New Mom Tiffani Thiessen Talks Losing Weight

rachel-roy-presentation - New Mom Tiffani Thiessen Talks Losing Weight

White Collar actress Tiffany Thiessen gave birth 2 months ago, after gaining almost 50 pounds during her pregnancy. Here’s what she has to say about the weight loss process:

“These last 20 are really super stubborn. When you’re running on four hours of sleep it’s a little hard to get motivated but I am definitely trying. I’m going to the gym three to four times a week and I started to run again. It’s about trying to balance and find the time to do it.”

Well, 30 pounds in 2 months is definitely nothing to complain about!

first, being pregnant does mean gaining weight. depending on your weight to begin with most women should gain around 25-30 lbs.

i believe many celebs gain a lot more than this because they are always on such strict diets and when they get pregnant its a license to gain a lot of weight. it’s the only time when they can eat what they want, get really fat, and not get ripped apart by the media since they have an “excuse” (i.e. their body is creating a baby)

Maybe they gain a little more during pregnancy because they are “underweight” most of the time and need to bulk up to nourish the child properly while pregnant, 25-30 lbs is only a guideline.. If someone is 105 lbs in hollywood (while they should weight closer to 125 lbs to be nourishing themselves properly) perhaps gaining 50 lbs in pregnancy is best for them. She looks very healthy and glowing in the photo of her during her pregnancy, not like someone who has a new found “excuse” to over-eat or “get really fat”. Its a shame that women often take… Read more »

it’s also a big hormones thing, water retention, all your body chemicals all messed up, my SIL gained 70 pounds in her first pregnancy, then lost 10 overall once she had her second baby (morning sickness through gestation)

i think she is being impatient! the problem every one on a diet has, you put in a certain amount of work and then expect perfect results, but it takes longer than 2 months to shed 50 pounds, even counting the baby made up some of them!

At the risk of sounding stupid, when all these celebs talk about “gaining” weight, do they count the part that is the baby, the placenta… Bc in that case, i don’t really see it as the person themselves gaining and losing weight, it’s not their fat and muscle. Of course it counts when the doctors determine whether the pregnancy is going as it should be, but when it comes to getting down to the original size, it’s more about what you weigh after the baby is born. Idk, maybe they mean it like that, but i doubt it. Tiffani seems… Read more »

my baby is exactly 2 months today, i gained 52 lbs
and i have already lost 35lbs,still working on the 17lbs.The first 20 lbs fell off by week 3, then diet and exercise takes care of the rest. Losing baby weight is not hard, being motivated to to lose weight is very hard.

I agree with you except for the last sentence. The last few pounds can be VERY hard. Congratulations on your baby and your weight loss!

It’s always the last 10-20 lbs of baby weight that are the hardest to lose. How much you gain really depends on how big you are before you became pregnant, and how big the baby is. I was underweight when I first became pregnant and gained 40 lbs. I was in a healthy weight range for the 3rd and only gained 25 lbs. I’ve known overweight or obese women who actually lose weight or gain very little when pregnant.
