Carrie Underwood: “Nobody else looks at you as much as you think they do”

On whether her facial injury shook her confidence:

Any time someone gets injured, it looks pretty bad in the beginning, and you’re like, “What is this going to wind up like?” You just don’t know. It was also a perception thing, because I look at myself [now] and I see it quite a bit, but other people are like, “I wouldn’t have even noticed.” Nobody else looks at you as much as you think they do. Nobody notices as much as you think they will, so that’s been nice to learn.

On the advice she’d give young women to encourage them to be more confident:

The first thing I would tell them is that we’re all insecure; that’s just called being human. I feel like the most important thing to realize is that even people who seem to be superconfident have insecurities that they are dealing with. Honestly, you just do the best you can. Don’t worry about things you can’t change.

… says 35 year-old Carrie in Redbook.

I feel like she took the whole scar thing way out of proportion. It really is not as dramatic as she makes it seem to be; you can’t even see it really.

yeah, she’s 35 and just now shared that she had a realization that the world doesn’t revolve around her or her looks. fame has a nasty affect on people who enter the entertainment world without a solid understanding of what the “self”/ ego is. good for her for acknowledging this but spare me for i’ll not play into her pity party nor will i buy into her commercially sound words (provided by her publicist).

Is the scar covered with hair or something? You’d think hlf her face had fallen off from this quote. It sounds sensible, though.
Her lips look terribly plastic on the cover.

I’d normally make some positive comment about how “if it bothers her I’m sure it may have been more upsetting than we realized” but this dumb bimbo literally made a whole ALBUM crying about a 1cm barely visible line on her lip

I still don’t see it??! It was just her lip?
How did she get 40-50 stitches and not a single thing is visible? I had about 8 in front of my ear and I can still see the scar.

Unless you’re a celebrity, then everyone will study every pore, and judge you accordingly lol
