Skinny VS Curvy

At (huge) request, here’s a post on supermodel Gemma Ward’s weight gain & desire to quit modelling – The Daily Telegraph reports:

SUPERMODEL Gemma Ward (22), the butt of attacks on an international fashion website for gaining weight, has revealed through her agent that she has no plans to return to her glittering career.

A spokeswoman for modelling agency Viviens said Ward, who is based in New York, had no immediate plans to return to the industry.
“Gemma hasn’t committed to returning to modelling any time soon,” she said, adding that Ward had the agency’s full support.

This is not the first time Gemma faces the “weight gain!” headlines – after presenting a skinny figure for years, in 2007, Gemma appeared in a Chanel runway show wearing a bikini and revealing a non-skinny, slim and curvy figure (for a model) – here’s a skinny Gemma vs curvier Gemma:

At the beginning of 2009, Gemma’s weight was an issue again, since she was spotted in a bikini after gaining a visible amount of weight. At that time, sources were saying:

“GEMMA Ward, the strikingly thin model who once captivated the international fashion scene, has piled on weight as she continues to struggle with the loss of friend Heath Ledger” (who was rumored to be her lover)”

Raven Symone showed up at a United Nations Celebrating Tinkerbell ceremony a few days ago and with this occasion, she revealed her newer, slimmer body in a very tight figure-hugging dress.

Even if she’s wearing “a little help” underneath, her waist got significantly smaller and now she fits nicely in the voluptuous category.

Here’s someone we haven’t seen before: 35 year-old actress and former model Natasha Henstridge.

Natasha is the owner of a curvy figure that Trinny and Susannah named “The Cello”. Basically, a cello is a slightly wider hourglass, a very proportionate curvy figure with a larger bone structure. Cello girls have broad shoulders, a relevant bust, curvy hips, waist definition (yet not your typical super tiny waist) and strong thighs, sometimes a slight tummy and they look great even at higher weighs, since their weight is evenly distributed and they’ve got a larger frame.

- Pretty much anything that says “formal” and “classic”
