Joanna Krupa: “There is absolutely no excuse in not staying fit”

4564EF8E00000578-4985528-image-a-1_1508167288809 - Joanna Krupa: "There is absolutely no excuse in not staying fit"

On her 2000 calories / day lifestyle:

Over the years during my career I heard so many comments … “she probably starves herself etc” I have always eaten anything I wanted.  I maintain a diet of 2000 calories a day no matter if I workout that day or not. I make sure to workout 2-5 times a week depending on my schedule.

On how she never gets lazy:

I don’t get lazy even when tired after work or on a vacation ….I find time to be active. It’s called being ambitious and dedicated. It’s a choice. For those that don’t follow that please don’t judge those that choose to be fit.

On how there are no excuses for not being fit:

There is absolutely no excuse in not staying fit and healthy at any age! Motivation and drive is the key. If u love yourself you will find the determination within yourself to get off the sofa and make a change in your life and not judge others that do.

… says 38 year-old Joanna.

More of her inside!

Disability, illness, depression, anxiety, most mental illnesses for that matter, having to take care of ill family members that consumes all your time, having to work 3 jobs to survive… I can think of a million VALID excuses for not being able to stay fit. Depression is the worst and most common though.

F*ck yes. I have CPTSD, chronic insomnia, and an eating disorder. I find it very hard. She can bugger off.

Well.. The thing is if you exercise and eat healthy you can actually reverse alot of syndroms, its not like exercise or eating healthy is bad. And its a choice, u either want it enough to commit yourself, or ur not into it. Eating junkfood and layin on The sofa is something fit people also like to do. To The comment above yours, its kind of sad thinking having other responsibilities in life would be an excuse to not find time 30 minutes/Day or 2-3 hours a week to be active, like even walking to work or Playing With ur… Read more »

Your comment shows that you are a privileged person – I am happy for you that you clearly do not understand what mental illness means. Depression and metal illnesses are not ‘life responsibilities’, they are serious diseases that incapacitate you. You simply do not have the willpower to get out of bed, get dressed, eat, brush teeth… so the last thing you have willpower for is fitness. When willpower is the only thing in the way of you being fit, then you are a lucky, privileged person (and I say this while being envious), so count your blessings.

There is no such thing as will power. There is only habit. Habit creates will. Will doesn’t crest habit.

When you are depressed or mentally ill you can not develop healthy habits, that is exactly my point. Severely depressed people are not even capable of caring for their children, let alone exercise.

Willpower is a real and finite resource. This is a great book on the subject: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willpower:_Rediscovering_the_Greatest_Human_Strength

I’d like to think will creates habit. What are things such as motivation, inspiration, intention then? All formed of will to do better.

A physical disability or cancer can’t be reversed with exercise. If you are broke and about to be evicted, you should probably skip jogging and work extra to find money. WHY DOES THIS NEED TO BE SAID?

Incredibly ignorant. And yes, check your privilege.

Actually all of you are jumping to assumptions that im priviligied, none of you know anything about me, but u know how to make excuses. Im well aware severe depressions and cancer can be a hindrance, im also aware of thee fact that lifestyle choices affect the outcome of how that “dis-ease”is going to pan out. And for those of you who are so unpriviligied to have axess to all the information online, and no capacity of even imagining how someone can overcome such a thing as a disability and or disease, i recommend, knowledge :)YES …actual disabled and sick… Read more »

@softly You are definitely a superior being, clearly. Maybe you should read about Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Sofly, I totally agree with you! To be fit is a choice and if you want to be fit, be committed to that. There are a lot of lazy people neglecting themselves and constantly being inactive.
If you are fit, healthy, taking care of yourself you will NEVER be ill, have diseases or any kind of disorder.
Why the people from Europe generally never complain and find excuses to be fit all the time?

Uma

That’s BS, fit people get sick too. I happen to know a young, healthy, fit guy, runner for many years, who has been battling cancer for the last couple of years now. Yes, being fit is good, of course, but saying that you can never get sick or get any kind of disorder is absolutely misinformed.

yeah but the chance is dramatically lower, thats like the person saying “well my grandma lived to be 107 and she smoked a pack everyday”. anecdotes don’t rule over facts and statistics.

Seriously though. Her “get off the sofa” remark is extremely insenstive and ignorant.

My partner has diagnosed mental illness (chronic depression and OCD – he has lived with for many years), and finds that things tend to spiral downwards when he doesn’t get to the gym, and is more sedentary. He is able to recognize this pattern and basically forces himself to go because he knows the depression will lessen. Just my 2 cents!

“Career”? She has no career. Nor is she attractive in an interesting way. And her comment is pathetic.

I don’t know who this person is but she sounds so arrogant, and she also looks smug (and also like she has had a lot of things done). Comes across as the kind of person I know I wouldn’t like in real life.

Jen

She was on the Real Housewives of Miami. She does a lot of work with animal rescues so she is okay in my book.

Well that’s an exceptionally privileged point of view. I understand why she’d be considered attractive by some, but such a myopic world view makes her so ugly to me.

That and “TBH”
“But honesty makes everything okay, just because I’m being deliberately rude and nasty to someone ya’ll can’t get offended by it because I’m just being so honest” *starts teardown critique*

Kia
Guest

You guys are pus-ies, I agree with her and I’m fat…she’s not even judgmental she’s just saying not to look down on people who chose to do the job of staying fit, it would be nice to have a two ways respect. she’s doing good fitness wise!

Gen
Guest

So you agree that someone who has a serious medical or mental issue is just being a lazy couch potato? Because that’s exactly what she’s saying. “Absolutely no excuse” being her exact words. My grandmother was 105 when she died and spent most of the last years of her life bedridden. Guess that was just an excuse and she didn’t love herself enough to find the time to stay fit.

Kia

omg you’re a drama queen

Ah, I see. Please explain your standing on this issue or I shall simply assume you are trolling for attention. In which case you will be ignored and I encourage you to go to dictionary dot com to improve your vocabulary.

“no excuse” is an expression. She is trying to underline what she mean to say. Don’t pick on every single word. Of course that there could be a million reasons. But if you are in good health and want to be fit, there is just NO F**KING EXCUSE!

Guest
OldMedusa

I agree that it’s important to take the time to take care of your body through fitness and healthy eating, however she doesn’t acknowledge the fact that finding that time is much easier when you’re wealthy and don’t have a real job or kids. Essentially, her job is to be fit and attractive and go to the gym, whereas the average person has to fit that in with all their other responsibilities.

Pixie

Her quotes make her sound bitter and like a b-word. But she’s someone I find really gorgeous and I like that she is past her early 30’s. Let’s me know I have over 15 years to still look hot if I maintain.

Nobody

Of course it’s easy for her to stay in shape cuz she doesn’t have a real job. Not sure if she has kids, but if she does, she can afford to hire nannies so she can work out whenever she wants and for how long she wants. Furthermore she can afford fitness experts, chefs, dieticians, etc. to help her stay fit…and when all those things don’t help as much anymore, she can also afford a plastic surgeon (obvious she has had work done). So yeah, she has no excuse not to be fit lol.

Kia
Guest

I can’t believe all the people with this sick mindset, she isn’t even judging!

Umm so first of all, what’s your problem? Second, this skinny, fake looking rich non-working person with no kids has no business telling people to just “not be lazy, no excuses” BS etc. For me, it comes across as arrogant, condescending and judgmental. I have a real life, as do many others, which includes taking care of a 3 yr old, cooking and cleaning most of the day, working part time, and dealing with PCOS and migraines. I work out regularly and I’m in good shape, but I struggle for every pound lost and struggle to find the energy…me not… Read more »

She never even had kids. I was always size 2 before I had mine, now I’m 8. After a whole day of work and taking care of my family, I just wanna check out and lie down. Sorry, no workout here.

I agree with her. Our society just keeps making more and more excuses for getting fatter and fatter and because we make excuses we continue to keep getting fatter and fatter.

Must be nice to be able to eat 2000 a day, only work out 2-5 Times a week and still look like that. Most people would have to do more and eat less to be that lean.

Girl is privileged af. She bought her beauty at 38. Her smug duck face is not the only thing a plastic surgeon touched. She for sure did breast augmentation and some kind of fat reduction procedure. With money and time, any woman can look better.
