Miranda Kerr’s ’15 Minute’ Morning Routine

July 29, 2014 in Miranda Kerr by Versus

On how she manages to look perfect with her 15 minute morning routine:

‘I usually have very little time in the mornings, especially with a toddler, so with these simple skin and beauty steps I can get out the door in 15 minutes.

I drink a glass of warm water with the juice of half an organic lemon each morning. Warm lemon water in the morning helps kick start the digestion process for the rest of the day. It’s also a morning ritual that cleanses the system, boosts your immune system and balances pH levels because lemons are very alkalizing. They are also abundant in vitamin C, which promotes healing and health.

(On dry body brushing) It’s a great way to get the circulation going, remove dead skin cells, aid lymphatic drainage, detoxify your system and keep your skin smooth all over. I start with my feet and legs and work my way up in quick gentle strokes…it needn’t be too time consuming and just takes a few minutes before jumping into the shower.

I wash my hair in the evening so it can dry naturally overnight. All I have to do in the morning is style it. At the moment I prefer a low braid or a high topknot, as they both require little time and effort but still look feminine and polished. I also use a hairbrush with a natural bristle as it promotes shine and is gentle on the scalp.

I apply tinted day cream as a healthy alternative to foundation. It’s quick and easy to apply and has the perfect amount of coverage… it leaves my complexion radiant with an even tone. Use your fingers to apply, as the warmth will help the formulation melt into your skin for a flawless finish.

I apply two to three coats of mascara. To finish off my look I apply lip balm if I want a more natural look, or a tint or lipstick in a shade of red if I want to make more of a statement – the red also brightens my complexion instantly. If I need a little more coverage I sparingly use RMS concealer where required.

‘Green cold pressed juices are packed with live, whole ingredients so it’s an instant health hit to the blood stream. The chlorophyll contained in cold pressed green juices can help keep your blood healthy and are very oxygenating. Green juices are high in vitamins and minerals making them great contributors to clear skin and bright eyes.’

Eva Mendes: “Makeup artists can only do so much”

September 26, 2013 in Eva Mendes by Versus

On her favorite cheap beauty product:

My favorite cheap beauty product is baby powder. I use it on my hair to give it a dry tousled look. It works magic. Better than any dry shampoo out there. Once you put a little bit on your roots and run it through your hair, make sure to shake it out so your hair doesn’t look white! Another great inexpensive product is St. Ives Apricot Scrub for the body. I use it as a dry scrub with a loofah, then I rinse. It works great for me.

On her best beauty secret:

The best beauty secret I’ve learned over the years is that there’s no secret! Makeup artists can only do so much. If you’re not well-rested and well-nourished, it will show on your face. So drink lots of water and eat well… and ditch the cigarettes! Oh and use blotting papers instead of powder!

… says Eva.
