On why women should not weigh themselves:
There is something punitive about weighing yourself. It can leave you vulnerable to shame and guilt, and it messes with you psychologically. Women naturally gain and lose weight during their monthly cycle anyway, so it can be more realistic to monitor your body shape with a measuring tape.

On whether she smokes:
“I smoke one cigarette a week. The girlfriends I smoke with know about it, but I would never do it in front of my kids.”
On how sunbathing can’t be bad:
“I don’t think anything that is natural can be bad for you. I try to get at least 15 minutes of sun a day… We’re human beings and the sun is the sun – how can it be bad for you?”
On her guilty pleasures:
”I love Starbucks; I’ll have a cappuccino. My guilty snack in the UK is cheese, and in America, things on buns: A lobster roll and French fries, or a turkey burger with cheese.”

On how she styles herself:
“I love that cool, slightly undone look you get with a dark, smudgy eye. You see that a lot in London, there’s a really cool vibe here at the moment where the look is glam, but a little edgier.”
“I’m a big fan of a simple red lip teamed with fresh skin. I think it’s a strong statement and a really good look for me personally. I change things up on a night out by wearing a smokey eye.”

On her skin:
“I really used to be bad with products, but now I exfoliate every night and use a lot of organic oils on my face,” she confides. (She’s a Sonya Dakar fan.) “And I have a great dermatologist in L.A. who gave me this amazing laser the last time I was there. It’s called Thermage. It’s not invasive. I went out to dinner right afterward and I didn’t look crazy, but it’s quite painful. It feels like someone’s smacking your face with a rubber band that has an electric shock in it. But I would do it again, because I feel like it took five years off my face.”
On Botox & plastic surgery:
“I’ve probably tried everything. I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”
“I don’t hold on to fear as much as I used to, because I’ve learned a lot about genuinely not caring what strangers think about me,” she says. “It’s very liberating. It’s very empowering, and I’ve learned a lot of that from Jay—Shawn Carter—Z, because his approach to life is very internal. It’s a very good lesson to learn.”
