Gwyneth Paltrow: “I just tried a goat milk cleanse for eight days”

goop1 - Gwyneth Paltrow: "I just tried a goat milk cleanse for eight days"

On her 8-day, goat-milk-only cleanse:

I just tried a goat milk cleanse for eight days to rid my system of parasites. That was really interesting. It’s only goat’s milk and herbs. The theory is that we all have parasites, and they love the milk protein. So if you eat nothing else, they all come out of the intestinal wall and then you kill them with the herbs.

On her diet when she’s not doing goat milk cleanses:

For me, it’s a combination of what I’m eating and what I’m taking. I have a pretty healthy diet, so when I’m eating processed foods and not watching my alcohol intake, I feel it. But at the same time, you want deliciousness, you want a fun life—pleasure! You’re going to have a baguette-and-cheese-and-red-wine frenzy sometimes—but you want it to be a choice you’re awake to: “I know this might not make me feel great, but today I’m choosing it anyway.”

… says Gwyneth in Women’s Health.

I agree with the last paragraph. The rest is absolutely ridiculous and false, I can’t even.

Parasites? And they’re attracted to goat milk, and… what? Sometimes I feel mean for bashing her but she’s just begging for it, c’mon. Hey, Gwen, I’ve got a mansion on Mars I’m looking to sell, you interested?

Jesus Christ. This has got to be the dumbest way of saying “I starved myself for 8 days so I could look good for these photos” I ever read.

I just noticed the “how to spot fake health news” headline on the cover. How ironic.

Who wants to bet that gweynny somehow got out of taking science class when she was in high school?

Awww, Gwynnie is trolling. Again. She needs us to keep talking about her and he only way to ensure that we do is to make preposterous comments about goats milk, v~~~~~ steams and stones, and the importance of moderation. TROLLING. She does look nice in this heavily shopped pic though. But really what ese is she capable of doing? Not much of an actor and did she finish hgh school because she didn’t go to university. Talking to her and listenng to her must be excruciatingly boring.

And the irony of ‘How to spot fake health news’. The magazine is either trolling Gwynnie or all of us.

The second paragraph makes sense. It’s good to make conscious decisions about eating. The first paragraph though…. WHAT lmao?

I actually do think she has a good figure, and she clearly works for it…but holy cow, she says some of the weirdest things (for attention, I assume). That goat milk binge also sounds like it would be…um, uncomfortable, to say the least. The main thing that bugs me about her is that she constantly changes her diet/eating philosophy and then preaches it like it’s gospel. She had an Italian cookbook coming out, so she loved pasta and oil. Then she had a gluten-free book coming out, so she was totally GF. Also, the whole “steam your hoo-ha and put… Read more »

What is wrong with all of you. Before bashing her. Did you research parasites yourself? Ever heard of H.pylory. My sister has it and can only be healed with strong antibiotics. And you catch it from contaminated foods. Its cancer causing by little bugs in you intestines walls that are smart to hide and causing inflamation. And not always antibiotic cures it. You should fast 2 weeks on a broccoli diet to starve them and they eat it and die. Ever heard of our grandmothers stories putting milk at you mouth for the tape worm to come out? Yea she… Read more »

Having helicobacter pylory is a disease and its catogorized as it, cured with antibiotics as you said – what she is saying is total nonsense and as someone said – excuse for starving. -.-

i cant believe that people, even with ample scientific evidence debunking this stuff, and the internet to read these studies that debunk them, still cling to false treatments.
I dont blame them in a way – there are entire unscrupulous industries in the “health and wellness” category that unlike other legitimate health/wellness people, are just looking for a quick buck through fear mongering

Omg your comment, haha
I honestly screenshotted it, it cracked me up so hard! You’re DEF gonna have parasites after drinking all of Goopy’s koolaid like that ;P

H.pylori is a bacteria not a parasite. It’s also a real, diagnosable and treatable disease. If you have undiagnosed parasites roaming around your stomach/intestines, you are in for some very very bad news. You sound young and ignorant, please stop following celebrity non-sense and get an education before you make a total fool of yourself. And no, most people do not need to research parasites, we learn about stuff like this in elementary school.

I’m a gastroenterologist and antibiotics and acid suppressing medications is what kills h pylori. I don’t encourage my patients in that situation to try homeopathic remedies as the infection can lead to ulceration and cancer in your stomach. other times, sure if you can tolerate a home remedy then by all means try it but empiric science is always going to lead my decision of how someone should treat conditions. Our bodies are riddled with bacteria and guess what it needs to be.

I agree about conscious choices. But the goat milk thing is utter nonsense.

It’s obvious that a lot of the weird things she has tried do nothing, and she is obviously aware of it or she would stick with something. I appreciate the fact that she is so open about some of the dumb things she tries instead of the generic lines about metabolism or genes or how she eats everything etc. Like, she doesn’t tell people to go do the stupid goat’s milk cleanse she basically just says yeah lol so the theory is parasites (insert aliens guy meme here)

Whateves. I love Gwyneth. The GOOP site has all kinds of great advice, and sure, they do some wild and out there things… but I don’t know why people get so personally offended over it. If you actually read the site, there’s great content on a wide range of subjects and it doesn’t only speak to people with more money than they know what to do with (though there are some splurge recommendations that I could only dream of). Furthermore, I love that she has a natural look – she seems to be aging gracefully with minimal work. She’s got… Read more »

What I find offensive about Gwyneth is when she promotes dangerous things for blatantly sexist reasons. “Stick a rock up your V to tighten up those muscles so that your man gets pleased! Who cares if it could hurt you with dangerous bacteria, your man’s pleasure is more important than your own health!”
THAT I find highly offensive. And comments like yours just perpetuate the the notion that being a feminist is “just about being a hater, lol”
