Margot Robbie is my current girl crush, love her looks and personality!
Nicole Kidman was so stunning in Big Little Lies, but her red carpet looks are always fails to me. She looks way too severe.
Saoirse Ronan is not pretty at all.

I feel like dark skinned women can pull off vibrant colours like no tomorrow. It gives life to all the hues that otherwise look kind of bland on lighter toned women.

Racist

Yep I also thought that was a covert racist comment. But I see where it comes from; dark women are just not seen as beautiful by the world so in order to feel better about themselves, they put fair skinned women down. Ah well, the popular opinion won’t change anyway 😀

Uh no it just has to do with how colors play with each other. Bright colors wash out lighter skinned women and they stand out against dark skin and provide a pretty contrast.

That’s bulls*t. There is literally WAY more contrast between white and red/blue/green than there is between brown and red/blue/green. To “wash out” literally means to disappear. If anything pale colors such as baby blue and light pink “washes” out fair skinned people. Just like black, brown and grey “washes out” black and brown people. This is why blue eyes/white skin/dark brown hair is such a pretty look, because of CONTRAST. Dark skinned people have hardly ANY contrast because they have dark skin+dark eyes+dark hair (which is why they are dye their hair and buy contacts). They are dark all over.… Read more »

It is not racist saying vibrant colors looks better on dark skin. It says nothing Bad.

The original poster just HAD to make the comparison with white people though. She could’ve just said “women X, Y and Z look GREAT in those colors”. Just that it crossed her mind to compare with white women shows a great complex regarding her skin and how she is (not) perceived as beautiful.

There’s no such thing as reversed racism *rolleyes*

Of course there is, hypocrite. Caucasians just often ignore it because of the sense of entitlement you black people have, because of slavery. *rolleyes* back at ya.

Reverse racism isn’t a thing, it’s all just racism. Institutional racism is power + privilege, but interpersonal racism is just s~~~~~~~ on someone for the color of their skin. Do white people know what it feels like to be systematically disadvantaged? No. Does that mean you can be racist towards them because of it? No.

I totally agree. Neon colors on dark skinned ladies is my favorite. Something about the contrast and the way it makes their eyes pop.

And Lupita made that gold dress look A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

That dress and colour on Viola Davis is bomb. She could have done with a different hair style though. I don’t like the flatness on the top.

Surprisingly enough I like most (except Salma Hayek’s dress which looks like unicorn puke and its leash, and Whoopi Goldberg’s). I love the monumental but figure hugging silhouettes in one tone fabric. Lupita looks amazing, too. But in my opinion Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep blow most out of the water.

The jewells on Helen Mirren! Wow! They sure transformed that very simple dress. Jane Fonda looks amazing. Regarding the young ones I like Lupita the best! She is SO beautiful!

something’s off with Margot Robbie. Why doesn’t she look like she did on Wolf of Wall Street anymore?

I think she has just aged and wears a lot less makeup than she did in the movie. Also maybe Botox ? Speaking of … I thought jennifer garner was Caitlyn Jenner at first glance , I mean what did she do to her face…

I think its the makeup and way of carrying herself/expressions.

Sad to see how Sandra Bullock looks when she smiles, you can see how much she has done to her face 🙁 What the heck is Maya Rudolph wearing? 😛 Nicole Kidman looks way too skinny, and that dress doesn’t do her body any justice either :/ Jennifer Garner looks very bleh :/ Gal Gadot looks awful! :O She looks soo skinny, her dress just doesn’t look good on her, and that necklace looks so bad to that dress 🙁 Ashley Judd, it’s so sad to see one of the most beautiful women ever, look so fake in her face.… Read more »

The older the actress, the more well styled and polished she looked on average. Lesson for the kids out there, from Dame Mirren, Streep, Fonda, Kidman, etc. My favourite was probably Lupita though – fashionable, interesting, well-fitting, stunning!

PSA to ladies over 45: dark eye make-up and sleek hair are a bad choice. They make you look harsh and matronly. Take a hint from Meryl and Helen and soften it up a bit.

Awww. Jenifer Lawrence, who has so much going for her…For whom the entire world is her Oyster, can’t even manage a smile ? To quote Jay Leno: ” What’s up with that ! ? ” She has poise and style. But why the blank expression ? The Hispanic world has a most beautiful term for smile. They call it Sonrisa, as if to say Sunrise. Like her , I’m a Sun person too, being born on April 15. I can’t help but smile. Even in the face of overwhelming adversity. As Philip Ahn once told David Carradine in character :… Read more »

Lupita looks so stunning. But she never really fails on the red carpet. She is just perfect and has such a glow. Plus she’s a super talented actress, I hope there are many more great roles for her to come. Viola, I hate the bright pink but she looks so great in that dress. Whenever she wears colour, she is even more of a standout. I also really love Octavia Spencer’s gown. Doesn’t she always look fabulous on the Red Carpet? And that with keeping in mind it is much more difficult to find nice dresses, but she always manages… Read more »

Zendaya looks fabolous. I saw a video from red carpet with Allison Williams’s dress and she looks also perfect. Viola Davis was so good looking on the stage with that pink dress!
All of the rest are so boring to me

I don’t remember such a boring red carpet in years. Half of the dresses are terribly ill-fitting or in bland colours that really wash up the wearers, the older ladies are definitely better dressed than the younger actresses.
The only one I find remotely interesting is Zendaya, and I give Maya points for wearing something daring/alternative; I usually LOVE everything that Lupita wears but I find her just o.k. this time.
Oh, and Emily looks like she is cosplaying her own character, the ‘Ice queen’ from ‘The Huntsman’ series, lol.

Lupita, Gal Gadot and Mary J. Blidge looked the best.

Sandra Bullock has become almost unrecognizable. I wish actresses in general would messing with their faces.

Can I just give a shout out to Allison Janney for looking damn fine, let alone damn fine at 58.
