On beauty versus attractiveness:

I don’t really like the word “beauty”. There are physically beautiful people in the world (David Beckham, for instance, is unbelievably beautiful), then there are other people that are not beautiful, but are very attractive because of their personality, energy, brilliance, genius: all kinds of things. So I have a resistance to the word “beautiful”. I wish we could find another word that takes it away from physical beauty and brings it more into the world of true attractiveness.

  1. I normally use beautiful to mean more than appearance. I like what she’s saying.

I actually use “attractive” to mean a pleasing personality too, like that you’re drawn to someone, outside of the physical, but in addition to it as well.

Helen is beautiful, attractive, and physically lovely.

  2. I agree completely. Nowdays it’s all abou looks. What about being attractive? It can be smarts, a good sense of humor or just a face that isn’t modeling blessed, yet still sexy. We’ve gone too far with the artificiality nowdays and with the obsession of youth. Especially in Hollyweird. It’s so fake nowdays I can’t stand a single thing the produce, music or film.

No more real actors, musicians, and god awful screenwriting.
