Lily does look smaller than in the bikini photo’ s imo, which was neccessary but she still looks great.

I thought her legs were always thin. She does have wide set hips so her legs look farther apart from each-other than the other girls that have narrower hips.
I think she might have lost a little weight, but at other VS appearances she looks bit heavier, so I’m not sure. She looks lovely to me either way. And I agree with jenp, she has very wide set hips and somewhat of a gap between her legs.
Also she’s in heels, in her bikini photos she’s barefoot. Heels make her already long legs look even longer which makes them appear thinner. Add that to the wide hips, and she looks thinner than the other girls even if she’s not.

I do think she’s lost a bit of weight since the beginning of her modeling career, however her legs have always been very slim except for the tops of her thighs. Plus she has a very, very, very small frame which makes her look tiny compared to almost anyone she stands next to (excep Chanel Iman haha)
I am 5’8 and weight 108.03 pounds . I have a very small body frame but curvy and i still think that i look bigger than these models.

Absolutley southerngumdrops, not only very tiny for 5’8 but very rare as well.
I also weigh 135 on a good day at 5’9.75 and I’m quite slim as it is.

But I can see that being your weight and being healthy, I have friends like that. But these models look bigger than that to me, they look like my size, just taller.

I´m 5´9 and weigh 109/110 pounds and I do look like them (weight wise) but i don´t think i´m that hot ehehe. So I guess it depends on your body type, body frame, etc.

Erica- I completely agree. To me they are predictable. Model like. Imo not very interesting. I do like Candice’s whr, but I agree she is too thin imo. For some reason though when girls have that shape, people still think they are bigger than other girls (even though they are skinnier) because they have that ‘curvy shape’. It can be quite dangerous really. Sometimes I think Candice is bordering on not healthy thin, but because she has hips, people dont think she is thin. My mum was the same. She got down to below 6stone (which i think is around 43kgs) at 5’4 all because she had big hips (and big boobs). But I look at photos and she was deathly thin.

It’s really funny you should mention that, because I thought her smile looked the most genuine. In these pictures it looks like she’s actually smiling.
I agree with you both, her smile makes me like her more! She is so cute and actually looks genuinely happy to be there. She doesn’t look “untouchable” like some of the other girls do at the VS events (not at this one in particular, but at others).

I think she is wearing some sort of undergarment, shapewear or corset (which would be expected with such a tight dress!) because even if she did not have rounded hips, her lower leg would not suddenly bulge out like that. It’s not even her hip, it’s her upper thigh.

What’s your opinion on models measurements? I don’t understand how grown women (who are tall) have 33 or 34 inch hips.
I live in Eastern Europe where girls are thin and we have a lot of models…but when I check out their model agency portofolios it says that most have 34.5 or 35 inch hips (some maybe 35.5 or 36).
agencies lie, of course. They list a 5’7 girl as 5’9.5 all the time. They lie to make the girls look more appealing to their clients, but I’m pretty sure the clients know the truth anyway
Some girl’s hips are naturally like that, like mine, but for the most part I think it’s false.
Most of the modelling agencies don’t tell the truth. If you scan the modelling cards almost all of them are 34-24-34, and it’s highly improbable that 90% of their girls fit into those measurements. Also, like andie mentioned, they tend to be shorter than their listed height, unless they are listed at 5’11″, in which case they are probably over six feet.
I am a grown woman who is 5’9. My hips are 32 inches. I’m quite narrow.
I think they are just ‘freaks’ of nature, it’s like god gave them the build of a 4ft10 woman but at a height of 5ft10!

34 or 35 inch hips are typical model measurements. The high fashion ones usually have 33 inch hips. They are skinny and most models are tall but have a narrow frame.
That’s not true, High fashion models usually have 34” hips, there are really not much models (high fashion) below 34, probably just the really petit ones. The only one that comes to my mind is Chanel Iman, has 33 acording to IMG, and probably Sasha.

Candice is so lovely. I just adore adore adore her. No matter what her weight, she looks so stunning. She looks nice when she’s fuller, and nice at this weight. Both Candice’s body and face are so much more appealing to me when compared to the other VS models. She’s so beautiful! Her lips and eyes are absolutely stunning, and I love her waist and legs. She just seems very sweet as well.

Excuse me? No, she’s not my role model because she looks pretty. I admire that she is not attention-seeking like many other celebrities and models. I like that she is able to keep her head and stay out of the tabloids while having a successful career as a model, which is not easy to do. As far as I know, she is not a rude person. I don’t know her personally, so it’s completely different than admiring my mother or father. Of course they are my role models. But I have never found a celebrity or model that I admire, so Candice is the only one. It’s not as if I follow her every move. I just enjoy posts about her.

To be fair, not everyone has a mother and father that can or should be considered role models. Just sayin’.
I also consider Candice a role model to a certain extent. It was mainly me discovering her a few years back that prompted me to be like, “Hey, you got to take care of yourself more, probably be more active, drink more water, try to be more stylish.” That kind of thing. Not every role model you have has to have some deep philosophy tied to them…there are such thing as body role models, style role models, career role models, etc.

This isn’t really related to this post, but I’m just wondering what type of body frame most people prefer? I’m assuming small, but I wanted to see if anyone liked really tall, wider-framed women (e.g. kind of like Bar Rafaeli), tall, small-framed women (e.g. VS models), or even a more petite frame.
I prefer average height, average frame and slim with hips/butt and boobs. Basically a shorter, heavier version of Candice. If I saw her in person I’d think she was way too bean pole for my tastes, but her shape is fantastic.
I think it’s interesting that you prefer average height, many of the girls I know want to be extremely tall. I’m assuming by average you mean around 5’5″-5’7″? Or were you thinking of lower?
I also think Candice has a flawless shape, she’s quite lucky because even if she gains she will maintain her form. But I agree with you, I try not to get too thin because I prefer a softer look!
I say average because I’m average height (5’5) at the moment and I’m completely happy with it. I would hate to be any shorter because of the tendency to stack on noticeable weight, having to hem pants and not being able to reach things at various heights. I’d also not like to be much taller than about 5’7 because I like to be shorter than the men I date (my bf is rather short at 5’8), I like to not look like an amazon when I wear heels and clothes seem to fit me well in terms of length. My height is probably the only part about my body that I wouldn’t change given the opportunity.
I’m 5’3″ and I do wish I was taller. I think it’s mostly because I feel that the clothes I like don’t look as good on me because I don’t have long legs. I also have a small frame, so it’s just irritating occasionally. I get where you’re coming from.

The average is actually not 5’5″-5’7″, it is 5’3.8,” to be exact. So 5’5″-5’7″ would be anywhere from over an inch to a full three inches above average. I think most women want to be tallish, but not like supermodel tall. Most girls I know want to be a height like 5’7″-5’9″, I don’t really know anyone who wants to be “extremely” tall but maybe the people you associate with do!
Well, for me, 5’9″ is quite tall, being 5’3″. I can only dream of that height, lol. Like I said, “many” girls I’ve talked to or know wish they were supermodel height (even 5’9″ is tall compared to my height), which is very tall when compared to the average, or the number you stated. When I said average I didn’t really mean an exact statistic or number, I was just giving a range to narrow down the height Grey was talking about.
The average height for Caucasian women in the US is 5’5, so I’m dead on average. I know the number is brought down a bit because Latina women tend to be quite short.

I think she is around that height. I meant short version and tall version of the kind of body that I prefer.
I really like slim pear/hourglasses as well. I think I actually prefer pears like Candice, who can sometimes look like hourglasses and at other times pears.
I prefer small-framed, tallish (5’6″-5’8″) women with long legs, who are skinny or very slim with subtle curves – a vase, lollipop, or rectangle when it comes to body shapes.
I don’t think you can pin down what body frame “most” people prefer, but I think a slim hourglass or vase generally gets the most positive comments.
So, would you prefer a body with more weight, such as Alessandra Ambrosio, or maybe a more high fashion model, such as Gemma Ward?
That’s a good question! I do like Gemma, but I like Alessandra’s body better. The ideal for me would probably be like a shorter version of Erin Heatherton (she’s crazy tall!) or Miranda Kerr.
I think I understand what you mean. Erin doesn’t have crazy curves like Kim Kardashian, but she does have apparent curves while maintaining that sort of ruler shape at a healthy weight. Same with Miranda. Thanks for telling me, it really interests me what people think.

I think a huge variety of body types, shapes and sizes can be very attractive.
Personally my ideal female body isn’t anything close to a model (I have that runway model body type though I’m not tall – skinny, long arms and legs, flat chest – not a big fan) although I think many are gorgeous.
I most admire women who have some muscle and plenty of fat, no bones showing, full hips/butt/thighs and a slim waist (boobs are a plus but I think smaller chests are lovely too). Frame size and height doesn’t make a different, you can be slim yet strong and shapely at any height and at any bone structure. Bar Rafaeli’s body is to die for. I think Candice has a killer shape but would like her to gain at least 15 lbs for maximum beauty.
When I read your comment it reminded me a little bit of the way Candice looked at the VS fashion show. She looked like she had a good amount of muscle, and she was very shapely as well. Is this kind of what you mean?

If I had to pick my ideal body, it would be petite. About 5’0″ to 5’4″. With slight curves, and a small chest. So perhaps a slim vase or pear. Or even a slighter larger frame that’s still trim, but with less curve. Even my own body, with smaller breasts and slimmer arms would fall into my ideal.

Her figure in 2008/2009 was…amazing. It was like the perfect balance between slim and curvy. She had the best body I have ever seen.
I remember her saying in an interview something along the lines of, “I always thought I was pretty skinny but whenever I go to castings, there’s all these girls around me that are even skinnier than me.”
I feel like she wants to be more high fashion so she is trying to maintain a certain size, to which I say, you don’t need to! You are million-dollar VS model, you were thin enough in 2008, and you had the body that most men and women drooled over. I understand toning up a little because you want to be in shape but at this point she is getting thin enough where she is starting to sacrifice her magnificent curves. she got a trainer after she became a vs model then she lost weight, i think she feels insecure that everyone sees her in underwear 24/7 so she wants to be as toned and skinny as possible, obviously shes perfect no matter what weight she is, i think shell gain the weight back after she has a break from her job
I actually agree. She looked better with more meat, it was just “her” look, if that makes sense. I can see Alessandra or someone else being thinner and more fashion-y, and I even prefer thinner frames! But Candice was at her own peak with her awesome, unique build when she was fuller.
Exactly lc…she had “her” look, and it was fantastic. I think she can be a successful model even without trying to fit into the typical stereotype of a model. I just question whether or not she sees that because she is surrounded every day by models who are being hired (sometimes, over her) who are much thinner than her. Yes, I agree. It seems that would be the case. Maybe she thinks that in order to complete with the thinner models for more fashion-y gigs, or whatever, she needs to be thinner. Which is so unnecessary lol! =) She has such a unique look that that shouldn’t have to be the case.
I think that’s what it is Casey. I loved the pic that someone posted on the runway of her above. Her whole body looked killer. Especially her legs! I think being around thinner models maybe does mess with her head- also i think, as i have said before, people assume women who have an hourglass or pear shape are bigger than other women even when they are far far far too thin.
I like her look now, but she definitely should not lose any more weight! It seems like the commercial models always want to do high fashion, and sometimes it just doesn’t work. For example, I think Candice is the perfect example of a commercial model – she has a pretty face, a slim but curvy body – but I think she should stick to her niche.

I know that when I wear clothes I can appear much slimmer than when I am in a swimsuit, I’m actually very similar to Candice in that sense. Anyways, I think that’s why people are calling her too thin. She lost a bit of weight, but it’s not like she dropped 30 pounds or something.
Yep. Basically, if what I am wearing doesn’t show or cling to my butt and upper thighs to show that I have some meat and curves there, I look like a stick. People are always asking me if I have lost weight (with concern – I am a little too thin yet), depending on what I am wearing!
I know what you mean! When I wear a tight t-shirt or something like that my midsection looks smaller than if I just go out in a bikini, lol. I think it’s just an illusion, it doesn’t mean any weight has actually been lost.
I have realized this about thinner women as well. In fact, as a guy, I was sometimes pleasantly surprised by some of my slimmer female friends when we went to the beach or a water park. Normally when I saw them in clothes their curves were not easily seen, but once the bikinis went on, my reaction was, “damn….where did that come from”.
So basically slim and curvy girls almost always have to wear the tight fitting clothes if they want to show a little bit more sex appeal. It’s easier for the fuller figures to be sexy even in not so tight fitting clothes. And yes I know, it’s not all about being sexy for you ladies. This is a guy’s perspective.
That’s very true, I look a lot curvier in a bikini than I do in clothes. But I think slim and curvy girls like Candice get the best of both worlds – they can look very chic and fashiony with their lack of curves, or they can look curvy in a bikini!
Candice looks fantastic ! I know this doesn’t apply to a lot of women, but since she lost the weight, we’ve been around the same shape now. I’m veryy thin, so Candice appeals to me more now than she did before.
Candice looked beautiful before, and looks fantastic now. She doesn’t necessarily NEED to gain/lose anymore weight, despite how much some people may want her to, because it’s her life, so please, stop acting like you’re in control of her and telling her what to do etc. This doesn’t apply to everyone, but some people are quite rude in terms of people we see on this site and their weight.

Erin is always gorgeous to me, and Lily Aldridge is really starting to grow on me. But Candice is just too cute! She seems so, well, sweet and approachable, kind of like Miranda. I just wish she didn’t do her hair that way, though, it almost looks like she has side bangs.

They are at the typical model-weight and have the typical model body ,and are dressed as a typical dress for a model on a Valentine-day advertising,everything about them is so typical,everything about them looks plastic even if they are natural.
