“I remember not being able to have the bagel or anything at [craft services] – we call it crafty – where it’s just a table of food ready for you to eat whenever you want. And I remember people were like, ‘You can’t eat that. You’re getting fat.’ I’m like, ‘I’m 7! I’m hungry!’”
On body image:
“It’s more than what’s just the food – it’s what’s in the food. Your cortisol level and your serotonin level have a really strong influence on your body type. You put nasty stuff, images of women I’ll never to aspire to [in front of me], of course I’m going to get depressed. I lost weight to keep them people from talking to me. I got tired and irritated.”
We’ve seen slimmed down Raven-Symone looking great at People’s Choice Awards a few days ago. But Raven is not necessarily happier post-weight loss:
‘Actually, now I wear bigger clothes because I don’t like the way people stare at me. I liked it before. Now, you’re just looking at me for the wrong reasons. Before, you were actually looking at me for a real reason.’
‘I thought I looked fabulous before and nobody else did. So, whatever.’
Raven also mentioned that her weight loss was not intentional, explaining:
That’s what stress does to you. I’ve been not stressing. I’ve been in my own house, decorating and finding hobbies.’

There were lots of young celebs at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards last night – and after admiring (or not) Minka, Leighton and Ashley in previous posts, it’s time for 4 more beauties: AnnaLynne McCord (23), whose pictures were a row of sexy poses and pouty kisses, a slimmer Raven-Symone (25), and 2 ultra-feminine ladies: Selena Gomez (18) and Taylor Swift (21).
I noticed that Raven-Symone has lost some weight, but I didn’t estimate it around 35 pounds. Here’s what Star Magazine says:
Raven-Symone has always been frank about her weight struggles. “When I’m stressed, I gain,†she says. Judging from her appearance at the September 25 Teen Vogue party in LA, things are going great for the Disney star! Dr. Michael Aziz, author of The Perfect 10 Diet, believes the 5′2″ actress shed 35 pounds over the past few months. “Raven was obese,†Dr. Aziz tells Star. “Although she’s naturally a full-figured girl, she’s at a much healthier weight now.â€
