I prefer clothes that go in at the waist as it shows I’ve actually got a shape. I don’t love my legs so I won’t make them the feature of my outfit.

I don’t feel comfortable wearing cleavage baring clothes, either. If you’ve got a silhouette, that can be sexier than having your actual boobs or legs out. I find it hard to get trousers to fit because I’ve got a bigger bum and smaller waist.

Becki Newton is smiley in dark green sequins, Brooke Shields looking a tad top heavy in a black dress, Ginnifer Goodwin looks pear-shaped in that patterned and slightly puffy dress and Claire Danes looks sleek in dark blue.

Instructions: Take one skinny (recently skinnier) girl called Tori and one curvy pear shape famous for her hips and booty combo. Place them next to each other, to make the differences between their body sizes and types obvious.

Pulling off an all-white outfit is not a piece of cake, especially when the outfit includes tight white pants and when you’re endowed with lots of plump curves, a la JLo here.

But Jennifer manages to pull the all-white look off – Why?

1. The over-sized top was a smart choice because it balances the figure – if she had chosen a skintight top, she would have looked much more pear shaped.

2. Flared pants are the ideal pants for pear shapes, they balance out the whole figure.

3. Another plus: the platforms. Since white pants are one of those “risky items”, the kind that have the potential to make you look thicker, pairing them with something that elongates the legs annihilates the “fattening white effect”.

Let’s take 2 slim and young blonde celebs in short dresses (refreshing after the long gowns overload): Hilary Duff and Lauren Conrad. These 2 girls have opposite body shapes: While Hilary is a V shape, Lauren is a pear (though you can’t really tell here).
