Priyanka Chopra has described beauty as ‘a necessary evil’ in a new interview with Allure for their digital cover package.
The 35-year-old former Miss World winner also admitted that while growing up she originally wanted to be an engineer before realizing ‘girl, you can’t pass a reflective surface without looking at yourself.’
Despite her reservations about beauty, the Quantico star admitted, ‘I’m also the kind of girl who likes to be turned out. I like to get dressed up.’
The girlfriend of Nick Jonas added, ‘I’m not saying become vain and narcissistic. But I’m saying sometimes, you just need a moment.’
The Baywatch actress’ entry to the pageant world began when her mother sent photos of her to the Miss India pageant committee.
‘[My mother] thought those soft-focus pictures were real cute. They weren’t,’ said Chopra.
On how she’s lost parts because of having the ‘wrong physicality’:
“It happened last year. I was out for a movie, and somebody [from the studio] called one of my agents and said, ‘She’s the wrong—what word did they used?—‘physicality.’ So in my defense as an actor, I’m like, ‘Do I need to be skinnier? Do I need to get in shape? Do I need to have abs?’ Like, what does ‘wrong physicality’ mean? And then my agent broke it down for me. Like, ‘I think, Priy, they meant that they wanted someone who’s not brown.’ It affected me.”
Bikini Treat: 34 year-old Priyanka Chopra enjoyed some fun time in the sun on the beach in Miami this week – and on this occasion, she revealed her slim body and ‘blessed Indian genes’ in a tie dye bikini.
