana.
I actually really liked Zoe Saldana’s dress. Maybe because I love love love purple.
Others who topped my list:
Sigourney Weaver (come ON how are you sixty and look like that?!), Sandra Bullock, Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Penelope Cruz and Meryl Streep.

Kristen Stewart actually looks really nice here. Now, if she’d stand up straight.
The only dress I sort of like is Rachel McAdams’, the others are in my opinion either boring or hideous. And I don’t understand why people say Queen Latifah is curvy, I mean ok, J Lo is curvy, but Queen Latifah has a huge belly in the photo (or is that just an unflattering angle
?). Does a huge (beer/ whatever) belly a curve make nowadays? I’m surprised nobody has called Gabourey Sidibe curvy yet (or have they?). I think in her case it would have been POLITE to cover those arms, they are hurting my eyes.
I don’t know if anyone pointed this out yet, but is Amanda Seyfried and J. Lo wearing the same designer? Both dresses look to be made from the same material.

She’s the sort of woman that wears the clothes, that makes or breaks an outfit, not the other way around.
IMO, the best looks this year were of the ladies in the 40+ age category. They were ALL stunning! Not to mention is so hard at that age to keep a figure (even in Hollywood).
And JLo! OMG! Amazing! Although I’m not particularly keen on the fabric of her dress.

worst year ever at the oscars. none i loved. sandra was lovely, tho it is not my taste.
rachel macadams coudl have been gorgeous, but wierd colours, and didn’t finish it right hair wise.
charlize could have also been fantastic, if the pattern over the front had met in the middle- instead it looked like someone grabbing her boobs.
really colourless year overall. a few simple styles in really gorgeous and flattering colours would have given the wow factor!
maybe like others said, they were all trying to hard to get seen, and be edgy.
