I joke that I’ve been on a diet since 1974, which is basically true. I like to eat, and my body type is not naturally this thin, especially at this age. I have a big appetite.
On being sexy at any age:
When I hit my 40s I thought, ‘I can’t play a sexy siren any more.’ Almost 20 years later, it’s still going on.
A while back, Joan Rivers made more than a few jokes that targeted Adele’s weight – check out our post here! And even though Joan was criticized for her cruel jokes, the 79 year-old star claims they were ‘not mean’. From Daily Mail:
Huff Post Live host Marc Lamont Hill stepped up in Adele’s defense to say that the comment was ‘mean,’ but that didn’t stop Joan from taking a chuckle and reviving her diatribe.
‘It’s not mean!’ she defended. ‘She’s a chubby lady who’s very, very rich, and she should just calm down – or lose weight!’ she said.
Joan said that after the comment Adele’s team called her to ask for an apology, but the comedienne had her own thought about that.
Joking aside, the petite funnywoman still has praise for the Rolling in the Deep singer.
‘Adele is beautiful and successful,’ she said, ‘but let’s face reality: she’s fat.’
Even though she has a skinny figure and she’s definitely lost weight since the beginning of her career, Emma Stone says that she doesn’t try to look perfect – from CTV News:
“I can easily spend a few months without working out until I have a film coming up and I might want to drop a few pounds.
“Once I did a film, ‘The Help’, and the southern cooking was so delicious that I couldn’t help myself – I gained a few pounds and the costume fitter had to adjust my outfits.
“I’m not worried about looking like a model or always trying to look perfect. I try to eat healthy foods and get enough sleep and go swimming when I can. That’s my fitness regime.”
Once a sexy Bond Girl, Denise Richards looked like a shadow of her former self at the Beverly Glen shopping center on Feb. 1, where she ran errands with daughter Sam, 8, Lola, 7, and adopted baby girl Eloise, 19 months. “her clothes were falling off her,” an eyewitness tells Star. “Her shoulders and arms looked superfrail, and her face was gaunt. She did not look healthy at all.”
Even her ex-husband, Hollywood trainwreck Charlie Sheen, is concerned! “Denise is skinnier than she has ever been, and Charlie is worried,” admits a pal. “He cares about her — if she needs help, he will make sure she gets it.”
But Denise is convinced that she’ll never find true love unless she’s at her absolute thinnest. “She keeps saying that as a 42-year-old woman in Los Angeles competing against twentysomethings, she has to work harder if she’s ever going to get married again,” says the insider.
Weight expert Alicia Hunter, author of The Accidental Diet: From Fugly to Fox, says the actress needs to put some weight back on, fast: “She looks to be hovering at around 108 lbs., which is 15 lbs. less than is healthy for a woman who’s 5’6″.”
