On what she loves most about her body:
“I can’t say my ankles because it sounds really weird, but I really love my ankles! (laughs) And I love my legs. I would say my legs. And my eyebrows, but they’re not really a body part!”
On whether she has always been confident and happy with her body:
“Yes I have, since I was a kid. I think it has a lot to do with parenting. And also, I am part Lebanese, and my body isn’t out of the norm of those beauty standards. I have never really felt like an outcast. It wasn’t until I got into this career that I felt I was different. No one really pointed it out until my blog became popular.”
On her insecurities:
“Yeah, I’ll pick at myself for certain things that I wouldn’t before. Like, ‘I want a bigger upper lip’ – but then I see someone with lip injections and I am like, wait a second, I am so cute already… (laughs) I don’t want to get caught up in that whirlwind.”
And an older quote coming from Nadia:
I’m technically not plus-size but I’m on the cusp. It’s something people use in the industry to label everyone else because they’re not used to somebody not being a size zero or two. “[People say] I’m fat, ugly, conceited. I come off like I’m conceited and cocky because I’m bigger, and [they] don’t think I should be. In every interview I do, I’m asked, ‘how are you so confident? You wouldn’t ask Rihanna that. You wouldn’t ask Beyoncé. People think, ‘why is she confident and I’m not happy with myself?’ Just because I’m bigger and society doesn’t accept people like me. Well, I still think I’m attractive. That’s not a conceited thing – that’s just, you know, you should think you’re pretty. You should be your number one fan.

Blogger Amanda Lauren is an overnight ‘celebrity’ as she wrote not one, but two extremely controversial articles in the past 2 days. In the first one, Amanda basically says that she feels ‘blessed’ that her former (mentally ill) friend had died – you can read about it HERE. The second article written by the blogger and published on xoJane pertains more to our niche, as the newlywed says that the key to a successful marriage is ‘looking hot’. More from Daily Mail:
A woman has controversially claimed that a wife should ‘stay hot’ for her husband to maintain a successful marriage in return for expensive vacuum cleaners and extra leeway when running late. Amanda Lauren, who lives in Los Angeles, said in addition to her marriage vows at her recent wedding, she also made an additional promise – to look good for her husband.
In the essay, entitled Staying Hot For My Husband Is Essential To A Successful Marriage, she writes: ‘When we were married a few weeks ago in front of our families, friends and a Rabbi, I vowed to stay hot for [my] husband.’ Amanda, who did not comment on whether her husband has made a similar promise, said the ‘decline of your physical appearance’ can reflect badly on a relationship.
In one of her most controversial claims, she writes: ‘I’ve always wondered why so many women let themselves go in relationships. I see the look on my husband’s face when I come out of the bathroom, ready for a night out, or the way he checks out my butt on the way to Pilates class. Having an attractive wife makes him happy. They say “Happy wife, happy life,” but I’m happiest when my husband is happy. If men can’t help but be visual creatures, I need to oblige. And while I’m not sure if his friends are jealous so to say, they do acknowledge he has a hot wife.’
