Fergie Brings the Quotes of the Day

glamourdec - Fergie Brings the Quotes of the Day

On working out: “I work out all the time… Cardio, resistance and a lot of jogging. I love to go hiking. I’m bringing my trainer on tour. I said I’m going to invest this in myself, into my self-worth, into my self-esteem.”

On women with low self-esteem: “It’s become actually the norm, I feel. And it’s really sad. The thing that I can say is, you’re not alone. [And if] you start making the right choices for yourself, all of a sudden you start feeling better and better. You’d be surprised how addicting high self-esteem is.”

When asked about her “sobriety” in the context of her crystal meth addiction: “Well, I’m not claiming to be sober. I think that that would be misleading. I drink alcohol. My father has a vineyard, and [the wine is] really delicious, by the way. Anyway, for most addicts, they would advise never to have any sort of substance. I just have my own journey, and I am very blessed to this day to be alive.”

… says Fergie in Glamour Magazine.

  1. true, the better i eat and the more i work out the more i wanna do it and the better i feel about myself. you just gotta know when to slow down so it doesnt turn into an eating disorder.

  2. “[And if] you start making the right choices for yourself, all of a sudden you start feeling better and better. You’d be surprised how addicting high self-esteem is.”

    • it’s not like here is a single road to sobriety. Obivously indulging in drinking everye once in a while is something that works for her. Crystal Meth is a lot more addicting than alcohol, and it’s possible that she can drink without any consequences; I personally know people who have been addicted to one drug but not others. I don’t think it’s fair to judge her like that, it’s not like she’s claiminig to be an expert.

  3. It`s nice to see her healty and happy that she`s stil alive.
She looks good on the cover by the way and nice to be blnde again.
Yesterday i was in the mood to hear her solo album cos i really like that album especially the song FINALLY

  4. Versus, very sorry to bother you,
but could you please help me out a bit with my bodyshape?
Im 36-22-36, but gain most of my weight in my arms and legs, which is strange to say the least.

    • No bother 🙂
You know, I’ve heard girls describe this shape before, but I can’t be sure what it is. I guess Hayden Panettiere has a similar shape and so does Kelly Osbourne, but you have more defined proportions. You sound slim and curvy, you have the measurements to be a true hourglass or at least a vase. I would need a picture to be sure.

      • I would like to ask the same question, if that is not a bother to you Versus. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable about body shapes. My measurements are something like 34-26-38 and I gain weight all over, like I get big as a whole but I have always had thin (and kind of muscular) lower legs. And I am 5”6′, if that helps.

        • Your measurements would typically indicate a pear shape, but you say that you gain weight all over. If your shoulders are not smaller than your hips and your b❆❆bs are big, then you could be an hourglass or a vase. You are an hourglass if you have a shorter torso and a very defined waist. Both hourglasses and vases have normal, slim legs.

      • Versus: My measurements are 36B-26-41. I am not a pear shape as my hips are very high up and I do not have saddlebags or cankles. I think I am a spoon shape. Do you know any celebrities with this shape?? I can gain on upper arms, thighs and tummy but it’s all proportional. I never really have bulges. Apart from the love handles 😛 But they’re like,SOLID hip. Barely any fat. My shoulders and hips are similar width too, another sign that I am not a pear. Suggestions, please?????

        • Yes, you might be a spoon shape or in Trinny and Susannah’s book, a bell shape. I would say that Kate Hudson and Eva Longoria are slim bell shapes: they gain on the tummy and high hips, but still look proportional.

  5. She is an addict she really has to be careful with the alcohol. I am not judging her and maybe it does work for her but really dangerous.

  6. im glad that she admits to working out a lot……….
completely agree…i noticed in my exam period when i was working out and eating less id get extremely grumpy…..it just makes you feel so much better and for me more optimistic when you are eating and exercising healthily

  7. remember when she peed herself on stage? Never knew she was on chrystal meth then but I knew she had to be on something serious. Glad she is at least limiting it to just alcohol now…hopefully she stays within safe boundaries.

I agree with her on the exercising and eating healthy. I find that I have the highest boost of confidence when i am at a happy medium at both. Although sometimes I feel working out gives me a carte blanche right to eat waaay past my average intake and i end up gaining weight. SMH. anywho, happiness is finding the right balance for sure.

  8. I say good luck to her I really like Fergie and her drug of choice was crystal meth not alcohol. Its just that some black belt 12 step members believe that if you are addicted to one substance you are addicted to all of them. But does that mean food addicts, shopping addicts should give up alcohol? Its not that clear cut. Sobriety is a journey and not a destination and addiction is compulsive behaviour that a person has no control over due to low self esteem, low self worth, no self love. The substance the addict uses is the symptom is not the cause hence the term “dry drunk” and addict has the same behaviour but without the substance/drug abuse. Fergie has self esteem, self love and a healthy sobriety good for her. To me everything she says is spot on. Any choice that involves elevating your self esteem, encourages loving and taking care of yourself is always the right choice.

  9. I thought Fergie hasn’t been on meth for like 8 years, suprised they still bring it up in so many interviews. Glad that she’s happy in life now.
