Rihanna Does Vogue: “You want to have a butt, then you have a gut”

On how she keeps in shape:

Ok, you’re asking the wrong person. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m ‘thicc’ now. I don’t know.

On her not wanting to lose her curves:

I’m about to get back into the gym and stuff, and I hope I don’t lose my butt or my hips or all of my thighs. I’ll lose some but not all. And I think of my boobs, like, ‘Imma lose everything, everything goes!’ But, you know, it comes with a price. You want to have a butt, then you have a gut.’

… says Rihanna in Vogue.

wtf are they doing drawing those hideous “eyebrows” on her?! she’d look way more striking with none at all–just her eyes.

and i hate that vogue is drowning her lovely figure in all that fabric but hey, it’s vogue. that’s expected but it doesn’t make it ok. they show tess holiday in all her rolly unhealthiness and call her “empowering” yet cloak a lovely regular sized body in fabric?! please. the latter was just for the money–extremes get attention. now if only they would recognize natural bodies and get the RIGHT kind of attention…

Sounds very down to earth and relatable when someone like her could easily get bbl any day of the week to get a small waist and big butt, but I like that she remains natural. Balance is the best, do what makes you happy.

I get her point, but the way of gaining/losing curves she describes sound extremely nutrition-related. If you don’t work out your glutes/quads and start calorie restriction plus hella cardio, yeah you’re gonna loose your bum, but you can also grow them via working out. The boobs sadly, don’t even say goodbye and perish when you start loosing fat.

Those eyebrows are terrible! Reminds me of overplucked 90s eyebrows.
But I like her quote, it made me giggle.

string brows are coming back. Sad, but true.

I’m glad that she’s acknowledging that almost no one retains fat exclusively in the “desirable” areas— boobs and butt. Of course, strength training can help to sculpt the figure, but bodies that are extremely lean everywhere, with the exception of chest and backside, are usually not natural.
