Beyonce: “I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth”

On the birth of Rumi & Sir:

I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month. My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU.

On how her body felt after all of that:

After the C-section, my core felt different. It had been major surgery. Some of your organs are shifted temporarily, and in rare cases, removed temporarily during delivery. I am not sure everyone understands that. I needed time to heal, to recover. During my recovery, I gave myself self-love and self-care, and I embraced being curvier. I accepted what my body wanted to be. After six months, I started preparing for Coachella. I became vegan temporarily, gave up coffee, alcohol, and all fruit drinks. But I was patient with myself and enjoyed my fuller curves. My kids and husband did, too.

On her body now:

To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real. Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.

  1. I like Beyonce, but y’all are crazy if you think anything this woman does is not carefully planned out. Of course she now jumps on the be relatable bandwagon now that she sees how marketable it is. Same with feminism, and BLM … Bey never came out to fully support those movements until it was “safe” for her to do so.

    • Sure everything she does is planned out as is every other celebrity who ever existed ever. But she was into feminism and all about black power movement way before things were mainstream. Her earlier music was all about female empowerment, and led by example as the first black women to break a lot of records and have that kind of fame. Perhaps she “came out” to get behind these movements after she had amassed her own power and was given more control over her own moves, when she first started out im sure she had much less say, if any, about what type of music and message she could put out there. And i say its better late than never. no matter what the reason is she could have just NOT done it so, theres that.

  2. Self important disingenuous nonsense.
The pic of her and husband is truly cringeworthy. They looking old to me…time’s nearly up, surely?
And naming your son ‘Sir’ is just terrible; and certainly NOT a breeding ground for inducing a big case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder in the poor kid.

  3. I really don’t care for Beyonce or her music but wow that sounds awful. Pregnancy/birth stories like hers are one reason I’m 100% childfree.

  4. I LOVE the photoshoot and everything about it but she looks so pissed on all of the photos. xD I mean her facial expression, it’s not that modelesque blankness/neutral face, she just looks annoyed.
