Doutzen’s face has always been “fuller” without a lot of the bone structure showing, at least as far as I’ve seen with the pictures of her on here. I think it looks good, if you like a less full face, that’s fine, but to say a woman needs to lose weight so she can lose the fullness in her face? That’s not fine. Find someone that better fits your tastes.

You can just lose weight for the sake of having a slimmer face. She has a naturally full face which looks very youthful and pretty.
You might prefer a thinner face, but lots of people like the look of full faces myself included. I have a thin face and would love to have a bit more padding.

I was just thinking how beautiful she looks because her face isn’t gaunt like Alessandra’s. A fuller face tends to make you look younger, and she looks about two decades younger than the chick next to her! If someone told me she was 19, I would buy it. Alessandra, on the other hand, looks like she is pushing 40.
IF she lost enough weight to “tone down in the face department” she’d be horridly thin. She doesn’t need to lose any weight at all.

While I don’t particularly agree with “crazy’s” comment, I think Doutzen looks fine: I just think the “don’t like her? Move on,” comment is extremely funny because I just got done reading the comment thread for Marisa Miller’s Shape magazine cover and you went on for about 12 posts listing all the things you hated about Marisa Miller, body part by body part. I have no problem with opinions and everyone has a right to his/her own, but I find it a tad hypocritical to get on someone for their opinion, when we all pick celebrities apart on this site. That is the point, after all.
I wasn’t saying I hated Marisa Miller or her body, I was constructively stating why I didn’t find her as attractive as she could be, and I wasn’t insulting her about it either, was I?

If Doutzen lost about 5 lbs, I think she would be absolutely drop dead gorgeous. No doubt about the fact that she is pretty, but she could take over the industry is she was a tad skinnier. I personally just find thinner people more attractive. In reality she is at a perfectly normal weight, but if she was skinnier? She would look absolutely amazing!

You must have some issues since you think that the only way to look drop dead gorgeous is to lose some more weigh. 5 lbs is something that can be lost or gained in a week b/c of what you do that week AND might as well not even get noticed – especially if you’re tall. Doutzen is a lingerie model, not a high fashion model. Different standards for different types of models.

Oh, I don’t know, maybe because they are getting tired of those standards anyway? And they realize they don’t NEED thin girls to sell their clothes? Maybe they realize that a healthy model is more important to their marketing than a thin one is? A lot of people are getting a little tired of seeing the “modeling standards” and are really speaking out against them, and a company that starts rejecting those standard and moving on to using what the public is calling for is making a smart move, and is in no way wrong for using “fat” models along with the “modelesque” models. And it was ridiculous of Gucci to say she’s fat when she’s not, I think they may have shot themselves in the foot with that one.
What is so great about thin models that makes it so important for that standard to be adhered to and protected, and makes any model that may not fit into it so wrong?

And I don’t think she’s too much bigger than all of her peers, Bar R. looks similar in size, if not body structure, as Doutzen. Doutzen is athletic, but her body is in now way manly, and I just don’t see “man shoulders” when I look at her. She’s very feminine and healthy looking, and I say it’s awesome that there are other places besides VS that are willing to give this woman some work.
They both look amazing in their own way. I find it so confusing how people can honestly believe that they can have a say in how a woman’s body should look. I prefer Doutzen. She looks like a cute doe & her body is extremely sexy. I think people here aspire to see models with “ordianary” body types. If every woman had an “ordinary” body . . . extraordinary would not exist.

Doutzen is beautiful, but I’ve always preferred Alessandra because she has quite some unique features. I never see anyone who looks like her, but (depending on where I go) I can see quite a lot of people with a similar facial shape and similar facial features to Doutzen.
Doutzen for sure!!! Think she is my favourite VS model, both her face and body are so gorgeous! Alessandra is probably my least favourite VS model, I find neither her face nor her body attractive.

Is it just me or Doutzen reaaly has an asymmetric face? Especially her eyes! They are way too different from each other and it really bugs me..Also in her photo shoots she usually hides one side of her face somehow but in these pics it is quite obvious. Ale is perfectly symmetric by the way..
No-one’s face is perfectly symmetrical, not even top models (including ale).

Kind of off-topic, but I remember reading in a very interesting study that, although more symmetry makes a face more attractive to the general population, it also makes it very ‘average’. So apparently perfect symmetry is not always a good thing.
E.g. Look at Adriana Lima and Ana Beatriz Barros. They are both rather popular with people and yet their faces are asymmetric. If you take one of the photos of them and flip it, all the asymmetry jumps out.
You misread that article. You are confusing two different things the article studied and you’re thinking average in the sense of quality, not in quantity which is what the researchers meant. Average in that article meant no extremes (for example, average sized nose, not big or small nosed, average lip height, average eye distance).
The study found that in any culture, people preferred symmetrical faces to asymetrical ones and average facial features compared to extremes. Those two were the only factors of beauty that was the same in various parts of the world with different beauty standards.

To anyone who thinks Doutzen is fat: you probably have a very distorted view of what a healthy weight is. She doesn’t resemble an ironing board like many other runway models, but her body is thin but healthy.
To anyone who thinks her face is too full: people with fuller faces have a more youthful appearance and age more gracefully than those with gaunt faces.
