Julianne Moore Brings the Quote of the Day

On her freckles:

‘Sometimes a magazine wants to see my actual skin, and other times they’ll airbrush [the freckles] out. I don’t care either way.

‘[But] once my daughter [Liv] saw me on a cover where I had no freckles and said, “That doesn’t look like you at all!’ And then – just like a kid – “I like you better without them.” Thanks!’

“When I read to children’s groups, I warm up to them by asking, “Have you ever seen anybody with as many freckles as I have?” And they all say” Nooo!”‘ ‘Well, they didn’t go away, but when I was a kid, I was really self-conscious about my freckles. But now I’m not!’

… says 53 year-old Julianne in Redbook Magazine.

    • I know right? me too, i think they’re so cute. morgan freeman has some ”freckles” though, and ive had a friend with freckles , she is very light-skinned (black girl). it looks gorgeous !!!

    • Oh. My. Goodness. Fellow black girl here who’s also an avid freckle fan! There’s a gorgeous, mixed race girl in one of my classes who has freckles- they look like a sprinkling of chocolate chips across her nose and cheeks and everytime I see her, I just want to grin kiss her cheeks so badly… but each time I resist! Ha ha 🙂

    • Sign me up! Sign me up too! I like them too cause they are sooo cute and add such character to a face. I can literally stare at them all day. I’m also a huge fan of red hair.. i mean the flaming re/orange kind!

  1. Gingers are always hot. And if they have to walk on the shady
side of the street, then that’s what it’s like to have such fair skin
that direct Sun burns their skin. My dad was of direct Dutch &
German descent. He had very light blue eyes with light blond
hair, red accents in it, and lots of freckles. Folks so designed
have to ingest extra Vitamin E to protect their eyes from being
susceptable to cataracts due to the lack of pigmentation. My
dad used to eat Wheat germ for breakfast and tell me it was
the preferred choice of fitness conscious folks. It’s actualy
very tasty mixed with Greek yogurt and berries, especialy in
Summer, which has to be a long season in Southern California.

  2. Her face is sublime and while I always love a decent amount of freckles on a face, her arms are a bit too much for my taste. I’m quite pale and I have green eyes, I wish my freckles would be more apparent.. sadly not the case 🙁

  3. I’m pale as well but I’ve never had one single freckle on my face. I’ve always wanted some though. Freckles are beautiful imo (but I must admit that the freckles on Julian Moore’s arms are too much for my liking).

  4. The fairness of her skin makes her freckles very striking. I’m not sure I LOVE it but it is interesting and pretty. I’ve always found freckles appealing. My mother is quite freckled everywhere but her face, but they’re not as apparent as Julianne’s because she has a more robust skin tone. And the man I am currently crushing on is also very freckled, again not as obviously because his skin tone is darker, but I admire it a lot. I think freckles are beautiful and add complexity and depth to one’s skin tone.

  5. She looks great, and not just “for her age”. I knew she was a good actress, but I never actually realized how attractive she is until I watched “Don Jon”. She was amazing in that movie.

  6. I love her freckles! They are so interesting and beautiful. I think freckles are so incredibly gorgeous, I wish I had some. I am pale and fair, but no freckles, so I have all the downsides (sunburn, ageing, sensitive skin) and none of the plus (freckles!!!!).

    Girls, love your freckles.

  7. My best friend is beautiful and also has a freckled complexion. I have very even light skin without a freckle in sight. When we were younger I’d breakout sometimes and when she would say how much she envied my skin, I’d tell her that she was the lucky one because freckles disguise a breakout better than any makeup; they just don’t “pop” against a freckled backdrop like they do an even canvas… For some reason, that used to really piss her off, haha, but I meant it in the nicest way… I think freckles can be very cute.

  8. Freckles are cute on someones face, mainly across the bridge of the nose, and upper cheeks, not the whole face. I’ve always disliked freckles on the body, though. Her arms, to be honest, look very unattractive to me.
