It gets to be euphoric, and then it’s like food poisoning, you feel like you’ll never eat again, and then before you know it you’re pigging out with the feed bag strapped to your face. And I’m a foodie, and love food, and I travel the world for food, so I get heavy again between the show.
On being mistaken for pregnant:
This woman stopped me and was like, “God, you have so many kids,” and I go, “Well not all of them are mine, I just have two,”‘ Drew said. ‘And she said, “Well, and you’re expecting, obviously.” And I literally looked at her and go, “No, I’m just fat right now.” Oh man, that is rough. I was, like, “I’ll just tell this story and make fun of myself,” but she’s a b***h.
Mom-of-two Drew Barrymore recently opened up in an interview about her 20 pound weight loss. The bubbly 41 year-old actress, who is 5’4”/ 163 cm says that she currently weighs 124 lbs:
On how she achieved the weight 20 pound weight loss:
I’ve been very disciplined and all I did was cry and dream about pizza. I still am dreaming and crying about pizza.
On her weight:
I was 144 and now I’m 124. I did it on the filming of a Netflix show [Santa Clarita Diet]. I feel really great. I followed Kimberly Snyder’s methods, but I added some protein like fish and chicken since she’s all vegetarian or vegan.
On her future plans:
The holidays are coming up, so I’m going to enjoy some of that stuffing!
On how she doesn’t give much importance to her appearance, especially as she takes her daughter to school:
I went to parent’s night, and I wore some lipstick and concealer, and I thought the people at school looked at me kind of differently,’ she explained to them. I normally come with acne, and Ugg boots, and I thought they were like: “Oh that’s nice, she made a little bit of an effort.”
“Hot is a state of mind. It’s an energy. You’re hot when you’re motivated. It means you want it and you’re going after it. Hot isn’t about being on the A-list of having a hot body. It’s literally people who are on fire. Like Lena Dunham is on fire. Amy Schumer. Louis C.K. I think their brands of comedy and observational life stuff are some of the coolest I’ve seen in so many years.”
‘I’d drive myself nuts if I were obsessed with body image. I am who I am, and I just don’t have a bikini body, I don’t even have a one-piece any more. It’s ‘crazytown’ to want to be something you’re not. The messages we send to ourselves and to other women, what we relay to our children, those messages have to be based on reality.’
