JESSICA Simpson is dropping weight faster than she realizes. Celebrating her hairstylist Ken Paves’ birthday Wednesday night at Beso in Hollywood, “she didn’t eat much, because she’s been dieting since her split from Tony Romo,” said our source.

So after two drinks, the 5-foot-3 star “got tipsy really fast.” Photos show a bleary, but svelte, Simpson holding onto Paves as they exited.

Simpson’s rep told us, “She was out celebrating Ken’s birthday, and now she’s getting ready to leave the country to film her docu-series for VH1.”

When Heidi Klum famously walked the runway in lingerie for Victoria’s Secret less than two months after giving birth to son Henry, she became the envy of moms everywhere still struggling to lose post-baby pounds.

But the 36-year-old supermodel insists there’s no trick to it.

“I’ve never really had any special girdle machines or anything like that,” she said. “For me, it’s, you know, really healthy foods, exercising, playing with the children, going to the park. Normal things.”

No crazy strict diets, either.

“I’ve never done diets,” she said. “But I also do not sit on the couch with my feet up and eat one potato chip bag after the next and one burger after the other. I think you have to kind of do a little bit of everything.”

It’s easier to drop post-pregnancy weight it you make getting a shape a priority after giving birth, she said.

Here’s what OK! Magazine says:

In the wake of her heartbreaking split from Tony Romo on the eve of her 29th birthday earlier this month, Jessica Simpson has decided that the way to get the sweetest revenge on her former sweetheart is to sweat off some pounds at the gym.

“Right after Tony ended things, Jessica said, ‘I want my old body back,’” a friend of the singer reveals in the new issue of OK!. “She went into her kitchen, got a trash bag and started to clear it out.”

And getting rid of the bad food isn’t the only way she’s slimming down. Jessica has been spotted several times in the last two weeks heading to celeb trainer Harley Pasternak’s West Hollywood fitness center.

“Jess is serious about getting her body back into fighting shape,” her pal reveals to OK!. “Working out is helping to give her focus and clear her head. It’s better than sitting around moping or throwing pity parties with ice cream sundaes.”

And the results are already starting to show — Jessica, whose weight fluctuations have often been the subject of water-cooler discussion, dropped 10 pounds in just the first 10 days of working out!

“She doesn’t want to give anyone more reason to not take her seriously,” explains the pal. “She’s tired of weight being a talking point.”

Even enviable-looking Scarlett Johansson couldn’t disguise her fear at having to don a skintight catsuit for her Iron Man 2 role as the Russian spy Black Widow.

“I kicked some major butt,” the actress, 24, told PEOPLE at Comic-Con of her training regimen to make her a shapely superhero ready for acrobatic battle scenes. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit.”

Was she happy with the results? “Finally I was, yes,” she said with a laugh. “You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it.”

When it came to putting on the catsuit, “It was crazy to see it for the first time – everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look. It was pretty sweet, I have to say,” she says.

As for the impression it made, “Certainly walking on set, because a lot of the people that worked on the film were fans of the comic and of course they knew the Black Widow – they were all super excited to see the Black Widow,” she says. “When everybody in the crew were like, ‘That looks awesome!’ I knew. Like, ‘Okay.’ ”

“She was wearing an unforgiving costume,” concurred Johansson’s Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who was impressed by his star’s physical commitment to the role. “She didn’t eat much, that’s for sure. She likes food, as do I, and she was definitely on a low-carb diet and training very hard. It was amazing.”

After viewing Johansson’s stunt work, Favreau says, “I think people are going to be very impressed when they see her. It’s totally different than anything you’ve seen her do before.”
