‘I’ve been to a million auditions and have been rejected a million times, so it’s something that I’m used to. You’re either right for it or you’re not right for it. You could leave thinking you had the best audition in the world and they say you don’t look like the person I imagined. It has nothing to do with your talent. Someone could have just broken up with a redhead the other day and not want to hire me.’
37 year-old Christina Hendricks showed up at the AFI Awards in Beverly Hills at the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday and she posed for the photographers while wearing a long floral print dress with a little cleavage.
‘When I first started modelling I was blonde. Then I got a job and they wanted to do my hair bright red. I’d always wanted to, but the head of my agency was like, “You look terrible, it’s so ugly, you cannot have red hair.”
‘I came back as a redhead and couldn’t get my hair back to blonde for two days – in the meantime I had to audition.
‘I booked two or three jobs, because were a lot fewer redheads than blondes, and I was like, this is working for me, I’m keeping this!’
