21 year-old Victoria’s Secret beauty Taylor Hill showed off her lean and fit figure as she did some sexy gymnastics moves in a skin-tone leotard for LOVE Magazine’s advent calendar.

And just like Ashley’s video, Taylor’s video is also empowering:

‘To me, I feel it is empowering women to be sexy and be who they are, for just themselves, no one else.’

… says Taylor.

While it is impressive that she can do this, it’s also stupid to show her doing this and still look immaculate. A lot of make-up and some water splashed on her to represent sweat, shot in attractive lightning do not mean that anyone who actually exercises outside of commercials will ever look like this. Not her, not recreationals, not gymnasticians, not dancers and not even the instagram-yogis when they actually practice and not just pose. How is it empowering to feed us with yet another curated ad for something unattainable? Because I bet that in reality, her face turns red,… Read more »

But as she said..she’s doing it for herself, and no one else. she’s empowering herself by getting the check she gets for showing off the body she was born in. That is what modelling is about. she wouldn’t do that show for me privately so that I want to bang her,as the average male viewer, or ask her for dieting advices and take pics of her face for my plastic surgeon. she does it for a salary-paying campaign so that being sexy is empowering herself. and being yourself for a career, with this meaning not be your potential, but just… Read more »

it’s not empowering to get things for (practically) “free” without earning them, by just being lucky. That’s the opposite of empowering. “Empowering” means it gives you a sense of power – getting given things unfairly from birth is part of life but does not give the recipient a sense of power since they did nothing to get those things. That’s why so many children born into extreme wealth have psychological problems and are unable to do anything with their lives – they’ve never felt empowered, so they are lost, without confidence or drive.

Impressive strength and flexibility/balance… but why all the gratuitous butt shots? Like close up butt shots. How is that empowering me or her??? Really just spank bank material for the dudes… So we’ve seen the very thin/lean “empowering” video here with Taylor (too thin, but just my opinion), and we’ve also seen the big/curvy “empowering” video with Ashley (too big, but again just my opinion) so where’s the middle ground? That’s the majority of us! That could be pretty empowering if the average woman could see someone like her in one of these videos.

I totally get your point, but I personally think Taylor and Ashley both have bodies that don’t look far away from the norm to me! I see many sizes and shapes on the street- from way thinner than Taylor to way bigger than Ashley. Do you want to see ‘middle sized’ models because it represents more women? I’m just not convinced it does. Also, in the US the average BMI for women is overweight, but that is not representative of the global average. Some countries like the US and Australia just have obesity issues….

Well, it’s better than Ashely Graham’s, and at least it shows some skills/has some elegance to it, but how ironic is it that she says “…be who they are, for just themselves, no one else” while they show close ups of her butt? Still don’t see how these videos are empowering. And what is this Love magazine by the way? We don’t have it in my country and I can’t tell by these silly videos. As a side note, I really like Taylor’s body though.

Especially the “be who they are” part, when she’s clearly wearing heavy face and probably body makeup too.

The sentence she tried to string together is a perfect example of the failures of the modern educational system. Who needs critical thinking when it’s soooo empowering to show your butt? I’m sure she’s “doing it for herself” after receiving hundreds of messages daily that a woman’s sexuality is dependent on looking good for men.

Stunning face. And body looks amazing. Skinny and strong. I hate all the butt shots though, damn. So p*rn*. Call me a prude, but I don’t see the point.

Once again, I don’t feel empowered at all. What a pathetic excuse to produce a video that is clearly targeting straight men’s lower regions. Show a female NASA scientist or a women’s rights activist from the Middle East if you want to impress women.

Agreed! What I also find striking is that all these ads are still portraying a very narrow perception of “feeling sexy”…why does feeling sexy mean being half naked. Why can’t you feel sexy and empowered when you’re bossing it up?

As stupid as these are, hers is the best so far.

Is Love Magazine a lad’s mag?
It’s weird that if it’s for women (which some sources say it is) then why film women through the Male Gaze?
