Milla Jovovich: “I’m really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child”

39 year-old Milla Jovovich is currently 7 months with her second child – and this week, the beauty wrote a post on her Facebook page about her pregnancy weight gain and keeping healthy:

So the countdown to our new baby begins, we only have ten weeks to go! It’s so exciting, but at the same time daunting! lol! I’m hoping our experience with our first, Ever Gabo, has us prepared.

I’ve gained all the baby weight I need to have a healthy pregnancy -30 lbs.- and as of last week, I’ve started having to be really careful about my lifestyle so I don’t continue to gain unnecessarily; which is not healthy for me OR my newborn.

I’m really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming “Resident Evil- The Final Chapter” in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously (get ready wardrobe department for Alice’s new “easy mama access” costume;)) so I don’t want to be on any extreme diets to get ready to go back to “action hero” mode!

Saying that, I’ve started taking long walks to keep my metabolism in high gear and working on a game plan with my trainer, Harley Pasternak to come up with the ideal daily diet for me.

Just so you understand, when I say diet, I’m not talking about losing weight, I’m talking about what I’m eating on a daily basis. I don’t want to lose ANY weight right now, because at 170 lbs. I’m at a perfect pregnancy weight for my height and build. I want to maintain where I’m at; my ideal being 175 all together (with a total of 35 lbs. gained over all through out my pregnancy).

I also want to be the healthiest I can to ensure the easiest delivery and no stress post birth when I have to establish a nursing routine, as well as, slowly getting myself and my family ready to move halfway across the world to make a big action movie with a lot of stunt work! Phew!

  1. And she should be proud! It’s not about size, it’s about health. Gaining a ton of weight during pregnancy, is just as unhealthy as not gaining enough weight. More people need to realize this.

  2. When I first saw her in Two Moon Junction, I thought she was such a pretty little girl. Now she looks like Linda Evangelista, whom I don’t find particularly pretty.

  3. Her daughter is adorable , like a softer looking version of milla, of course that’s also because she’s still a child
    Milla should definitely be proud of herself , balancing health and looking fit and strong and good , it’s quite difficult , I’m only 22 and I find it difficult already

  4. She’s always been and still is gorgeous, and i love her modeling and some of her acting. Her daughter is gorgeous and her family is cute in the pics, i wish her&her husband to survive as a family in Hwood, seems like it’s hard for many. Wish her an easy labor, a healthy baby and good luck with her “back to action movie star body” plan, i think it’s very stressful to have smth like that planned right after having a baby.

    • I think she has one of those bodies that will jump right back. I have to agree with your comment. I wish her and husband will survive as a family in Lala Land. Personally, I’d move out of California.

  5. I think people underestimate weight when it comes to taller women. Rebecca Romajin said in an interview that even at her thinnest she never weighed less than 140lbs. Adrianna Limas personal trainer said that her ideal weight was 135-140lbs for her height. However, internet sources estimate all their weights at about 120-130lbs. I find it interesting how differently people carry weight, as a tall girl myself I look unwell when I weigh less than 140lbs, however some people with the same height still look really healthy at 120lbs.

  6. That’s great that she’s at a perfect weight for her height right now, I just hope that diet coke she’s holding isn’t something she drinks often while pregnant…

    • Maybe she was holding it for her husband? lol. I gotta say though, even if it was hers, I’m sure she doesn’t drink it regularly. Women go crazy over pregnancies now a days… “Oh am I eating the right things?” “Is this bad?” I think it’s best to listen to your body. Indulging isn’t prohibited.
