Tess Holliday Brings the Quote of the Day

Untitled-1-2 - Tess Holliday Brings the Quote of the Day

On being real:

@makeupbyjmonroy captured this BTS from my cover shoot yesterday & it’s totally unretouched & I’m sitting in a way that isn’t “flattering” but that’s why I love it. It’s real. My gorgeous, supportive husband (who has held my hand the entire time through this book) is laughing behind me & I’m just hanging out in shapewear takin a 🤳🏻Wearing makeup doesn’t make me less of a feminist, & neither does wearing shapewear. It’s all about our choice to wear & do what we want with our bodies. I will keep resisting, with perfect coiffed hair from @hisvintagetouch too ✌🏻#effyourbeautystandards #NotSoSubtleTess

If you have to lead by saying something is “totally unretouched” it’s retouched.

Congratulations Tess, you will never live to see you 60s, let alone your children grow up or your grandchildren. What an accomplishment, you’ll die three or four decades younger than have to.

How someone would stand by and watch a loved one damage their body by being so obese is beyond me. But yeah, great supportive husband.

What freak me out is that candid shot of her on the street. You know you are way under healthy, when your knees are no longer visible. Like what is up with her right leg? It seems as if that is the back of her leg, not its front. Where is the knee?

Guest

Nope.

Self-confidence is key but to be this size is not healthy no matter how great she feels about herself.

She’s lying. She totally finds the pic flattering and that is why she’s posting it. I guess the thing I dislike the most about her isn’t her body, it’s her personality (or at least the way it comes across). For someone who claims to be all about body positivity, she usually comes across as very confrontational, even agressive. I get that it must have always been hard for her being her size, and people are mean, but this “get them before they get me” attitude is very offputing. Just another thing that is unattractive about her.

She has a beautiful face and a whole lot of deffensive denial behind it. No such thing as a healthy morbidly obese person. Not even gonna comment the “feminism” thing, secondhand embrassment is strong there.

delusional, nasty. this fat acceptance is way out of hand. These people genuinely believe health has nothing to do with size and that eating habits dont determine size. ive been watching fat acceptance cringe videos and these people are effin stupid.

I agree fat acceptance is way out of hand. However it is more than that with her. She just wants the attention and doesn’t care that her opinions end up hurting overweight people more than they help. If she cared about the lives and health of obese people, she would be out there showing people how you can lose the weight and become healthy again. She doesn’t care at all about health, she is all in it for the attention and pretends that being obese is beautiful.

She is SO FAT that I can’t tell if the front of her knee is the back of her knee.

Ok… but there is always a way to word things in a way that isn’t absolutely immature and plain rude

cam
Guest

how is that rude or immature?

If you ever come to the UK phrasing things that way, you will see; that language is good only to clean toilets basically.
Let alone that people here are huge hypocrites, so they generally don’t tell what they think at all in any social scenario, and often tell candidly the exact opposite of what they think, and do b~~~~ a considerable amount about any other person as soon as they are not in the room.
But, without the hypocrisy, you could still say the exact same thing you think, with better manners.

I admire her for some things, she grew up the fat kid and had a hard time because of it. She apparently was also very poor and on governement assistance. As an adult whenever I have worked with women who grew up either poor or fat if not both, they are bitter, even if they are very young still.
However, if she doesn’t already she is going to have issues with her knees and hips, if she doesn’t already. If she doesn’t start losing some serious weight she will have heart & collestoral issues.

I grew up the fat kid and I was also very poor and on government assistance… don’t see how that ties into admiring someone later in life? You’re a fat kid? Make a point to learn to eat carefully and with whole/healthy foods and get exercising.. daily. That’s what I had to learn. I couldn’t eat like my slim brothers or even my whole slim family – I somehow lost in that metabolism category and got my chubby grandmother and aunt’s genes. So you don’t cry about it, you work harder on it. You’re poor and on assistance? Start working… Read more »

I think you mean “bitter” Jessica and if that is the one thing you took away from my response of the OP admiring Tess for being the fat, poor girl, then you really really missed my point. My point is that no matter your circumstance, you can change it. I’m happy for my experience as it shaped me to who I am today. You can be resentful and bitter about the lot you were given as a child or you can be grateful and help it to fuel you to rise up. Sorry you totally misread it.

I think they should stop promoting this kind of obesity, it should be forbidden and banned. To me it’s the same like anorexia. Your promoting a very unhealthy lifestyle and image.

cam

btw, there has been a handful os studies showing men throughout the world prefer on average a bmi of 17-21 as the most attractive. tess if far from that. health is beauty.

cam

ideal was 20. below 17 it drops sharply.

Who cares what men prefer. Women don’t exist to appeal to men.

i dont know what redpill is. at any rate I’m not a mindless robot like many liberals despite being a registered democrat who hates donald trump. believe it or not most women actually do care about being attractive! and noo i dont care about all men being attracted to me but personally id like a quality partner and rich intelligent men who aren’t jerks can pick anyone they want. sure if you want a desperate loser without a job and a car stay fat. but quality men want beautiful healthy women and that was true 1000 years ago, its true… Read more »

Don’t feed the trolls, people. If it wasn’t clear from the 1st comment that this poster was trolling, it’s obvious now. Ignoring them is always the best solution.

Cris

Well, technically we do. And men also exist to appeal to us. You know, in order to perpetuate the species, and all. That is why we are our most attractive in our fertile years.

Uma

I am sorry but Tess is at a point where it has nothing to do with men’s preference. She is objectively very very unhealthy. No way around that. There are people out there that will find anything attractive, that’s really not the point or an argument in this.

Can we please stop this whole “I’m a feminist and still wear make up!” schtick going around lately? Sure, you can wear makeup and still be a feminist. But feminism is a movement to free women from oppressive societal constraints, not a cheer leading squad for every choice an individual woman makes. And sorry Tess, your obsession with fulfilling society’s expectations of beauty isn’t feminist. IMO, I think a woman who claims to want to uplift other women would talk about the importance of being a healthy weight.

“feminism is a movement to free women from oppressive societal constraints, not a cheer leading squad for every choice an individual woman makes”

can we post this on every internet page somehow. so sick of women choosing to defend every little thing they do as still being feminist… like, no one cares. get over yourself

Sara

i agree. feminism has gotten so out of whack and distorted- branching off into these sjw delusional sub categories.
as far as I’m concerned, anything thats bad for women is not feminism. so telling women its okay to be fat and settle for less is not feminism. its something else entirely.

i dont know why feminism has become a group of weak insecure whiny women. that is not feminism- its reinforcing all the negative stereotypes of women. give me strong women like katherine hepburn, madonna( before 2005), pj harvey. not whiny weak women like tess, ashley graham– women who haven’t accomplished anything

her confidence is giving me confidence. Sure, her weight is unhealthy and she should think about the future for her children’s sake but she has something special about her that makes her radiant. I am so sick of women putting even size 6-10 down. There are extra skinny girls in my large european city who look very unhealthy that just love to look down on people with extra meat. I was an extra small and now I am a large. Men still find me attractive and women still snicker at me. Be confident no matter what others think about your… Read more »

I have never seen such a beautiful woman. She is absolutely stunning. I wonder how she manages to be so heavy, she must have some hormonal disorder. How much can one eat? Anyway, I like her, we happen to share the same horoscope sign, and I get her. I am sure she really is that confident. Good for her
