On feeling sexualized in her ultra-racy phase:

In the beginning, it was kind of like saying, “F**k you. Girls should be able to have this freedom or whatever.” But it got to a point where I did feel sexualized.

On how you can be a role model when your tits are out:

How can I f~~~ing be the role model I’m supposed to be? Yeah, I just said “f~~~ing role model.” Who gives a s***? Because I got my tits out before doesn’t make me less of a role model.

On the fact that everyone is naked these days, but she did it first:

Even at the Met Gala, everyone had their b~~~~ out, everyone had their ass out, so what’s punk about that now? It’s more punk actually for me to not.

I agree with her – she was young and probably getting a lot of pressure from execs, and still growing/maturing as a person. I find it far more interesting and ‘punk’ when women don’t have their tits out all the time, see-through outfits, stupid for-the-camera pouty expressions, one leg strategically placed in front of the other, hyper-sexualized open-mouth blowupdoll expressions. Our whole culture now celebrates p~~~, ignorance, and idiocy. Genuine intimacy and style are slipping away. Sex for the sake of enjoyment and pleasure heeding to believing that domination and submission are the norm. Vajayjays having to be bald or… Read more »

…So, what’s her message…? Cause what I think I just read was: I wanted the freedom to be sexual, but once others saw me as sexual, it wasn’t ok anymore. Plus, lots of women are being free with their sexuality now, so it’s better/cooler to not.

i kinda heard the same thing. she just wants to stand out and be different, which I suspect is why she started over sexualizing herself in the fist place. there was a period in time after hannah montana ended and no one was talking about miley. no one cared what was going on with her so she started her twerking campaign and got the attention she desired.

I could see that view…

I read it like she thought that’s what sexual empowerment was… But now she realizes that’s not it… I think her work with the lgbtq and women’s groups have helped her. I know people don’t like her but I do. But I see your point

I really wish people would stop pretending walking around mostly naked and simulating sexual acts is an any way shape or form “empowering” or “liberating”

there is a lot comparing them… I’ve never been a swift fan but she gets a lot of praise for her good girl image while Miley is torn siren often in the media and I’ve just always found Miley to be more herself… And don’t f*ck Swift… Unf*ck her… 😂

Well she’s right in that it’s pretty much more rebellious for women to cover their bodies up these days, than it is to run around nearly naked.

Well, sounds like this was a classy interview.

(I can’t stand when celebrities like Miley or Kirsten Stewart have to drop the f-bomb in almost every response. I think it makes them seem try-hard or bratty, not cool or edgy like they probably think it does.)

Her songs are actually really good. Wrecking Ball? Come on, try and tell me that’s not a great song.

Why do people use words like “punk” in completely irrelevant contexts. I don’t hate her, but she doesn’t seem too intelligent.

Naked or clothed…still classless.
