Here’s the story:

* The one on the left is the Russian Joy Magazine, an issue from 2007.

* The one on the right is Russian Glamour Magazine, an issue from 2009, only the cover picture is a reprint. Yes, it’s been reprinted, after spending a looooong time in the Photoshop salon.

So is this funny or sad?

 

British glamour model Gemma Atkinson released her 2010 calendar (remember the one for 2009?) and, to summarize, she is provocative, busty, tanned, a little plastic, a little photoshopped, a little wet and full of cropped shirts.

The Kelly Clarkson Photoshop Debate Continues… this time, Kelly herself has something to say about it. Daily Express UK has the details:

KELLY CLARKSON was stunned by her own appearance on the recent cover of a fitness magazine because the photograph was so heavily airbrushed, she barely recognised herself.

Clarkson has battled weight issues ever since she won talent show American Idol in 2002, and sparked a furore after appearing on the front of Self magazine’s September (09) issue looking suspiciously svelte.

The editor of the publication defended the decision to airbrush Clarkson, insisting they just wanted to show the singer looking her “best”.

Now Clarkson has opened up about the controversy, admitting she was shocked by the pictures – but accepts all photoshoots inevitably involve the airbrush.

She tells Britain’s Heat magazine, “The whole airbrushing thing has gone crazy. I was like, ‘Who is that on the cover of the magazine?’ They were obviously not happy with what I look like. I’m not being mean about myself, but I just found it funny. I think it’s just one of those things that people have got so used to doing that they don’t even think twice about it.”

Yes, Marisa looks amazing in the latest photos for Victoria’s Secret Fall Fashion.

But:

One of our readers pointed out a while back that Marisa is photoshopped quite a lot in pictures, especially in the ones that are part of the VS catalogues. Question: What could one retouch on Marisa’s oh-so-enviable body? Answer: Actually, the pictures show that Marisa gets a softer, less bony, beauty marks-free look in the “After” pictures. A few days ago, Kim Kardashian got a makeover… or a make-under (literally), since she was spotted without any make-up on. Well, we’re looking at the exact opposite here: Kim Kardashian is wearing loads of it, plus she’s got a completely different skin tone, a new black bob hairstyle (about that: wow or eww?), avant-garde clothes and her high fashion attitude.

Does she pull this look off? What do you say? But first, let’s see what Kim says about the shoot:

“My YRB Magazine shoot just came out and I am loving the results! I love the photog, Mike Ruiz, and my stylist Darius Baptist was amazing! This shoot was done the day I left for Africa. I really love the transformation and the clothes were amazing!!! This has got to be one of the most unique shoots I’ve ever done! Not sure I’ll ever go for a permanent short cut, but it definitely works for this shoot.”
