The 2009 Costume Institute Gala happened last night and the outfits were quite entertaining, to say the least.
Exhibit A: Leighton Meester in Louis Vuitton at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion.
The celebs are “allowed” to go a little crazy here, considering that the word “costume” is in the title of the event, but what do you think of the pattern overload / pink blush / shoes / whole look?

Well, I like it. If it’s a costume gala, why not going little crazy? We don’t have such an oportunity each day. So it’s fine.
i think she looks fabulous!!!! i absolutely love her and her outfit- its the costume gala- you’re not supposed to take everything so seriously!
I actually like this. After all it’s a costume gala. Could have done without the blush. I am also seeing a softer Gwen Stefani in her now that she’s blonde. Looks hot
Yeah, you don’t wear boring, safe outfits to a costume party. Only thing that bothers me is she doesn’t look that confident. Like she’s not rockin’ her outfit, just wearing it. If you’re gonna wear an outfit like that you need to pose like you think you’re the best looking person in the room, or else it won’t work.

The dress alone would have made an impact but with the tights/leggings it is just ‘WHOAH’
