Keira Knightley (24) attended the Laurence Olivier Awards Nominees Luncheon Party held at Haymarket Hotel in London yesterday… where she wore this interesting little ensemble with naked-girl prints and puppy patterns.
Beauty queen Jennifer Hawkins was brave enough to go 1. naked and 2. un-retouched in and on the cover of Marie Claire Magazine. Even more, she pointed out her “flaws”, trying to prove that not even the most gorgeous women in the world are not tiny-creases-free, cellulite-free and picture-perfect. Also, Jennifer’s unphotoshopped cover picture will be auctioned to raise money for an eating disorders support group, since the idea behind the shoot is to promote positive body image and confidence.
“I’m not a stick figure – I thought it would be great to tell women to just be themselves and be confident.” … says stunning Jennifer.
The Huffington Post adds:
Editor Jackie Frank told The Australian the images were inspired by a survey of 5500 readers, which showed that only 12 percent of women were truly happy with their bodies. Marie Claire put Hawkins on the cover to make a positive statement about body image.
Let’s watch the video for more info (and see some more pics after the jump)!
“A part of the reason I did Playboy was because there’s been so much controversy with my body,” she tells ET. “I wanted to show everyone, ‘Okay, look at it — this is what it looks like. Leave me alone now.’ And I’m really happy with it. When I went down [Diddy's] carpet and the dress fell, I just had my first surgery so I didn’t even feel it … It was a botched surgery so I really wouldn’t want anyone to see that,” she explains. “Then I got a better one and I got healed and I’m good now. But no one wants to say that I’m healed or good. They always want to show that bad picture from 10 years ago.”
… says Tara about why she posed for Playboy.
I’m happy to hear that Tara is happy with her body now – but if so, why the overly-plastic effects, the doll-like skin, the drawing-like body, the lack of shaddows?
See how Tara looks in a bikini… on the beach, not in a magazine HERE!
At high demand, here’s Rihanna, her recent “less clothes, more edge (?)” trend and raunchy shoot plus topless cover picture she did for GQ Magazine.
And on a non-related issue, here’s a little quote from the interview:
“You can’t judge someone based on someone else’s actions. There are people in the world who will love you and people in the world who will hurt you, and there are people in the world who will do both.”
V Magazine will dedicate their January 2010 issue to plus-size models – this comes after Glamour Magazine featured “plus-size” models in in September (Lizzie Miller photo) and in their November “These Bodies are Beautiful at Every Size” article – see photo below.
“Big, little, pint-size, plus-size—every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it” says editor-in-chief Steven Gan.
Surprisingly, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld agreed to photograph the plus-size beauties (including Crystal Renn and burlesque dancer Miss Dirty Martini), even though in the past, he said things like…
“These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly”
“No one wants to see round women.”
What do you guys think of this initiative? And of course: how do you like Crystal’s bikini body?
