Ashlee Simpson in High-Waisted Jeans: Flattering or Unflattering?

Ashlee Simpson has a great post-baby figure, that’s for sure. I mean, we’ve seen her in minidresses and she looks amazing.
So do you think that these jeans do her justice (and I’m especially referring to the back view)?
Her sister wore a pair of high-waisted jeans a while back and she was harshly criticized… but can Ashlee pull them off?

I love Ashley but she looks horrible. And I know whats really unflattering, and thats her posture. Stand up straight.

thank u omg! i cannot stand people who are always slouching, it is the epitome of unflattering.
It makes her look kinda out of proportion imo. Makes her bum look flat and her bottom half way more narrow than her top half. Not such a good look, but not a total “Ewww” either. It’s quite ok, actually.
It’s not the high waist I think, but the lack of back pockets that make these jeans look unflattering on her – she is skinny and has no butt (i myself have the same problem and I never wear tight pants with no back pockets beacause i know they just make me look…sad)
she looks too skinny. in these pictures, she looks to be the exact same size as Lindsay Lohan – and that’s not a good thing.
looks good on her, although she has a very flat butt. there is loads of girls out there wearing skinny or low cut jeans, who really really shouldnt, so this is a nice change.
It’s not so much the butt, but the fact that is makes her appear like a vshape. Maybe she is, i don’t know, but it just accentuates her small hips next to slightly broader shoulders. But the jeans are kinda cool actually, i want them

I don´t like that outfit but she sure looks a lot better in those pants than her sister.

I absolutely love Ashlee as well as Jessica, but i have always been a bigger fan of jessica’s body
She looks very slim here, and although her bum looks a bit too flat, she can carry off these jeans definately. I’m not sure who’s these kind of jeans are aimed at, noone seems to look that good in them. They make your bum look so long!
yuck her ass looks majorly missing but she doesn’t look terrible! down to earth and casual, with a little hint of tacky..
either way, the simpson sisters have bad style.
i remember an episode of jessica and nick n she went around town (looking so pretty!) but with these horrendous 3″ foam heel flip flops…

I don’t think they look THAT bad on her. I think they’re always somewhat unflattering on everyone, but they can look decent if you’re thin enough.

I’d say she can pull them off about as well as anyone could. I just don’t get why anyone would buy jeans like this. You have to be a STICK for them to even look sort of ok (which is how they look on Ashlee… not good not great just ok)
Jessica couldn’t pull them off because she’s curvy and if you’re curvy in any way you can’t wear these.

The jeans make her butt to flat. I’m partial to the low waisted boot cut jeans on most body types, that’s what I wear and they seem to emphasize a nicely shaped rear. These jeans are now being referred to as “mom jeans”. I agree, not too flattering.

Those jeans are hideous! She doesn’t look fat or anything, it’s the jeans that make her look bad. I think they would make anyone look bad lol.

my back hurts just looking at her.
the front looks okay for a hight waist jean pant but then those pockets look like there int the wrong spot. the back is FLAT you need a narrow waist to make the butt area look larger or pockets to bulk it up. …or buy padded underwear.
